We have many contacts and extensive experience in the area and can guide you and your guests into creating memories of a lifetime. Entertainment: We can help make suggestions with DJ’s, bands, musicians, and performers. We can arrange AV equipment and microphones to be set up wherever you need them. Wedding Planning: We highly recommend using a wedding planner to help your wedding dreams become a reality, especially if you are organizing a large celebration. A wedding planner can relieve the stresses of planning your wedding, work with any budget, and has many local contacts in the industry. On your wedding day, your wedding planner enables you to enjoy your day, and spend time with those closest to you, while she focuses on logistics behind the scenes. Photography might be one of your biggest expenses for the wedding but consider it an investment. After the big day has been and gone and you’ve danced the night away, all you will have left is the memories and great photography. A really great professional photographer makes all the difference when planning your wedding, and without a doubt worth the money. Rental equipment: There are several rental companies that can provide all that you would need for your perfect day including: marquise, chairs, tables, linens, dance-floors, glassware and dinnerware, outdoor kitchens, and anything else you can imagine. Décor and table top design: There are several companies which can take care of all the design and décor needs. They can come up with color schemes, themes, and original ideas, and create the perfect memories for your special day. We can arrange for linens whether is be crisp white or something more elaborate at a minimal cost to tie the whole theme together. Wedding license To get married in British Columbia, the Marriage Act requires that the couple get a Marriage License. You may get married during the three-month term of the license. Only one member of the couple needs to apply in person for a marriage license. The municipality in Whistler is the closest place to get one. The current fee for a Marriage License is $100.00 and must be paid at the time of application. To ensure accuracy of marriage certificates issued after registration and to verify legal age to apply for a marriage license, primary identification in the form of a birth certificate, IMM/Immigration form, Permanent Resident or Citizenship card confirming 1) full legal names 2) birth date 3) place of birth should be provided for both parties. You will also be asked to provide information on your current marital status and address. If the applicant does not have primary identification for the parties then the following documents may be utilized in a descending order of preference: Driver's License, Passport, Credit Card, Bank Card. The marriage license is issued at the time of application. The marriage license is nonrefundable, valid for three months and may not be extended. For more information go to:http://www.vs.gov.bc.ca/marriage/howto.html or call The Resort Municipality Of Whistler 1-604-932-5535 Floral arrangements There are several florists in Whistler which specialize in wedding arrangements and bouquets (see preferred contacts at end of this booklet). We recommend organizing the flowers well ahead of time, approx 3 months, as the most popular florists get booked up in advance during busy periods. There is one small florist in Pemberton but there availability is limited.

13

14 Wedding Cakes The best way to plan your wedding cake is to start collecting cut outs from wedding magazines of cakes that you like. Please note there are no wedding cakes available in Pemberton. Whistler is the nearest place to have a wedding cake made and we recommend that you organize your cake well in advance as they are extremely busy during wedding season. Why not let us, at Cedar View Estate, help you organize some thoughtful gifts for your guests and wedding party, to be delivered on arrival to the lodge.
