QUALITY ASSURANCE A.

Furnish each aggregate material from single source throughout the Work.

PART 2 PRODUCTS 2.1

COARSE AGGREGATE MATERIALS A.

Coarse aggregate shall consist of crushed or uncrushed gravel, crushed stone. Or crushed slag, having hard, strong, durable pieces, free from adherent coatings.

B.

AGGREGATE MATERIALS FOR LEACHATE COLLECTION SYSTEM The material shall meet the requirements of Class I and Class II of ASTM D2321 nonangular 1/2 inch to 2 inch crushed stone. The material shall be worked into the pipe haunch to create lateral support for the pipe. The crushed stone shall be granite or similar approved non-calcareous material. PART 3 EXECUTION 3.1

EXCAVATION A.

Coordinate removal of excess materials from site at no cost to the Owner.

Remove excavated materials not meeting requirements for coarse aggregate materials and fine aggregate materials from site.

STOCKPILING A.

Stockpile materials on site.

Separate different aggregate materials with dividers or stockpile individually to prevent mixing.

D.

Direct surface water away from stockpile site to prevent erosion or deterioration of materials.

E.

Stockpile unsuitable materials on impervious material and cover to prevent erosion and leaching, until disposed of.

STOCKPILE CLEANUP A.

Remove stockpile, leave area in clean and neat condition. Grade site surface to prevent free standing surface water. END OF SECTION
