The Liturgy of the Day

Liturgia del Día

On this Laetare (Rejoice) Sunday, reconciliation is the watchword. All through Lent we have been focusing on those Ash Wednesday words, “Repent and believe in the Gospel.” Today, with Lent more than half over, we rejoice over the good news that God wants to reconcile with us. So let us pray today for the grace to persevere through the rest of Lent, preparing ourselves to celebrate Easter and our reconciliation with our loving God.

WHAT’S HAPPENING NOTE OF CAUTION TO PARISHIONERS A male Parishioner reported last Sunday, February 21, at the 5:00 PM Mass, that someone tried to pick-pocket his wallet as he went up to Communion from the side aisle. He felt someone come close to him, felt his shirt go up, and his wallet touched. He was able to secure it before it was taken. He turned and surprised a heavy-set woman, approximately 55 to 60 with dark graying hair. Both the woman and male accomplice left quickly through the side door. Another report came to light recently from a female Parishioner, following the Advent Penance Service in December. The women left her purse in the pew when she went to confession. When she returned, the purse was gone. It is sad that we must ask our Parishioners to be careful and aware in the house of God. Please report any suspicious activity to the Pastor or the office so that others may know to be more careful!
