Senior Team: The 1st team squad is established at the very top of the amateur game in Scotland. The current XV comprises of various representative talents ranging from Glasgow U18’s and U20’s to full Glasgow professionals plus a number of highly regarded club players who have represented Scotland at various levels. The club has a strong foothold in the community and town of Ayr and with recent successes in the Scottish Cup as well as the Scottish Premier One League title, Ayr RFC can be seen as a club with a very bright future, not forgetting a proud past. Senior Reserve: A vibrant, successful 2nd XV is vital to every club but particularly at Premiership level. It comprises players who wish to enjoy a regular, competitive game at a high standard and it is the main vehicle for those whose game is developing, especially young players coming through the ranks. It also provides the important function of hosting those players who are challenging for 1st XV places. Our 2nd XV team plays in the 1st Division of the Reserve National Leagues. Millbrae: Millbrae Rugby Club was formed in 2006 and entered the West Regional League in Division 3 for the 2006/7 season. After three successive promotions to West Regional League 1 the Millbrae team has found a balance of maturity and skill to compete at their right level. The club also enjoys a healthy social side in their balanced approach to fraternizing, training and playing. With frequent nights out, annual dinners, overseas tours and 7's and 10's competitions, there is something for all the players at whatever stage they are at in their rugby playing careers. Sponsorship Opportunities contact Andrew Dunlop: [email protected]

Junior Rugby: As well as an incredibly successful senior section to Ayr Rugby Club it is also lucky to have one of the strongest and healthiest youth sections in the country. With over 300 registered junior players (P4-U18) and a micros (P1-P3) section of around 40 regulars, Ayr does more than its share when it comes to providing opportunities for youngsters in sport, not only at elite level, with healthy numbers playing both representative rugby for Glasgow and Scotland at age grade level, but also as a diversionary activity for individuals likely to commit offences or individuals from difficult backgrounds. It is also a social hub for your young average rugby enthusiast. Ayr’s youth section is supported by a fantastic volunteer group of parents and committee members. The youth sections are also big supporters of the 1st XV with a regular turn out on most Saturdays wearing their club colours. This in turn creates a great vibe around a very unified club. ACADEMY SPONSOR Since its establishment in 2011, young players from the ages of 12-18 have benefited from a more individualised focused programme through being a part of the academy. The academy is set up to enhance the holistic development of the young people who are part of it. We have had many players develop into the regional pathway squads which is very pleasing. Our goal is to work in tandem with the SRU so that players are at a higher level should they be picked up to progress further in the player development pathway. Our goal is to make our best young players at Ayr better so that they can achieve their potential at whatever level that may be.

WOMEN’S SPONSOR Ayr has recently expanded its outreach by offering women’s sessions at Millbrae. Between local schools and clubs, Ayr has seen a massive increase in the uptake of women’s rugby. With three schools in the area now offering girls’ rugby at U15’s and U18’s level, a club side was inevitable. With two of the schools winning local and national events they were always going to be competitive. Current numbers at the club are over 40 from U15’s to seniors and growing every week with the senior side competing in the BT Women’s National League Division 1, further adding to the strength and support of the famous mighty Pink and Blacks!
