Rio de Janeiro - Copacabana Palace Since its Art Deco doors swung open in 1923, Copacabana Palace has been welcoming the rich and famous. Superbly positioned overlooking Copacabana Beach, soak up the sun in the magnificent pool or join Brazil’s style setters at the Piano Bar. Each room is unique, featuring fine period furniture and original works of art.

Iguazu - Hotel das Cataratas The only hotel located within the Iguassu National Park, Hotel das Cataratas enjoys an unrivalled location just a short stroll from the sensational waterfalls. A Portuguese-colonial residence, this classic Belmond (former Orient-Express) hotel is redolent with the atmosphere of lazy days lounging on a veranda and features a large swimming pool and has two restaurants and a bar.

Falkland Islands - Malvinas House Hotel The accommodation in the Falklands is well below the standard we normally provide. We will be accommodated in Malvina lodge, locally rated three stars. All rooms are adequate but far from luxurious. We are sure that you will enjoy the visit to the Falklands even if the accommodation is not of the standard we seek.

Puerto Varas - Cumbres Patagonicas Surrounded by nature and offering a unique view over Lake Llanquihue the hotel’s panoramic view is one of a kind. La Pinta - Galapagos While exploring the Galapagos, the group will be split in two and we will use Yacht La Pinta and another similar vessel. A crew of 27 will provide the best possible onboard service and the vessel features Zodiacs and a glass bottom boat for exploration.

morning is free to relax; Take a guided tour through the famous Maracana Stadium; or perhaps visit a jewellery museum and the shops of Ipanema. Today lunch is sure to be a culinary highlight as we feast at one of the city’s premier Brazilian Churrascaria restaurants, featuring over 20 different cuts of meat. After lunch we take the scenic trip through the Tijuca Rainforest to the summit of Corcovado Mountain, with its imposing statue of ‘Christ the Redeemer’ overlooking Guanabara Bay, and pass by Rio’s magnificent beaches, lagoon and city area. This evening enjoy the vibrancy of Carnival in Rio at a spectacular Samba Show Welcome Dinner. Day 4 Rio de Janeiro. Today you choose your Rio experience – enjoy shopping for Brazil’s fine jewellery, handicraft and numerous bargains; join the ‘Cariocas’ on the beach; take a revealing tour of Rio’s Favelas (shanty towns) or enjoy a morning tour to Candelaria Church and the National Museum. Late this afternoon we take the cable car up Sugar Loaf Mountain for a stunning view over the beaches and harbour as the sun sets and Rio comes alive with twinkling lights. Choose from a selection of restaurants for a dine-around dinner this evening. Day 5 Iguazu Falls. Rejoin our Private Jet for the flight to Iguazu Falls, arguably the world’s greatest waterfalls, stretching between Brazil and Argentina. This afternoon we will take a walking tour to the base of the falls. Feel the power of the immense falls as a walkway leads you across the water to the base of the thundering torrent. Visit the world class Bird Park featuring brightly coloured macaws and toucans or take an exhilarating optional boat trip to the base of the falls. We will stay at the Belmond (former Orient-Express) das Cataratas Hotel, the only hotel within the Brazilian National Park, giving exclusive access to the falls in the evening and early morning. Day 6 Stanley, Falkland Islands. We depart Iguazu this morning and rejoin our Private Jet

for the flight to the Falkland Islands, some 300 miles off the coast of Argentina. We arrive at RAF Mount Pleasant later this afternoon and drive to the township of Stanley where we will stay at the comfortable Malvina House Hotel for two nights. Day 7 Stanley. Today you may choose from three touring options. Take an island tour to see some of the sights that became well known as a result of the 1982 Falkland Islands War. We visit San Carlos, the site of the British cemetery and a small museum dedicated to the conflict before travelling onward to Darwin and Goose Green. Alternatively, visit Volunteer Point, the largest, most accessible King Penguin colony in the world outside of South Georgia or Bluff Cove, home to the rare Gentoo Penguin, followed by a visit to a traditional working farm. We will come together this evening for a special dinner. Day 8 Puerto Varas, Chile. Late this morning we fly on our Private Jet to Puerto Montt in Chile, where we transfer to the pretty town of Puerto Varas where we will stay at the five star Cumbres Patagonicas, with lovely views of Lake Llanquihue. Enjoy dinner at our hotel this evening. Day 9 Bariloche, Argentina. This is the heart of Patagonia. We spend the day admiring the great Lake District, shared between Chile and Argentina. We travel by minibus and boats, across the lake chain that unites the Andes with Bariloche. Bariloche is located in the western area of the Province of Rio Negro, in the heart of the Nahuel Huapi National Park. This evening enjoy dinner at our hotel. Stay at the luxurious Llao Llao Hotel & Resort for three nights. Day 10 Bariloche. Travel by bus beside Nahuel Huapi Lake and continue to Campanario Hill where we enjoy a chairlift ride offering unforgettable views of Perito Moreno, Nahuel Huapi lakes and Bariloche city. We continue our way across the Angostura river before

enjoying lunch at a local brewery. You may choose to stay on and sightsee in Bariloche or return to your luxury lodge for a free afternoon. Spend the day at the magnificent Llao Llao Hotel and Resort and enjoy the wonderful facilities including a world class golf course and relaxing day spa. We arrive early this afternoon and enjoy a brief sightseeing tour before checking into the stylish Alvear Palace Hotel. Decked out in gold, rich tapestry, marble and Louis XVI furniture, it is every bit as palatial as its name suggests. Stay at the Alvear Palace Hotel for two nights. Day 13 Buenos Aires. Resume our exploration of South America’s most cosmopolitan capital and visit the famous ornate tombs of Recoleta Cemetery and the colourful Boca District. After lunch by the waterfront, this afternoon is free to stroll, shop and soak up the atmosphere along the city’s colourful streets. This evening we attend a spectacular Tango Show including an Argentine Steak Dinner. Day 14 Cuzco, Peru. Our Private Jet takes us direct to Cuzco, the ancient Incan capital. Enjoy time wandering around this amazing city or relax at your hotel before enjoying a special dinner this evening. We will stay at the JW Marriott Cuzco for three nights, where the cobblestoned streets of the city’s historical heart are at your doorstep. Note: Cuzco is located 3,400m/11,000ft above sea level. in the Incan empire, the massive ruins of Sacsayhuaman Fortress, a pre – Incan masterpiece, and Saint Christophers View Point, located in the hills above Cuzco and offering tremendous views of the city and its Cathedrals. Enjoy lunch followed by either a free afternoon or a visit to Tambomachay Baths, its fountain fed by a spring, and Kenko, a rock sanctuary with its monolithic altar. Tonight choose to dine at our hotel or join your tour manager at a local restaurant for Peruvian cuisine. Day 16 Machu Picchu. This morning we join the iconic Orient-Express operated Hiram Bingham train, and travel in luxury to the Lost City of the Incas – Machu Picchu. The city is still intact (except for the straw roofs) and we will explore a maze of empty chambers, palaces and stairways carved from solid rock. It truly is an awe-inspiring sight. We rejoin the Hiram Bingham train this evening for our return to Cuzco. Day 17 Guayaquil, Ecuador. Enjoy a leisurely morning prior to our afternoon flight to the cosmopolitan city of Guayaquil and look forward to your exploration of the Galapagos Islands. We will stay at a luxury hotel for one night. Day 18 Galapagos Islands. The Galapagos Islands are not strictly South America but they are among Latin America’s most wonderful sights. More than a sight, they are an experience you will never forget. We depart this morning aboard a local airline for the two hour flight to Baltra in the Galapagos Islands. On arrival we will embark on one of two expedition ships for our three night cruise of these remarkable islands. Both ships offer excellent standards in this remote part of the world with comfortable cabins and suites, excellent food and complimentary drinks with dinner, combined with experienced Naturalist Guides and landing craft. Join your crew and fellow guests later this afternoon for a short briefing followed by a Welcome Dinner. Spend

The Galapagos archipelago is world renowned for its unique and fearless wildlife – much of which was an inspiration for Charles Darwin’s Theory of Evolution. Sea lions, penguins, marine iguanas and different bird species are likely to be encountered during our unforgettable expedition. Over the next few days you can expect to make numerous remote landings and be inspired by the expert knowledge of our naturalists. Each evening our Expedition Leaders and Naturalists will give a debrief on the day’s activities and details of the plans ahead. Day 20 Galapagos Islands. Enjoy another remarkable day as we explore either Santa Cruz, Floreana, Espanola, San Cristobal, North Seymour or Bartalome Islands. Today may bring the opportunity of snorkelling with sea lions and penguins. Whilst each of our vessels will follow a different route and visit different sites, you can be assured of a unique and rewarding experience. Day 21 Hamilton, Bermuda. We return to Guayaquil today on a local airline and reboard our Private Jet for our flight to Bermuda, the oldest remaining British overseas territory, where we arrive late this evening and transfer to the Fairmont Hamilton Princess Hotel for three nights. Day 22 Hamilton. Enjoy a leisurely morning at the hotel or perhaps take a short walk into Hamilton and discover this small capital city. This afternoon you have two options to choose from. Join our local guide as we discover Bermuda’s historic West End and Royal Naval Dockyard. After a tour of the Bermuda Maritime Museum you will have ample time to admire the breathtaking views from the Commissioners House, and purchase souvenirs at many of the fascinating arts and crafts workshops. Alternatively you may wish

to spend a relaxing afternoon at the hotel, and perhaps enjoy a round of golf at one of Bermuda’s nine courses. Enjoy a dine-around dinner at a selection of fine restaurants this evening. Day 23 Hamilton. Today you have two options to choose from. Discover the East End and the UNESCO Heritage Site of St George. Settled in 1612, St George is the oldest continuously occupied town of English origin in the New World. Enjoy a magical old world walking tour and learn more about Bermuda’s culture, history and heritage. After enjoying lunch at a local restaurant we visit the beautiful Crystal Caves before returning to our hotel for a free afternoon. Alternatively spend a relaxing day at our hotel, and perhaps pamper yourself at one of several spa facilities. Enjoy a special Farewell Dinner tonight. Day 24 Bermuda to London Luton. This morning we join our private jet for the final time for our flight home. Arrive in London early this evening.
