General Charting Improvement • Chart Selection Menu Improvement – Users now have the option of selecting the cartography by name/brand as opposed to just the standard Lowrance/Navionics option. • Allows users to easily select the correct cartography at a glance

Jeppesen CMAP MAX-N+ • Easy Routing – Automatically create a route – Automatically calculates the shortest safe route based upon user selected start and end points. • Calculations based upon vessel settings (Draught, Beam Width, Height) and chart data to determine safe route legs. – Green Route Leg = Safe – Yellow Route Leg = Potentially Dangerous – Red Route Leg = Potentially Unsafe (Recreate the route selecting different start/end points)

* NOTE: HDS units designed for sale in the Americas region will not have Easy Routing capabilities. Easy Routing features are disabled on all non-Americas units when used in US territorial waters.

Jeppesen CMAP MAX-N+ • Dynamic Tides and Currents – Dynamic Tides and Currents give a graphical representation of the current activity when the chart is zoomed in beyond a 1mi. zoom scale.

• Standard Current icons are replaced by color coded arrows indicating the direction and speed of the current. • Selecting a current arrow on screen will open the modified currents page in the unit. – With Dynamic Tides and Currents we show when currents are Ebb or Flood

Demo and Simulator Improvements

Demo and Simulator Improvements • Demo Mode – Demo mode is now designed specifically for displaying HDS Gen2 and Gen2 Touch units in a retail showroom environment. • Updated demo slide show • Stores User settings (language, units, sonar, chart settings) that are made before Demo mode is turned on and will reset the unit back to those defaults after changes are made by customer interaction – After 2 minutes of inactivity the unit will reload the settings and restart the demo – This keeps a good looking display for all demo screens even if a customer has made settings changes. (Specifically for Sonar/Structure/Chart pages)

– Added ability to toggle between a StructureScan source and a SpotlightScan source via the Structure page while the unit is in demo mode.

Standard updates only need the software update file. • Download the 3.0 software update file for your unit – Gen2: http://www.lowrance.com/en-US/Software-Updates/HDS-Gen2/ – Gen2 Touch: http://www.lowrance.com/en-US/Software-Updates/HDS-Gen2-Touch/ – Download the Simulator file for your unit – Please select the appropriate download for your region » Americas » Non-Americas » Sonar Only (X Units) • Copy the software update and the “sims” folder to your blank SD card • Insert the card in the powered off HDS unit • Power on the unit and let the update run automatically 17
