Uniform / Dress Code Policy All students at The Sagemont School are required to wear uniforms. We feel uniforms project a positive image to the community and are cost-effective for parents. All uniforms must be purchased through the school’s store, The Lion’s Den, or Land’s End. To order from Land’s End go to www.landsend.com/school, click on Find my School and enter the School Preferred # 9000-5617-7. The school logo # is 0354013K. Administration reserves the right to determine if the dress is appropriate for the school environment. Full dress code is in effect on campus daily from time of arrival to time of dismissal or 6:00 p.m., whichever comes first. Altering of uniform bottom lengths is strictly prohibited. A student who wears inappropriate clothing in violation of the dress code will not be allowed to attend class until appropriate clothing can be acquired. I.

Uniform Shirts and Outerwear A. All shirts, t-shirts, sweatshirts, sweaters and jackets must have the school logo. B. Collared uniform shirts must be worn under any outerwear. No exceptions. C. Sweatshirts, sweaters, and jackets may not be worn around the waist. D. All shirttails must be tucked into slacks, shorts or skorts at all times. E. Plain, solid color (no writing) undershirts only may be worn under the uniform shirt. Undershirt sleeves must not be visible. Uniform Bottoms A. Pants and shorts must be worn at waist level and may not be rolled at the waistband. No frayed hems. B. Shorts, skorts, and skirts are to be minimally “fingertip length” and may not be rolled or cuffed at the hem. C. All pants, shorts, skirts, and skorts must be the color khaki and ordered from Lands’ End or purchased from the school’s store, The Lion’s Den. No exceptions. All shirts, pants, shorts, skirts, and skorts purchased through Land’s End must be embroidered with the school logo. The logo number is listed on the Land’s End information brochure. Belts A. Belts are required and must be visible. B. Belts must be solid brown, khaki, or black and must have a plain belt buckle. C. Belts are available for purchase at The Lion’s Den. Shoes and Socks A. Sneakers and flat closed shoes are required.

B. Shoes must have a closed toe and heel. Boots are not permitted. C. Plain, solid color (white, brown, khaki, navy, or black only) socks or stockings may be worn. VI. Hair A. Hair must be kept neat and well groomed. B. Natural hair color only. C. Hair styles may not be extreme or distract from the learning environment. D. Boy’s hair must be kept at collar length or shorter. E. Mohawks or “fauxhawks” are prohibited. VII. Hats and head coverings No hats, caps, bandanas, or other headdress are to be worn on campus during the school day. VII. Jewelry A. Jewelry must be conservative. No visible body piercings other than ears; i.e. no tongue rings, nose rings, eyebrow rings, etc. No flesh tube or tunnel piercings. B. No athletic wristbands. No more than 2 bracelets per arm. VIII. Other A. No visible tattoos. B. Torn, tattered, or frayed clothing is prohibited, including hems. C. Sunglasses may not be worn in school buildings. X. Dress Down Days A. Yoga pants, leggings or “jeggings”, skirts, or “sophie”-style shorts are not permitted. All shorts must be bermuda or athletic basketball shorts. B. See-through tops, spaghetti straps, or camisoles are not permitted. C. Inappropriate or offensive pictures, slogans, or language. D. Flip-flops, crocs, sandals, or slippers are not permitted.

Uniforms are supplied by InUnison School Apparel and can only be purchased through the Lion’s Den. Online ordering is also an option through Lands End. (Brochures can be picked up in the front office.) The Lion’s Den provides all uniform options including shirts, shorts, pants, skorts, various types of jackets, sweatshirts, belts, required PE shirts and PE shorts and Friday Shirts. School Supplies cost between $.25 and $2.00 and include items such as pencils, paper, CDs, notebooks, index cards, etc. Please take note that all profits made from the Lion’s Den are allocated back to our students and school via various PTO approved sponsorship requests from the Administration. The Lion’s Den constitutes the PTO’s largest fundraising activity. Volunteers are welcome and greatly appreciated! We have two shifts every day and can work with your schedule for whenever you are available.

The Sagemont Upper School

Lion’s Den

The Lion’s Den is the Sagemont Upper School (6th – 12th grade) store which is sponsored by and run by the PTO. Throughout the entire school year, the store sells a full supply of all your student’s uniform needs, as well as many necessary school supplies. The store is located on the first floor of The Sagemont Upper School between the office and the cafeteria. All clothes can be tried on for proper fit.

Purchasing Uniforms During The Summer Please download the Uniform Order Form on the school website under the “For Parents”, then “PTO” heading, fill it out if you know the sizes you need. You can drop it off in The Sagemont Upper School office or mail it to the school. - Please mark the outside of the envelope: ATTENTION: LION’S DEN. - Please make your check payable to: SAGEMONT SCHOOL PTO. - All Cash, Visa and MasterCard charges must be made in person. - We can NOT take credit card orders by mail or over the phone. - We do NOT accept American Express.
