10. Work undertaken that best illustrates capability: Eric brings over 30 years experience in energy sectors gained in the UK, Europe and international markets. His considerable experience includes projects for the liberalization and restructuring of the electricity industry in countries such as Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Nigeria, Guyana, South Africa, Russia, the UK and Ireland. Eric was the Team Leader for the TA 4908 - TAJ: Strengthening Corporate Management of Barki Tajik. Eric occupied this role for the duration of the project and was instrumental in achieving the project objectives. He has strong team management skills and technical ability coupled with his attention to detail and quality. As a former Regulation Manager for Yorkshire Electricity, he developed the regulatory regime and pricing arrangements for the electricity and gas sectors and has played an influential role in the European utility regulatory environment. In his previous role with Yorkshire Electricity as Strategic Planning Manager, he devised strategies and plans in the run up to privatisation. Since then he has been strategic adviser to several energy clients helping with their transition to new market structures and has developed strategies to support the new electricity and gas businesses. Eric started as the Power Sector Team Leader on this prestigious multi-million dollar project, directing and co-ordinating a team of more than 80 expat and Nigerian consultants in support of the market reform process as identified in the Presidential Roadmap for Electricity Market Reform. He was later promoted to the Power Sector Director, providing an overview of sector strategy, plus quality assurance on all projects contributing to the sector reform. Responsibilities included liaising with key Ministers, the Presidential Action Committee on Power, and the Presidential Task Force on Power on the implementation of the reform Roadmap. He coordinated the support to the Bureau of Public Enterprises in the disposal of the successor companies and with the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Committee in the establishment of the Transitional Electricity Market and the regulatory framework for the sector.
