THE POLYTECHNIC PROGRAM - A COMPREHENSIVE COURSE OF STUDY The Polytechnic program offers study in three broad technical fields

THE TRAINING PROGRAM IN THE THREE TECHNICAL FIELDS

• Electrical-Electronics Engineering • Mechatronics Engineering • Mechanical Engineering

Electrical-Electronics Engineering The training program in Electrical and Electronics Engineering enables students to gain a broad understanding of the practical application of technological concepts in industry.

The duration of the training program in each field is 3½ years comprising of 7 semesters, each semester consisting of 6 months. The content of the courses offered in the three fields are prescribed by the AICTE.

Electrical and Electronics Engineering concepts are applied to a wide variety of systems such as Communications, Automobile Process Controls, Manufacturing and Maintenance, and Industrial Automation.

The course of study in all the three fields seamlessly combines theory in the classroom with practical application in the workshop. In the 4th & 7th semesters students undergo hands-on training at participating industries where they apply theory and hands-on skills learned at CPAT to real time industrial situations.

Mechatronics Engineering The training program in this field enables students to develop a broad understanding of the principles of Mechatronics Engineering and their applications in industry. Mechatronics Engineering is the integration of Mechanics and Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Technology and Information Technology to produce or enhance products and systems. It is a fusion of Precision Mechanics and Electronics in the design and manufacture of products and processes.

Mechanical Engineering This program provides an introduction to the concepts, principles and application of Mechanical Engineering in industry. These principles and concepts of Mechanical Engineering are applied to the plan, design, development, testing and manufacturing of mechanical equipments and machines, to product evaluation and machine tool maintenance.
