Investments in China In 2007, Celanese Emulsions formally dedicated its manufacturing facility in Nanjing, China. This site features a state-of-the-art pressure emulsions production facility and an atmospheric emulsions facility to serve local requirements. These facilities produce various emulsions including vinyl acetate/ethylene (VAE), vinyl acetate homopolymers and copolymers and acrylics. In 2011, the Nanjing VAE unit doubled its capacity.

Committed to supporting global growth Celanese is fully committed to delivering performance solutions to glass fiber manufacturers in global growth regions such as China, India and Latin America. To support the Asian region, we offer a growing team located in Shanghai, China as well as in Mumbai, India and Thailand. We also have a growing team in São Paolo, Brazil to support Latin America.

The Celanese Nanjing manufacturing complex is fully integrated to ensure continuous world-scale supply. The complex also includes a world-scale acetic acid and vinyl acetate monomer (VAM) plant. This manufacturing complex utilises best-in-class technologies from other Celanese plants around the world. This recent investment makes Celanese a fully integrated acetyls manufacturer in China and trusted source of supply for decades to come. Celanese also opened its Shanghai Technology and Commercial Center in 2011 to house hundreds of professionals to support the company’s various businesses in the region. The labs feature state-of-the-art equipment and knowledgeable industry professionals to support our customers throughout Asia.

Setting the standards for high-quality glass fiber sizing polymers Celanese is a recognised leader in delivering performance solutions for the glass fiber industry. Our products are true leaders in this industry and have been the benchmark for quality and functionality for decades. Today, our portfolio includes polymer emulsions that we supply to glass fiber producers throughout Europe, the Americas and Asia.

These products are improving quality and performance in a range of critical glass fiber manufacturing operations, including glass fiber and yarn sizing, CSM binding, glass fiber tissue (veil) binding and other applications including coating of wall coverings, fabrics and scrims. We have extensive expertise in the field of thermoset glass fiber reinforcement.

Glass fiber sizing polymers Celanese offers emulsion polymers for the sizing of glass fibers. Our technology and experience in sizing allow us to help you improve handling of fibers during processing and optimise how they perform as part of a composite – adding value to your products at this critical stage. Celanese offers recommendations and guide sizing recipes for a variety of glass fiber products used in open and closed mold, fast or slow wet-out and high or low styrene solubility composite applications. Our polymer chemists and technical experts can study your application and recommend a set of polymers best suited to your needs.
