ErP 2015 The ErP Directive New values for fans

What is ErP 2015? ErP, that is, ”Energy related Products” means products related to energy. In order to accomplish the objectives of the EU Climate and Energy Package the EuP directive - “Energy-Using Products” was issued in 2005, which was thereafter replaced by the ErP directive in 2009. This directive specifies the rules for setting requirements concerning the energy related products, including electric motors used in fans. The main purpose of the ErP directive is to increase the efficiency of the rotor-fan units by 20%. It also supports the accomplishment of the objectives set in the EU Climate and Energy Package, which stipulates the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by 20% with the simultaneous increase in the use of energy from renewable sources in the area of the EEA (European Economic Area) up to 20% by the year 2020. In pursuance of regulation 327/2011, except several exceptions, all fans provided with electric motors with the power ranging between 0.125kW and 500kW, sold or imported into the European Union, are covered by the ErP directive. Exceptions include: • Smoke extract fans • Explosion-proof fans • Fans with chemical resistance to aggressive gases • Fans operating in the air with the temperature above 65°C (motor outside the stream of the transported gas) • Fans for the air with the temperature above 100°C

Energy classification of ventilation systems intended for residential buildings In pursuance of Regulation 1254/2014 adopted by the European Commission, from January onward, manufacturers and distributors in the territory of the European Union are obliged to place labels with the energy class on the ventilation system elements intended for residential buildings. The aforementioned regulation does not apply to the following ventilation systems intended for residential buildings: a) one-way (air exhaust and air supply) ventilation systems with electric power consumption lower than 30 W; b) intended only for the use in spaces exposed to the risk of explosion, specified in directive 94/9/EC of the European Parliament and Council (2); c) intended for use only in emergency situations, for a short time, meeting the basic requirements for construction facilities in reference to fire safety, specified in regulation 305/2011 (3) of the European Parliament and Council (EU) d) intended for use only in the following conditions: • when the working temperature of the moved air exceeds 100°C; • when the ambient temperature during the operation of the motor that drives the fan, being outside

the air stream, exceeds 65 °C; • when the temperature of the moved air or the ambient temperature during the operation of the motor being outside the air stream are lower than – 40°C; • if the supply voltage exceeds 1000 V in the case of AC power supply or 1500 V in the case of DC power supply; • in the conditions of exposure to toxic, flammable or strongly corrosive agents or in the conditions of exposure to abrasive substances; e) provided with the heat exchanger or thermal pump, serving the purpose of heat recovery or enabling the transfer or heat recovery additionally for the operation of the heat recovery system, except the heat transfer for the purpose of protection against freezing or defrosting; f) classified as range hoods, covered by the scope of the Commission delegated regulation (EU) No. 65/2014.

Label The label must contain the following information: I) name of supplier or its trademark; II) supplier model identifier; III) energy efficiency; the head of the arrow containing the letter that determines the energy efficiency class of the device, is located at the same height as the head of the arrow of the relevant energy efficiency class. The energy efficiency was specified for the moderate climate; L 337/34 PL Official Journal of the European Union 25.11.2014 IV) sound power level (LWA) in dB, rounded to the nearest whole number; V) maximum flow intensity in m3/h rounded to the nearest whole number, including the head in one direction meaning the oneway ventilation system or in two directions for the two-way ventilation system. The method of calculation of the Specific Energy Consumption and the division into energy classes was specified in regulation 1254/2014.

Duct fans Model: DV-PP-L The DV-PP-L duct fan is used to supply and exhaust the air in ventilation ducts. The DV-PP-L duct fans are an ideal solution for the air exhaust in bathrooms and other rooms. Small sizes of the DV-PP-L fans facilitate the assembly in locations that are hard to access and where the space is limited.

Model: DV-PP Intended for general ventilation with the low degree of dusting the round duct fan is characterised by high efficiency at minimum noise level. It can be mounted both in the vertical and horizontal arrangement, and the universal construction enables its maintenance without the necessity of disassembly of the ventilation pipes.

Model: DV The radial duct fan made of galvanised sheet is applicable in various types of mechanical ventilation of offices, shops, restaurants, ventilation of workshops or in refrigerating systems. The applied rotors with blades leaning backwards enable the transport of the maximum amount of air with minimum noise and at high static pressure.

Model: DV-SQ The DV-SQ duct fans have been designed and manufactured in order to ensure the high efficiency, failure-free operation and direct connection to the ventilation duct. The rectangular duct fans are designed for ventilation of medium-size and large rooms, where the space is limited.
