Voice

As one of the world’s leading operators, we are well placed to help you maximise the opportunities that International Voice can deliver. Our powerful international network grants you access to over 300 international direct routes so you can benefit from the same services and expertise that more than 320 million of our customers already experience every day.

Carrying your voice to the entire world International Voice Services When you access our international voice network you are partnering with a leading global carrier providing extensive coverage over TDM, IP and IPX networks. Extending your network with us, will enable you to seamlessly promote your voice services both locally and internationally. Through a single gateway, every destination will be reached in a simple and reliable way via comprehensive and high quality routes, enabling you to benefit from our extensive experience of managing voice traffic for the entire Telefonica group.

Over 20 billion minutes of international voice calls carried per year

Our Standard Quality delivers competitive prices with the quality demanded by international operators. It provides routing of your international traffic to the countries of your choice in a simple, global and immediate way, and allows you to add new destinations without prior planning and investment. For the highest call quality and CLI transparency, Premium QualityIPX is the best option. This solution builds on an extensive set of high quality and direct routes by adding the benefits of overflow management, fraud control and supervision by a service manager.

With International Voice Outsourcing we can manage all of your international voice traffic so you can reap the benefits of our proven experience which guarantees quality and service. The enhanced capabilities of our new voice network facilitates international high quality HD Voice calls, and enables our mobile customers in particular to extend the advantages of VoLTE calls internationally. ITFS ITFS (International Toll Free Service) provides the adaptability and versatility required to extend your international services. It enables you to explore new business opportunities, expand traffic and increase commercial activity by reaching new customer segments or specific regions. SIP Trunking Offers global connectivity for corporate voice services by enabling voice connection using our MPLS VPN networks. Moreover, it provides global voice communication services at a local, national and international level, not just internal. It also enables incoming calls to be received in one or several physical points and on different

numbering plans: geographical and nongeographical (free numbers for the caller). POTS / ISDN Resale Corporate Telephony and resale services simplify voice communications in an international environment. It provides access to wholesale voice terminations which help operators extend their client’s corporate voice networks across the world. The service is based on four pillars: connectivity, voice facilities, professional services and equipment. The value-added POTS & ISDN service offers landline voice services to corporations, allowing end client’s headquarters to make calls from its installations to the PSTN, and receive calls from any other operator, whether national or international, fixed or mobile. Simultaneously, the service offers portability facilities and supports both public numbering services (geographical numbering) and intelligent network numbering services (non-geographical numbering).

IP-Data & Security Top quality broadband and IP connectivity with security built in

We are leaders in Capacity services in Latin America and we benefit from the scale of the Telefonica Group. This makes us well placed to offer you open and unrestricted access to a self-healing fibre optic network (gate to gate) which connects Europe, Latin America, the United States and Asia, with full reliability.

Transport IPX This is our general connectivity solution to meet the specific needs of our customers. Harnessing the flexibility and security features of IPX, it makes it possible to establish protected communities to transport our customers’ traffic, thus guaranteeing the service quality. We offer a comprehensive range of cost effective and scalable connectivity environments. Internet Transit Offering direct Internet connectivity through our Tier-1 IP Backbone, and with extensive international coverage, this service provides Operators and ISPs with high-speed Internet access. It uses a network of high-level technology services, guaranteeing the best quality and a commercial model to suit any requirement. Capacity Services Our network uses reliable and flexible technology to ensure efficient use of bandwidth and greater end-to-end transparency both regionally and globally. • Private Line: Point-to-point structured circuits in SDH/SONET standard, which use a self-healing fibre optic network. Our IP Interconnection portfolio enables you to offer a wide variety of services and content to a large number of connected users, leveraging extensive international coverage, quality and unbeatable speed, all underpinned by our own internet security services.

Internet VAS Our Internet value-added services enhance the capabilities of your Internet connectivity with: • Managed CGNAT (Managed Carrier Grade NAT): Instead of allocating public addresses to individual users, this service enables one single IPv4 public address to be shared amongst a much greater number of end-users with IPv4 private addresses. • Virtual NAP: Provides connectivity to IXPs/ NAPs in order to establish local peerings and exchange national traffic, delivered at a more competitive price and with enhanced Quality of Service. Internet Security Services Our security portfolio is designed to strengthen your organisation and your customers’ businesses in order to prevent and manage the major security challenges facing today’s digital world. • DDoS Shield: Part of the Internet Transit service, offering a security service capable of detecting and mitigating Distributed Denial of Service attacks (DDoS). In case of an attack, the attack is transparent to the client before it reaches their network, eliminating the malicious traffic and delivering the legitimate traffic, thus ensuring continuity of service. • Cyber Intelligence: Provides information and operational intelligence to detect and address major security challenges, including business disruption, reputation and branding attacks and online fraud. Based on open source observation and an architecture fully tailored to each industry, it provides both

operators and their customers with an endto-end solution that goes beyond a traditional security consultancy. • Smart DNS: Designed to add intelligence to the DNS currently implemented in the Internet access networks. Adding this extra layer of intelligence enables the development of new value-added services without investing in network infrastructure. These services protect networks and users from threats, illegal or inappropriate content and establish innovative communication channels between operators and their customers • VAMPS (Vulnerability Analysis Management Professional Service): Provides customers with mechanisms to detect and counteract the threats that may exist in their own systems and platforms, and monitors the life cycle of the vulnerabilities detected during audits. Our in-house proprietary technology and globally recognised ethical hacking experts deliver accurate and informative insight about vulnerabilities affecting infrastructure and/or systems. Comprehensive reporting and the intelligence of pentesting modules which go far beyond traditional “IP-testing” approaches help prevent security breaches that otherwise could not be managed or even detected.

All underpinned by robust solutions with worldwide coverage through extensive peering agreements. Data Roaming IPX Interconnects our customers’ networks with their partners through the IP/MPLS network (over 110 PoPs) in order to ensure the data transport required for data roaming in 2G/3G (GPRS) and LTE (S8). We provide global coverage with hundreds of points of presence worldwide which not only allows our customers to have a PoP close to their premises but also enables users to enjoy the same services when roaming that they are offered on their home network.

Secure and comprehensive solutions, adaptable to your needs

The service also includes proxy functions for DNS queries which guarantees total security for customer communications as a result of isolation from the Public Internet and fully private connectivity. Additionally, we offer the option to complement Data Roaming with our ASP Access IPX service, developed to grant access to RIM and other ASPs (Application Service Provider), as they can be integrated to provide a single solution for nonInternet data transport.

Messaging Services We offer multiple service options to our customers. Global Enterprise Messaging IPX provides advanced SMS A2P messaging services in a centralised and automated way, capable of SMS delivery to any mobile destination worldwide through a single connection, thus reducing operating costs. Our offer is completed with SMS Hub which provides extensive international coverage for the exchange of SMS P2P with billing, security and reporting facilities, and MMS Relay IPX which represents an ideal solution for mobile operators that require extensive international coverage for the exchange of MMS P2P. Roaming Services Our portfolio includes a wide range of valueadded services delivered by our roaming business: • Roaming Investigation Tool for Mobile Operators: A roaming monitoring solution that improves insight and the management of data roaming business in order to ensure roaming quality, protect roaming revenues and provide real-time monitoring of roaming VIP sessions. • Steering of Roaming: Directs traffic to the networks which offer the best wholesale rates to the operator, maximising commercial benefits of Roaming Out. Furthermore, this service prevents and blocks Anti-Steering policies and accidental Border Roaming. • Welcome SMS: Customisable by country, this service enables an operator to send an SMS to their outbound roamers when they register in a foreign network.

• Roaming Campaign Management Tool: Enhances data consumption of roamers out who do not use data while roaming. With this solution, an intelligent segmentation of those roamers can be developed and relevant data offers can be targeted to increase campaign effectiveness. • Customized Data Roaming: Incorporates two different services. Data Roaming Manager allows operators to communicate with their roamers out to inform them about data rates, and give them the opportunity to purchase customised packages, avoiding bill shock. Data Roaming Compression optimises user data sessions in roaming reducing the intermediate operator’s charge cost without losing service quality. • Roaming Suite: Enables operators to offer end-users a similar environment when roaming to the one they experience with their home network (missed call alert, short codes, voice mail deposit, data alert). • Dual IMSI: Offers International Roaming coverage to subscribers of new entrant operators (MNO, MVNO or CDMA operators migrating to GSM/UMTS). This means availability is immediate as the entrant operator is able to offer both international coverage and national coverage from launch.

SDN-NFV Enhancing the network: Building dynamic services

Today, the world is more connected than ever before. In this dynamic and changing world, services of the future appear limitless and people – businesses and consumers – expect and require everything to be available immediately. Importantly users demand to be in control and to have the ability to choose their services and how they are delivered.

Enabling these choices and facilitating this level of control over users’ digital experiences is driving the need to adopt a new technological approach to telecoms network architecture and service deployment. Two technologies are at the heart of this network evolution: Software Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Functions Virtualisation (NFV). Together these technologies will enable faster provisioning and delivery of integrated services, as well as provide opportunities for greater service insight and new pricing models (Pay As You Go, flexible service packages, inclusive connectivity etc.). Virtualisation also brings exciting new commercial opportunities for wholesale players and the community as a whole has an important role to play to make virtualisation a reality across the industry. Telefonica is taking a leading role in the telco industry’s evolution to network virtualisation.

“Technology transformation and modernization is a major theme for the operator: Its components include high-speed networks, superior customer experience, and global platforms to accelerate time to market.”

We are an active player in SDN and NFV deployment and a member of the industry Specification Group for NFV (ETSI NFV ISG). Through our long term and strategic collaboration with key industry players, robust proof of concept (PoC) trials and the extensive work already completed by our CTO, we are leveraging our global scale and presence to help establish global standards, which will ultimately lead to improved customer experience, to meet and exceed their expectations. Simultaneously we are investing in research of NFV and SDN architecture for the benefit of the entire wholesale community and working closely with strategic partners to define and validate the requirements of the infrastructure and virtualisation environment. In order to stay at the forefront of this new era, Business Solutions Wholesale is committed to our transformation strategy, focusing on system & process transformation, network automation and Network Functions Virtualisation.
