BNPS School Vision As you would be aware from our article last week, we are continuing to develop vision for our school community. Following the success of our School Vision Community evening last week, we have had a working party developing a final draft. Big thanks go to Briony Price (parent), Stephanie Sevastas (staff) and Sophie Yang (student) who volunteered for the very difficult task of pulling all of the great work together. Below is a copy of the culmination of our work; In the welcoming environment of BNPS, everyone has a place to be. High expectations for all are achieved through an engaging and progressive approach to education. We foster strong relationships based on mutual respect with an appreciation for our cultural diversity. We value quality teaching and deep learning to build caring and independent future thinkers. Our Student School Leaders are now visiting classrooms to collate ideas for a ‘mantra’ to pull of this work together in a meaningful and ‘catchy’ way. We would be very keen to hear from any parents who have some thoughts about this also. Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea Thank you so much to the people who supported Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea yesterday. What a wonderful spread we enjoyed! Thank you so much to Stephanie Sevastas for her incredible effort in organising this event and highlighting this very important cause. We are very thrilled to announce that we raised $540 which will be sent straight to the Anti-Cancer Council for research into curing cancer. Resilience Project Community Night We are very fortunate to have Hugh van Cuylenburg from The Resilience Project, joining us on Tuesday 14 th June for a special presentation to our school community. This event will be a wonderful opportunity for families to hear about the ways in which we can work to have a healthier mind and a more resilient outlook on life. Please join us in the school hall at 7:00pm for what I’m sure will be an informative and engaging evening! Working Bee Please join us if you can on Sunday morning from 9:00am at our Term 3 Working Bee. We have lots of jobs for everyone and a sausage sizzle at the end to feed our hungry workers! Hopefully the sun will be shining for us all. Reporting Process Teachers are currently finalising assessments and the writing of Semester 1 reports. Assessment at Balwyn North Primary School is an on-going and important aspect of our teaching and learning program. Mid-year reports will be available to parents via the Compass portal on Wednesday 22nd June. Please note that you will soon be able to book in a time for Student Led Conferences which will be held on Tuesday 19th and Wednesday 20th July. More information to follow.

SCHOOL CAPTAINS’MESSAGE Hello, This week is going to be very exciting for all Aeroschools participants as they are performing this Saturday! Good luck to everyone! Also, this Sunday is the WORKING BEE and it would be extremely helpful and appreciated if you could attend. Last week, all the leaders of B.N.P.S including the JSC representatives, spent some of their lunch playtime to talk to a special lady who came into our school and spoke about gratitude and what we are grateful for. She also spoke about how in our library, there will be a new gratitude tree where you can write what you are grateful for on a leaf and stick it on the tree. From, Hannah, Aaron, Pasandul and Sophie
