Dynasty All Star Cheer & Tumbling 2150 Delavan Dr. West Des Moines, IA 50266 (515) 868 1215 www.DynastyAllStarCheer.com [email protected]

WELCOME TO DYNASTY Dynasty’s prep cheer option provides the perfect opportunity to give the world of competitive cheerleading a try. Many of our current cheerleaders on competitive teams got their start through our prep cheer program. Prep cheer differs from competitive cheer by requiring less commitment in time, travel and financially. Prep Cheer teams are a 9 month commitment (June-February) with one team practice per week. Our prep teams compete exclusively at competitions in the Des Moines area. They will be competing at 4 competitions during the 2016-2017 cheer season. There is no overnight travel required. Team placements for prep teams are determined by age. Use athletes age as of August 31st, 2016.

Queen Bees Ages 3-5 This team will work on learning the basics of cheer. Athletes will be working on cartwheels, back bends, and handstands.

Onyx Ages 6-9 This team will work on learning the basics, and will focus on jumps, and stunting. Athletes will be working towards round-offs, back bend kick overs, and front walkovers.

Platinum Ages 10-14 This team will learn the basics of cheer, and quickly progress through jump workouts, and stunting. Athletes will be working towards back walkovers, and back handsprings.

EXPECTATIONS IN THE GYM COMPETITIONS -All competitions are mandatory. Missing a competition may be grounds for dismissal from Dynasty. -We sit together as a gym at competitions. This promotes a sense of gym unity and allows us to cheer for each of our teams with equal enthusiasm. -All teams are expected to remain at competitions until after their awards session and team picture is complete. -Know your scheduled meeting time with your team and be on time with your athlete ready to go. PRACTICE -Practice starts at the scheduled time. Athletes must be in the gym, with hair back and shoes on at the start of practice. No jewelry! -Official practice wear is to be worn to all team practices. When you look like a team you practice like a team! -Athletes are expected to show up 10 minutes prior to practice to stretch. Flyers are expected to show up 20 minutes prior to practice to stretch. -Athletes are expected to be at every practice, when one athlete is gone several stunts cannot practice that day. (We do realize that family’s vacation in the summer, Practices in the two weeks leading up to a competition are mandatory please adjust your schedules accordingly.) -If you are sick (not contagious) or injured you need to show up to observe and support your team. You also need to find a substitute for yourself. Please see our substitution policy below. -If you are contagious you need to have a parent call Dynasty to let us know you will be gone so coaches can plan accordingly -School cheerleading games are excused. School cheerleading practices are not excused. - Parents please do not keep your athlete home from practice as a consequence, this is a team sport. When one team member misses it is a detriment to the entire team. -Athletes should be able to handle schoolwork and practices, homework is not an acceptable excuse for missing practice. -2 absences or 3 late arrivals in a 30-day period will result in meeting between the coach, cheerleader and parent. -Cell phones need to be turned off, and in your bags. Athletes are not allowed to check phones during practice. If there is an emergency and you need to get a hold of your athlete please call the Dynasty phone. SUBSTITUTION POLICY If you are going to be gone or know you need to sit out for an injury you need to find a sub to replace you. It can be someone from a level above or a level below your team level, and should be physically able to do your parts. You are responsible for finding and organizing your own sub and letting them know the times they are supposed to be at practice. You also need to let your coach know who the sub is prior to the start of practice. This is an expectation that has been implemented on all teams, so you may be asked to sub in for other teams as well. Reasons to get a sub include sickness, injury, or family vacation.

EXPECTATIONS OUTSIDE THE GYM -Dynasty cheerleaders are not allowed to participate in activities at other All Star Cheerleading Gyms. PARTICIPANT AGREEMENT, RELEASE AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK In consideration of the services of Dynasty All Star Cheer and Tumbling LLC, its owners, agents, officers, employees, and all other persons or entities acting in any capacity on their behalf (hereinafter collectively referred to as “DAS”), I hereby agree to release, discharge, and hold harmless DAS, on behalf of myself, my children, my parents, my heirs, assigns, personal representative and estate as follows: 1. I understand and acknowledge that the activities that I or my child engage in while on the premises or under the auspices of DAS pose known and unknown risks which could result in injury, paralysis, death, emotional distress, or damage to my, my child, to property, or to third parties. The following describes some, but not all, of those risks: Cheerleading and gymnastics, including performances of stunts and use of trampolines, entail certain risks that simply cannot be eliminated without jeopardizing the essential qualities of the activity. Without a certain degree of risk, cheerleading students would not improve their skills and the enjoyment of the sport would be diminished. Cheerleading and gymnastics expose participants to the usual risk of cuts and bruises, and other more serious risks as well. Participants often fall, sprain or break wrists, and ankles, and can suffer more serious injuries. Traveling to and from shows, meets and exhibitions raises the possibilities of any manner of transportation accidents. In any event, if you or your child is injured, medical assistance may be required which you must pay for yourself. 2. I expressly agree and promise to accept and assume all of the risks, known and unknown, connected with DAS related activities, including but not limited to performance of stunts and use of trampolines. My participation and that of my child is purely voluntary. No one has forced or coerced me or my child to participate. I elect for myself and my children to participate in such activities in spite of the risks. 3. I hereby voluntarily release, forever discharge, and agree to hold harmless, and indemnify DAS from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions or rights of action, which are related to, arise out of, or are in any way connected with my child’s participation in DAS related activities. 4. Should DAS be required to incur attorneys’ fee and costs to enforce this agreement, I agree to indemnify and reimburse them for such fees and costs. 5. I certify that my child has health, accident, and liability insurance to cover bodily injury or property damage that may be caused or suffered while participation in this event or activity, or else I agree to bear the costs of such injury or damage to my child. I further certify that I am willing to assume and bear the costs of all risks that may arise or be created, directly or indirectly, through or by any such condition. 6. In the event that I file a lawsuit against DAS, I agree to do so solely in the state of Iowa and I further agree that the substantive and procedural laws in that state shall apply in any such action without regard to the conflict of laws rules thereof. I agree that if any portion of this agreement is found void or unenforceable, the remaining portions shall remain in full force and effect. 7. By signing this document, I acknowledge that if anyone is hurt or property is damaged during my participation or the participation of any of my children in this activity, I may be found by court of law to have waived my right to main a lawsuit against DAS on the basis of any claim from which I have released SA by signing this Agreement. 8. I have had sufficient opportunity to read this entire document. I have read it and understand it. I agree to be bound by its terms.
