CONVENIENCE, SIMPLICITY, LOW PRICE BFR cable-trays, IMQ certified in compliance with EN 61537 Standard, allow the cables to exit in all directions, without obstacles and without requiring accessories and/or cable entries. They also allow excellent ventilation, heat dissipation and perfect cleaning of cables. Cutting, bending, assembling: bends, horizontal and “T” crosses can be made using the same cable-tray directly on site, depending on route requirements. Simplified stock control due to a limited number of article numbers.

FILMATIC FIXING CLIP
QUICK INSTALLATION Speed-lock couplers which two cable trays to be joined without requiring screws or special tools; the exclusive base box coupling of the cover; the Filmatic clip which enables the cable trays to be fitted to the OMEGA brackets without the need for bolts and being able to fit the cable tray to MAVISTRUT brackets without the need for accessories or bolts can cut installation time by up to 35%.

CORROSION RESISTANCE The BFR cable tray is available with three different surface types (Z100; EZ; GAC) with differing resistance values to corrosion and can therefore be installed both outdoors and indoors. The stainless steel AISI 304 L version is especially suitable for use in the food sector or for installations in particularly hostile environments.
“SPEEDY-CURVA” 90° AND 45° ELBOWS A full range of sizes and finishings of 90° and 45° plane curves enabling reduced installation times and improved quality and visual appeal. The absence of joins in curves using the “Speedy Curva” system make them highly resistant to mechanical action and chemical aggression. The absence of sharp edges reduces the risk of personal injury and damage to cables.

90° ELBOWS
Rounded edges to protect the cables and the user's hands during installation work (patented system). The double wire in the upper part of the BFR wire mesh cable tray ensures greater rigidity and higher resistance to mechanical loads.

CONTINUOUS HOT-DIP GALVANISATION OF THE WIRE BEFORE MANUFACTURING
The galvanisation is carried out by hot-dipping the wire in a molten zinc bath at 450-460°C. The Z 100 current quality corresponds to a coating thickness of 15-20 microns (i.e. a zinc mass of at least 100g/m2). The salt spray fog tests made confirm the excellent protection of the joints against corrosion, due to the cathode phenomenon. Regular cleaning of the welded points ensures appearance retention.
CONTINUOUS HOT-DIP GALVANISATION OF THE SHEET METAL BEFORE MANUFACTURING
The galvanisation is carried out by hot-dipping a pre-treated sheet of steel in a zinc bath at 450-460°C. The surface aspect of the Z 275 finish is due to the natural crystallisation of the zinc. The Z 275 current grade corresponds to a coating thickness of 21 microns (i.e. a zinc mass of at least 275g/m2 on both sides).
ELECTROLYTIC GALVANISATION AFTER MANUFACTURING
The BFR cable tray is protected using the following procedure: the zinc coating is applied to the steel by electrolysis after the wire mesh has been bent and welded evenly over the entire lenght of the cable tray. Coating thickness averages between 15-20 microns. The finish is glossy and shiny.
HOT-DIP GALVANISATION AFTER MANUFACTURING
This procedure involves hot-dipping the manufactured product into a zinc bath at approximatly 450°C. The average zinc mass is 335g/m2 on both sides, which corresponds to a coating thickness of about 50 microns (varying according to the thickness of the sheet). This surface treatment is recommended for damp and corrosive environments. The possible appearance of white stains - due to the formation of zinc carbonate hydroxide - does not affect the resistance to corrosion. The finish is matt.

The HP finish is a process that involves protecting the metal by combining two components: zinc (95%) and aluminium (5%). The simultaneous action of the two elements provides the metal with an active protection (zinc oxide) and a passive one (aluminium oxide) against atmospheric and corrosive agents. The HP finish is recommended in particularly heavy duty conditions (tunnels, the petrochemical industry, marine environments).
BICHROMATE ELECTRO-GALVANISATION
The electrolitic coating of chrome-plated zinc gives the finished product a golden tint. This surface treatment is used for some accessories (better corrosion resistance than electrolytic galvanisation).
ZINC/ALUMINIUM METAL COATING
DACRO
Dacromet is a non-electrolytic metal coating. It consists of zinc and aluminium in a chromium oxide alloy. This intrinsic passivation offers a protection of 500 hours against sea spray mist with a coating thickness of 5 micron.
SPRAY PAINTING WITH EPOXY-POLYESTER POWDER PAINT COATING (EPOXY) EPOXY
Thanks to a painting station integrated in the production line, GEWISS can provide the galvanized steel cable tray as well as the accessories coated with an epoxy resin and polyester based powder paint. The coating is applied with an automatic electrostatic spray paint gun after pre-treating the products and the appropriate surfaces. M1 Fire Class. Corrosion resistance as per EN ISO 9227 Salt Spray Fog. Standard colours - red RAL 3020 and grey RAL 7030; other colours available upon request (see RAL colour chart).

ELECTRICAL CONTINUITY In order to be safe, trunkings and metal cable trays must ensure an efficient electrical continuity which allows a suitable earth connection. GEWISS guarantees the electrical characteristics of BFR cable trays, after a series of tests carried out at its laboratories in Cenate Sotto (Italy) following the regulations established in the new IEC EN 61537 standard, which holds 5 mΩ/m as resistance limit without joints, and 50 mΩ/m when measuring at the ends of two lengths connected by joints.
Test carried out on a sample of cable tray 100 cm in length without jointing pieces. 5 mΩ/m is the maximum resistance limit allowed. The results obtained on samples 100x60 to 500x60 in section are below the limits established by the regulations.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR CUTTING WITH PLIERS MV51904 pliers allow precise and easy cutting operations to achieve, starting from the straight component, any horizontal or vertical change of direction directly on site. The particular asymmetrical structure allows the positioning of the blades near the connection point between wires (see picture) in order to achieve a perfectly clean cut, which is necessary to ensure the correct assembly of the parts.

POSITION OF PLIERS The pliers must be held at a slight inclination to the cable tray, to allow the flat side of the blades to approach the crossing wire correctly. These instructions ensure cutting without excessive waste, which would compromise the assembly.
CUTTING AND GALVANIC PROTECTION The cutting off of wires performed exclusively with pliers ensures galvanic protection up to the cutting point. At the beginning the asymmetrical blades carry out a mechanical action of compression on the material which is then cut off at about 1/2 mm thick. Due to the migration of zinc particles present on the surface, full protection is ensured.

Linear coupling without bolts: allows high resilience, a support on the bottom of the cable tray and it is a real timesaver
COMPONENTS
Insert a screwdriver into the joint hole and rotate as far as the coupling on the bottom of the cable tray.
For each coupling two speedlock couplers are required.

COMPONENTS Rigid coupler
Universal counter clamping
It allows connection between two cable trays through a profile fixed on the sides with counter clamping complete with nuts and bolts.
Position the two profiles on the outer sides of the cable tray and block with the counter clamping as shown in the picture .
No. 2 rigid couplers and no. 6 counter clamping will be needed (3 on each side).
JOINTING PIECES WITH BOLTS (e.g. MV 51 420) HOW TO CARRY IT OUT

2 cable trays can be joined only using bolts and plates.
Fit the two edges to be joined and brace them using bolts, plates and counter clamping making sure the bolts are positioned outwards of the cable trays.

CHANGE OF HORIZONTAL DIRECTION USING PLIERS 90° WIDE RADIUS CORNER HOW TO CARRY IT OUT 1 - Use a minimum length cable tray as shown in the table.
2 - Use the pliers to cut the wires from the base and from one side (as shown in figure) and take away the number of parts P shown in the table.
3 - Prepare and position the internal edges and secure them using a number of coupling plates M (e.g. MV 51 420) and finally with counter clamping and bolts (MV 51 421 and MV 66 403 respectively).
4 - By following these simple instructions it is possible to achieve wide radius corners with dimensions as shown in the table.

CHANGE OF VERTICAL DIRECTION UPWARD AND/OR DOWNWARD CURVES In order to carry out this operation simply cut the wires on the sides and manually bend the cable tray. This system allows endless changes of level and inclination, so that the whole structure can fulfil any requirement during installation, without the need of other specially-built accessories.
HOW TO CARRY IT OUT 1 - Use the pliers to cut the wires on the sides as explained in the paragraph "Cutting with pliers".
2 - Bend the component to obtain the required angle.
BFR RANGE
In order to make upward or downward curves with a wider radius of curvature, cut two or more sides.

Multiple cuts made in the length of the cable tray allow obstacles on the route to be bypassed.
