Welcome to the new sale barn at the Ashworth Farm, hosting the annual Ashworth and Guests Bull Sale. These are exciting times for both generations of the Ashworth family. The Ashworth Farm and Ranch portion of the sale is a tremendous offering sired by their walking herd bull battery as well as a selection of the top AI sires in the Simmental industry. The reds will again be highlighted by the walking herd bull LFE Towa who is really coming into his own. The Red Rock sons will attract a lot of interest given the tremendous demand his daughters have created at the Shades of the Prairies the last two years. The Red Bull sons will be a different bloodline on offer from the Ashworths. The black Simmental bulls will be highlighted by one of the largest offering of Odin sons in Canada, a sire that is destined to make a difference. The Black Impact sons are a very impressive group making their debut this year. The Oil Baron sons are bound to have some fans sale day. Ashworth’s have used the First Dream bull in their AI program with success for a number of years. The Tessiers have once again brought a set of front end bulls to compliment the offering. The largest red sire group will be the Dr Phil sons that are an outcross for many breeders. The Buckeye sons will make their debut in this area at the sale, a very proven pedigree. Tessiers will again offer a very strong group of Red Ace and Red Eyes. Probably their most intriguing group will be the Rampage sons - certainly a bull there has been some hype about. Both programs have done a great job of combining walking herd sires with very elite lead off AI sires. Bouchard Livestock has great interest in these two programs as we have been involved in assisting them in sourcing foundation females over the years. Bull Development & Delivery Ashworth Farm & Ranch and Tessier Simmentals will keep bulls free of charge until May 1. Buyers need to insure the bulls while being cared for by the consignors. Delivery Option A: Bulls can be picked up at Ashworth’s on sale day and a $100 discount will be deducted from purchase price. Delivery Option B: At the buyer’s option and risk, the bulls can be returned to the consignor’s farm and delivered anywhere in Western Canada at no charge to central locations. Ashworth Farm & Ranch Welcome to the 9th Annual Ashworth Farm & Ranch & Guest Bull Sale. I would firstly like to extend a big thank you to the many bidders and buyers of our past sales. Your continued support of our program is greatly appreciated. We have enjoyed getting to know our customers and always look forward to renewing old acquaintances and making new ones. In 2012 we look forward to holding our sale on farm in our new sale facility. I would like to thank Rhonda @ Optimum Genetics for working with us to hold our last 5 sales at their facility south of Regina but as we move forward it seemed that the logical thing to do long term was to move our sale home. I realize that for some this makes it a longer distance to travel than in past years but hope that you will take the time to come to the farm and view the bulls and our entire program in its practical environment. We have again assembled a very uniform and functional set of bulls with hair and stoutness ready to sire calves that will be in demand. There has been no better time than the present to invest in genetics that will have a positive effect on your cow herd and your bottom line for years to come. As in other years all bulls 12 months of age or older at testing time will be semen tested. Bulls under 12 months will be scrotal measured and tested at a later date. Our bulls are 100% guaranteed and we will make sure that in the case of an accident or injury you will have a bull to breed your cows with.
