EXPLORERS PROGRAM Completed Kindergarten through Age 13. This eleven-week program provides lots of fun and activities for your child at our Bethlehem YMCA site. Campers are divided into age groups and weekly themes are incorporated into games, sports, arts and crafts. Field Trips and community outreach programs will be provided throughout the eleven weeks. Children have recreational swimming every day in the YMCA’s indoor pool and Friday is water activity day. This program is based in our building and on our outdoor playground. Breakfast, lunch and a morning and afternoon snack are provided. Campers must bring a water bottle (labeled with their name), set of extra clothing, swimsuit, and towel. Our space is limited, so sign up today! #1 Schools Out Jun 13-17 Come on out and meet new friends, build friendships that will last a life time. #2 Super Hero Week Jun 20-24 In our super heroes’ week we will meet some real life community heroes. #3 USA Rocks Jun 27-Jul 1 Come Celebrate America’s birthday! Camp is held on our thirteen-acre property in Easton where we spend the majority of our camp time outdoors enjoying our natural environment! Campers experience activities such as team building, arts and crafts, sports and fitness, swimming, and archery each day. Campers will need to pack a non-perishable and nut free lunch and snack, a water bottle, swimsuit, towel and sun block each day. Theatre-Improv Age 8-14 years Jul 25-29 Love theatre? Campers can learn and improve skills such as storytelling, movement, and spontaneity while following the biggest rule in improv: "always say yes!" At the end of the week, campers will showcase some of the skills they learned.

KAMP KATONGA Grade 1 to Grade 5 BUSY BEAVER CAMP Completed kindergarten Our summer camp is held at our facility and includes two days per week at Heil Pool, morning snack provided, as well as an optional lunch and afternoon snack. Like many YMCA Youth programs, it is about learning skills, developing character and making friends. But few environments are as special as Day Camp, where kids become a community as they learn both how to be more independent and how to contribute to a group as they engage in physical, social and educational activities. DANCE/GYMNASTICS Our Dance and Gymnastics Camps feature an end-ofthe-week Parent’s Showcase Little Princess Ballet Age 4-7 years Jul 18-22 Young dancers will learn and act out scenes from a play. Students will also create a new craft each day that pertains to the play. Attire: Leotard, tights, ballet skirt, pink ballet shoes. Happy Hip-Hop Age 5-10 years Aug 8-12 Dancers will learn beginner to intermediate Hip-Hop and Jazz terminology and steps. Attire: Comfortable dance pants or leotard. Jedi Training Age 5-10 years Jun 18-22 For seekers of Jedi Wisdom! Jedi Training is a fun way for your kids to stay fit while encouraging creativity along with the benefits that come from respect and meditation. Flag Football Age 7-13 years Aug 1-5 Children will learn passing and other aspects of the game that will keep them active and help them develop skills such as hand-eye coordination. In addition, children will have an opportunity to develop leadership skills and build self-esteem as they improve their technique. Adventures is Art Age 6-10 years Jun 20-24 Craft a creation! Young artists are introduced to a variety of art media that may include drawing, painting, clay creations, paper mache, and much more. Please send campers in appropriate clothing or with a smock. Cupcake Wars I Age 9 and older Jun 20-24 Cupcake Wars II Age 9 and older Jul 25-29 The competition is on in the sweetest way as campers learn the basics of baking and then let their creative side go wild as they create and decorate cupcakes. Throughout the camp, beginning with the basics of kitchen safety, campers will participate in hands-on culinary classes in the Kitchen at the Allentown YMCA and YWCA all while using real recipes easy enough to duplicate with the family at home. We also cover nutrition, ingredient information, and food safety. The end of camp will culminate in campers cooking lunch for members of the Allentown YMCA and YWCA.

AQUATICS CAMPS Guard Start Age 11-14 Jul 18-22 American Red Cross Guard Start: Lifeguarding Tomorrow™ provides a foundation of lifeguarding and life skills. For youth with swimming skills, this program makes an ideal transition between Red Cross Learn-to-Swim and the Lifeguard Training Course. Guard Start focuses on five key areas including; prevention of aquatic accidents, fitness and swimming skills, emergency response, leadership skills and professionalism as a lifeguard. Kids must also pass the prerequisites before allowed to participate in Guard Start. Ability to swim the front crawl for 25 yards continuously while breathing to the front or side. Ability to tread water for 1 minute using arms and legs. Ability to submerge and swim a distance of 10 feet underwater.

Science Camp Age 5-13 years Aug 8-12 Do you crave fun and exciting science experiments that are mind riveting, challenging, and educational? Do you want to engage in a hands on experience, acquire knowledge, and be able to impress your family and friends? If so, sign up for this amazing and well-rounded science camp experience at the Allentown YMCA and YWCA! Kids will discover the fun in science topics through exciting experiments and interactive experiences that will spark their curiosity. After covering several science topics campers will be able to select from a variety of science projects to be completed on the last day of camp and entered into a science fair.

Rowing Camp Age 14-18 Aug 1-5 Enhance your aerobic and anaerobic endurance with competitive rowing! Campers will learn the fundamentals of competitive rowing including; proper technique and mechanics, cardiovascular training and racing strategies. Campers will train on our Concept 2 Erg machines at the Allentown YMCA and YWCA and have the ability to test their newly acquired skills on the Lehigh River. Campers will finish their training by racing on the water with the assistance of the Lehigh University rowing team.

DANCE CAMP Step It Up Dance Age 7-13 years Jun 27-Jul 1 Dance like a pop star while learning cool hip hop moves in this fast-paced, high-energy camp. It’s designed for children who love to jump, exercise, and dance. Emphasis is on energy, rhythm and attitude!
