Buying a new home is never an easy task, buying a new home while pregnant with our second child only added to the stress, but as in life you adapt and overcome. A lot of the decisions during the process where made easier knowing we were dealing with a reputable home builder. After living in a large home for 20 years, it was hard to decide if we were ready for condo living. Would we miss the large space, the garden, the workshop and the privacy of our own home? For months, we searched in Barrie for a condo but what we saw was mostly too small and too pricey. Then we heard about Pratt Homes Manhattan project so we ventured to investigate further. After meeting with the sales staff and viewing the plans, we decided that this was the place for us. We met with Cynthia at the design center and we were able to customize the condo to our needs and our taste and to give it our own stamp. Now that we are living in our condo, we know that we made the right decision. We love the finishes, the beautiful landscaping, the space, the underground parking and having an elevator. We could not be happier. We have a home again and it suits us to be able to go away for the winter and simply lock the door. No more shovelling snow or grass cutting for us. In 2010, I knew I needed to move from my large four bedroom home in Newmarket to a smaller home or condo. My son and daughter-in-law have lived in Barrie for a number of years and love the city, so they encouraged me to move to Barrie. My son heard of the new Pratt development, called Manhattan, being planned for Ferndale Drive next to the Bear Creek Eco Park. He suggested I investigate this project as it was near their home. So, I did. I met with Bruno and was impressed with the plans and bought a condo, site unseen with a view onto the Eco Park. Bruno was so patient with me visiting the Sales Centre every week or two to ask about the progress. I was pretty excited about my move. Later in the process I was able to meet with Cynthia to discuss colours, cupboards, flooring, etc. She was so helpful with suggestions and ideas that I would not have considered and her advice made a big difference in the quality and décor of my new home. After my move in December 2011 there were a few deficiencies. However, all of my concerns have been dealt with promptly and professionally by Ramona, the Pratt Service consultant. I am so pleased with my condo. I have been here now for a year and a half and never tire of the beautiful view of the trees and other flora from my balcony in each and every season. It is so peaceful and a beautiful place to call home. My experience with the whole process has been positive during the building of the condo and since I have moved in.
