Atlantic Racing Team is applying 15 years of International racing experience to create a current and relevant race series, based in Nova Scotia. The objective of the Atlantic Racing Academy is to provide a one-make series for Junior level drivers while providing an equal environment for learning the craft and knowledge required to be successful in Motorsports. Atlantic Racing Team recognizes that there is a gap left in Motorsports between karting and the high-budget requirement of National or International racing. We have created an all-inclusive package that will help bridge the gap for those who are finding their way into junior formula cars. To be successful in 2013, a driver must have all the pieces of the puzzle. Driving talent is complimented by fitness training, understanding of racing physics, ability to communicate, marketability, and being able to analyze data. Atlantic Racing Academy’s purpose is to guide drivers in assembling all the pieces of the puzzle.

The team The past: • The team was founded in 1989 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. • Atlantic Racing Team (ATL) is family owned by Ingo and Lucas Strackerjan. • ATL competed in Formula Ford, Formula 2000, Formula Renault 2.0L, and various GT and Enduro series including such brands as Audi, VW and Marcos from 1989 to 2002. • From 2002 to 2004, ATL competed in the North American Formula Renault Championship (Fran-Am). • In 2004 ATL was a pioneer in the (later named) FBMW Americas Championship. • ATL competed as a race winning team in the Indy Pro Series (now Indylights) with American, Robbie Pecorari. • In 2008 ATL repositioned itself as a truly international team while competing in Canada, the US, Brazil, all while having a full time commitment to the FBMW Pacific (Asia) Championship with 14 year-old American/Columbian racer Gabby Chaves. • ATL has been a strong advocate for strict/fair series rules to better serve the drivers that pass through junior championships. • In Europe, since 2008, the team became well known in the Formula LO-Lista Series, gaining respect by scoring wins and finishing 2nd in the championship every year. • In 2012 ATL returned to Sedan racing in the Blancpain Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia Series. The team fielded 4 cars (Japanese, Malaysian, Singaporean and Australian drivers) and amassed 8 wins and 17 podiums. Present and future – 2013 and beyond; • ATL has assembled the finest mechanics with many years of experiences in LeMans, Renault, GT and other international race series and cars. ATL is now embanking on 3 racing series in Asia; again in the Blancpain Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia Series with as many as 6 cars; the newly announced Formula Masters with at least 2 cars; and the brand new Asian LeMans Series in the LMP2 class.

The program Aside from providing a budget sensitive series, Atlantic Racing Academy endeavours to teach all aspects of motorsports. Each weekend will start with a track walk. This gives the opportunity to discuss various corners and observe any changes or issues with the track surface. After each on-track session, you will be required to do a written driver debrief to analyze your driving, the car’s performance, and to prepare for your debrief. After this you will sit with your coach to discuss the areas of greatest improvement. The focus of the series will be on driving and not changing settings. All cars will have equal set-up and this will not be varied during the course of the weekend. While not at the track, the Academy will provide to you a set of physical fitness exercises to improve endurance, concentration, and overall strength. Driver Simulator Atlantic Racing Team has the exclusive use of a purpose build racing simulator for F-BMW cars at AMP. This track has been programmed specifically for the team and works in conjunction with the F-BMW platform in R-Factor. As a Team member you will have access to the simulator while not participating in track duties.
