A Letter of Departure... Dear Friends, Audrey and I came to Denver in June 1992, joining the Department of Family Medicine as a resident at Rose Hospital. I was fortunate to join the faculty in August of 1995. It has been a wonderful 20 years. Family Medicine has been a support for my work and research, an encouragement for my career, and a home for my family. The recent work with the Community Engagement Core of the CCTSI has been a wonderful experience, getting to know new communities, new leaders, and new researchers. The PACT Council has become an incredible asset to the University and, I hope, to your communities throughout Colorado. Your commitment to improving the health of your neighbors and all of Colorado is an inspiration. You have been colleagues and friends, and I am thankful for each of you and the help you have provided me and my family. It is with mixed emotions that I announce my departure from the University of Colorado on May 17, 2013. I have accepted a job as the Director of Health for the brand new Colorado Health Cooperative. It is kind of a dream job, helping start a new non-profit organization committed to healthy living, primary care, and building communities of solution throughout Colorado. The nature of the work is such that I have every expectation we will continue to work together on the important health issues that face Colorado. I will continue working with the High Plains Research Network through the Department of Family Medicine. The community engaged work of the HPRN and Community Advisory Council is exciting, relevant, and most importantly, fun. So I plan to hang around the DFM whenever possible. Thank you all for your support and help over the past 20 years, Jack
