Chairperson’s Report FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 JUNE 2014

May I take this opportunity to formally thank you for the honour of being your Chairman for the past year. Many Chairmen of Registered Clubs in New South Wales preparing an annual report are faced with the onerous task of putting the best spin on what may have been a difficult year; overstating the positives and understating the negatives. At times as I considered what I should say in this report, I had the distinct feeling that I should do the reverse to some degree, lest the club be seen as boastful. But I do not. We are what we are and transparency is paramount. You will see that, apart from the report of General Manager, Michael Coghlan, there are a number of other reports, including, of course, the financial report for the year ending 30 June 2014. I do not propose repeating what has been written by others but rather commend those reports to you. I will highlight some achievements or occurrences which lead me to believe that, by chance, this has been one of the most significant years in the existence of this Club. In short, consider the record financial result, the Rugby League results, the significant results obtained by our bowls members, the probable acquisition of Bay Sports Club, the purchase of a motel, the affiliation with Easts, the impending development of further playing fields and the construction of the gymnasium. FINANCIAL AND MANAGEMENT The statement of comprehensive income for the year shows a record high. By a long way. More than $3million compared with last year’s $1.89million. Look at the revenue and then compare the cost of achieving that result this year to last year. How was that achieved? The answer is relatively simple. Look to the training, guidance and performance of the 330 staff members led by the General Manager and his small, efficient and dedicated management team. I said at the end of last year that what I observed in our venues is a commitment to quality. Trying to be the best that one can. Doing one’s best without training and guidance may be of little impact. The further ingredient that your management instils in staff is efficiency. So, quality (which must include care and all that that conveys), together with efficiency is the result. Your management has the unwritten edict that as far as they can, let any who come within our fold, leave us, if they do, better equipped than when they came. Providing they come with a willingness to learn, they will. Accolades are due to your employees. I urge you to express your appreciation of their efforts as you come in contact with each staff member, whoever that may be. To Michael Coghlan, I thank you for your vision, direction and dedication to your role. You are continually striving to do better, whether currently or looking to the future. The leadership that you provide to your management team and your staff is immeasurable.

Chairperson’s Report (cont.) FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 JUNE 2014

SPORTING You will recall that at the end of 2012 after the conduct of a review of our Rugby League commitments, your Board made the decision to move from the Newcastle competition to enter the New South Wales VB Cup competition. This despite the fact that we would be competing against teams supplied with players in the NRL. The then coach, Paul Stringer, played a key role in getting us into that competition in 2013 and having us perform so creditably in that first year. May I take this opportunity of thanking him for his drive, skill and commitment over so many years. This year it became obvious that there were people starting to take notice of us. Without going through all of the details, feelers were put out by us to some NRL clubs looking for support for our team. This led to an approach by the Sydney Roosters (Easts), initially with limited involvement from them but later attracting a proposal that our team replace Newtown Jets as the feeder club for Easts. Would this have happened if we had stayed in Newcastle? No chance. I do not suggest that we planned it this way and accept that we had placed our Club in the position of being in the right place at the right time. This means that one can realistically envisage a Wyong junior playing all his football here, climbing to a position in Easts NRL side. Of course, we provide that opportunity to all players on the Central Coast and indeed beyond. This is arguably the pinnacle of what we can achieve for our juniors. Having reached that pinnacle, the next move is the more intensive development of the juniors. I have sent to all involved in our achievements this year your thanks and the thanks of the Board. This year in terms of Rugby League achievements has been one for the ages. Four out of four in the grand finals and win three out of four. NSWVB Cup team reaching and winning a game in the semi-finals. Away from the fields and note please our sponsorship of the Central Coast Centurions in the report. Our relationship with both Central Coast Rugby League and Country Rugby League is arguably at an all-time high. I also commend you to the various reports regarding the performances of our lawn bowlers. They too are to be congratulated on their many achievements. They are certainly making an impact in the various competitions of late. Similarly, our soccer teams from the Budgewoi venue have had an excellent year and without repeating what is said in that report, may I simply say on your behalf, congratulations on the achievements of all your teams. Some figures on sport generally, if I may: We have some 647 junior and senior Rugby League players; 627 junior and senior soccer (football) players; 1010 lawn bowlers. Chairperson’s Report (cont.) FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 JUNE 2014

COMMUNITY Our community commitment overlaps with the sporting sphere. We provide our grounds and facilities for a variety of sporting and community groups free of charge. Wyong Shire Council and other local government bodies are under immense pressure to provide sporting and community venues, but struggle to cope with that demand. We help considerably to meet those needs and that is and will always be a part of what we do. We have a wonderful working relationship with Wyong Shire Council and are presently working on an arrangement which will allow us to provide further sporting fields north of Morry Breen oval. During the year, we completed the construction of the gymnasium. Some 550 of our members are involved in sub-clubs of various interests. We welcome any such activities as being a part of what we can do for our community. May I take you to our community support report. We help in various ways, including financially, over 200 local community, sporting and charity groups. We do our best to support our indigenous community in a way that is compatible with their needs as they see it and not as we see it. We provide our rooms and the Club facilities in all of our clubs to organisations or well-meaning groups, free of charge, be it a group of 4 to a fund raising activity of 1200. I have mentioned the 330 employees. Just for a moment convert that into the numbers of families who depend upon the income so derived. Sure not all of them have families, but so many do. For them it is imperative that we continue to achieve, develop and grow. As far as is possible, management use locally sourced labour, products and services. Obviously, this too adds to our local economic growth. We should not lose sight of the fact that the Club facilities that we provide are enjoyed by many of our more senior members and visitors who enjoy regular outings, entertainment and meals. Earlier this year, at the same time as the Rip Taylor coached NSWVB cup side qualified for the semi-finals, a fund raiser was held for a member of our community upon whom was inflicted a terrible handicap. The way in which your Club dealt with this coincidence moved me to send a message to all involved and I ask your leave to repeat the same below. “Last weekend was a most significant one in terms of our continued growth. We originally came from a relatively small gathering of men and women, all family and community devoted, with a common goal to provide better facilities and opportunities for not only our youth but all of us. We have shocked the Rugby League world by the efforts of our NSW VB Cup team and I have conveyed to Rip and his team the appreciation of us all. To achieve what they have already done is unbelievable, except that they did believe. Well done. When I conveyed our best wishes to Rip, he was at pains to point out what our other

Chairperson’s Report (cont.) FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 JUNE 2014

teams had done, not only in the seniors but also the juniors. Family like. Well done to all of them. Keep believing in yourselves and those beside and behind you. Saturday night saw the gathering together of our community for the benefit of one of us who found that he and his family had been plunged into a most desperate situation about which I will not elaborate. We all know of the family’s plight. What we did however was work together with the organisers to ensure that what was probably the largest event ever held at the Club was a success. To simply say a success is not enough. You can preface that word with whatever superlative you choose. It will work. All reports are the same. We, you, those staff who worked, ran, planned, served, poured, supervised were the ultimate in professionalism. You were quality. Most importantly, you cared. The whole of the Central Coast is talking about you in the best possible way. To those of you who did not work Saturday, you are also deserving of accolades, because you are part of a team, who as a whole, care about your work and, like our players, train and commit to achieve the best outcome for our members. Thank you.” The Club is fortunate to have a large number of supportive sponsors. It would be inappropriate for me to single out any one of them. You will see reference to those sponsors throughout the Club premises and on your behalf I convey to them our grateful thanks for their contribution to what we are achieving. As I have alluded to before, we are part of a large community as are these sponsors and I urge you to reciprocate by supporting them whenever possible. YOUR BOARD Personally and on your behalf I convey to each of our directors my thanks and appreciation for the open, committed, frank and co-operative way in which they have carried out their duties as directors. Each of them has contributed in their own way but I would especially like to convey to Phil Langley my appreciation for his efforts as Rugby League Director in what has been a challenging, exciting and indeed, exhilarating year. Members, I am sure that you appreciate that we are no longer just a footy club, but rather a massive corporate player in Wyong Shire and elsewhere. Total assets exceeding $61million. Membership increasing by more than 1500, to 38,335. A wages bill of more than $13.5million per annum. Our efforts to amalgamate with the Bay Sports Club was a great example of the operation of the Board. All involved, carrying out inspections, examining figures and projections, then reaching a decision to proceed with, of course approval of you, our members.

VALE During the year, we lost a number of members and friends of the Club. It is difficult to name all of those members lost for fear that one may be overlooked, thus causing unnecessary pain. I feel however compelled to acknowledge the passing of Ann Breen, a great stalwart of the Club, especially in the early days. Beloved wife of patron and life member Morry, mother to Jim, David and Evan. The passing of Ann is maybe a catalyst for us to consider a formal acknowledgment of those many ladies who supported their partners, children and kin in the pursuit of our ideals over the years. THE FUTURE Much of what is contained in this report relates to after financial year activities. It is difficult to do otherwise than to include all so that this report as far as possible deals with the position of the Club as at the date of this report. The motel purchase settled about 9 September 2014. Hopefully, once the legislative requirements are finalised, the de-amalgamation of Bay Sports and subsequent amalgamation with us will finalise early in 2015. Our present intention then is to bed that down and generally consolidate and move forward with the appropriate amount of caution, having regard to the extraordinary developments this year. Thank you all for your continued support of our Club. Kevin Pearce Chairman

General Manager’s Report FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 JUNE 2014

The last few years have been very challenging for many Clubs however I am very pleased to report that our Clubs have continued to prosper. We have continued to upgrade our facilities so we present modern, friendly and safe environments for our members and visitors. Our staff are the best in the business and they can all be very proud of that fact. They go over and above to ensure you our members always have an enjoyable experience when visiting any of our Clubs. The past year has been one of consolidation and planning for the future, which will include the amalgamation with Bay Sports Club, if the members of all clubs involved approve it at separate meetings. This is a lengthy and complex process and if approved by members we expect it to be complete early 2015. Again last year most of our fixed costs have increased significantly, e.g. power, gas, wages, food, other provisions and general goods and services however we have been able to minimise price increases by improving our overall operating efficiency. We continue to have a very competitive members pricing structure for all of our products and strive to be one of the cheapest in the industry. To remain price competitive we must have high quality, competent and dedicated staff, in all areas of the business and that we have. I take this opportunity to thank all our excellent and attentive staff and in particular our small but highly motivated and dedicated management team. May I also thank our professional and committed board of directors led by Chairman Kevin Pearce, their role is complex and demanding as we are a very large business. We continue to work in an honest, open and transparent manner with a common objective and desire to be the very best we can, in all aspects. Our EBITDA, earnings, before, interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation was $7,394,443 this is an excellent result and a record. Sporting Costs were $2,164,505 and this includes Senior and Junior Central Coast Rugby League, NSW Cup Rugby League, all ground maintenance costs, Bowling and maintenance costs for all 12 bowling greens, Soccer and ground maintenance costs and Sports Administration costs. This is a significant contribution to sport and literally allows thousands of people of all ages to enjoy their chosen sport, which of course is our clubs objective. Over and above our direct commitment to sport we provide support to many hundreds of people in all types of community groups. This list is extensive and impressive and I highly recommend that you take a few minutes to read the Community Development Report as we are particularly proud of what we do in our local community.

General Manager’s Report (cont.) FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 JUNE 2014

We are one of the largest employers on the Central Coast with approx. 315 employees and we paid $13,645,307 in salaries, wages and on costs. Our staff and their families rely on our continued success and where possible we strive to purchase our goods and services from local businesses and this in turn creates a positive flow on in the local community. Our Rugby League program has had an outstanding year and it has taken an enormous effort and commitment to achieve this and I congratulate the Football Committee led by Football Chairman Phil Langley, head coach Rip Taylor and football manager Matt Lavin. Please read their reports as it has been a milestone year for this Club and well done to all involved. I also refer you to the Wyong Rugby League Club Juniors report, another outstanding year and congratulations to all. Our 4 Bowling Clubs have continued to perform well and have presented wonderful facilities for the hundreds of bowlers, of all levels, who utilise the greens and clubhouses. Please read their reports as there are some great achievements from individuals, teams and groups. Budgewoi Soccer Club continues to provide first class facilities for the hundreds of junior and senior players and strives to be the benchmark on the Coast and we thank the committees led by Haydn Appo. We extend our sincere thanks to the many Sub Clubs in all of our Clubs they do a fantastic job of getting like-minded people together to enjoy their chosen activity in pleasant surroundings. Finally on behalf of all our staff, our management team and our Directors I thank you our loyal members for your continued support of all of our clubs. Please continue to provide feedback to our staff so we can ensure we strive to meet your expectations. We remain Respectful and Proud of our Past and Focused and Confident of our Future. Community Support & Development Report FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 JUNE 2014

The Wyong Rugby League Club Group is very proud to continue its support for so many worthwhile organisations and groups in its local areas. It remains a firm commitment of your Club to continue to support and add to the community in such a significant way. The support your Club provides the community includes financial support such as cash donations and sponsorship to the provision of goods, facilities and other resources. In the financial year ended June 2014, your Club provided a net spend of approximately $2.77M on Sport and Donations across all 7 venues, excluding in-kind support. This equates to a community dividend of around $72 per member which is a sixfold return on your membership subscription. This commitment to investing in the community is one the Club is very proud of and will always remain a key focus. The full list of groups and organisations your Club supports is over the page and you are encouraged to take a detailed look through it as it is extensive. One of the highlights you will see is that there is no limit to the diversity and genre of the organisations we support. We support big and small, amateur and professional, the well-known and the never heard of’s. The only caveat is that the funds or resources we provide will benefit many within our communities. At the end of the year we employed over 315 people and had paid over $13.5M in wages and we continue to be one of the largest employers in our region. The positive contribution to the community that this employment provides should not be underestimated. The provision of stable and reliable employment to a community is in our view as important or even more so than the sport and community donations your Club makes. On top of this are the many local businesses and contractors that your Club engages and further helps to provide employment.

STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANT ACCOUNTING POLICIES The financial statements are for Wyong Rugby League Club Limited as an individual entity. Wyong Rugby League Club Limited is a company limited by guarantee, incorporated and domiciled in Australia. The functional currency of the company is Australian dollars. Basis of Preparation Wyong Rugby League Club Limited applies Australian Accounting Standards - Reduced Disclosure Requirements as set out in AASB 1053: Application of Tiers of Australian Accounting Standards and AASB 2010-2: Amendments to Australian Accounting Standards arising from Reduced Disclosure Requirements. The financial statements are general purpose financial statements that have been prepared in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards - Reduced Disclosure Requirements of the Australian Accounting Standards Board and the Corporations Act 2001. Australian Accounting Standards set out accounting policies that the AASB has concluded would result in financial statements containing relevant and reliable information about transactions, events and conditions. Material accounting policies adopted in the preparation of these financial statements are presented below and have been consistently applied unless otherwise stated. The financial statements have been prepared on an accruals basis and are based on historical costs, modified, where applicable, by the measurement at fair value of selected non-current assets, financial assets and financial liabilities. The financial statements have been prepared in the entity’s functional currency, the Australian Dollar. ACCOUNTING POLICIES Going Concern The financial report of the company has been prepared on a going concern basis. Inventories Inventories are measured at the lower of cost and net realisable value. Costs are assigned on the basis of weighted average costs. PROPERTY, PLANT AND EQUIPMENT Each class of property, plant and equipment is carried at cost or fair value as indicated less, where applicable, any accumulated depreciation and impairment losses. Property Freehold land is shown at valuation and buildings are shown at cost less subsequent depreciation for buildings.

Notes to the Concise Financial Statements (cont.) FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 JUNE 2014 Leasehold improvements The cost of improvements to or on leasehold properties is amortised over the unexpired period of the lease or the estimated useful life of the improvements, whichever is deemed most appropriate given the company’s history of remaining at leased premises. The land on which the Budgewoi premises are built is on a lease which expires, unless renewed or purchased, on 14 June 2021. The land on which the Toukley premises are built is on perpetual lease. Plant and equipment Plant and equipment are measured on the cost basis less depreciation and impairment losses. The carrying amount of plant and equipment is reviewed annually by directors to ensure it is not in excess of the recoverable amount from these assets. The recoverable amount is assessed on the basis of the expected net cash flows that will be received from the assets’ employment and subsequent disposal. The expected net cash flows have been discounted to their present values in determining recoverable amounts. Depreciation The depreciable amount of all fixed assets including building and capitalised lease assets, but excluding freehold land, is depreciated on a straight line basis over the asset. The depreciation rates used for each class of depreciable assets are: Class of Fixed Asset Buildings and Improvements Poker Machines Furniture and Fittings Motor Vehicles Plant and Equipment Grounds Equipment

Depreciation Rate 2.5% 33% 20% 20% 20% 20%

The assets’ residual values and useful lives are reviewed, and adjusted if appropriate, at each balance sheet date. An asset’s carrying amount is written down immediately to its recoverable amount if the asset’s carrying amount is greater than its estimated recoverable amount. Gains and losses on disposals are determined by comparing proceeds with the carrying amount. These gains or losses are included in the income statement. When revalued assets are sold, amounts included in the revaluation reserve relating to that asset are transferred to retained earnings. Investment Property Investment property includes land and/or buildings that earn rental income or appreciates in value. All tenant leases were made on an arm’s length basis. The company applies the cost model to the recognition of investment properties. The following amounts are included in the profit and loss for the year:

FINANCIAL INSTRUMENTS Initial Recognition and Measurement Financial assets and financial liabilities are recognised when the entity becomes a party to the contractual provisions to the instrument. For financial assets, this is equivalent to the date that the company commits itself to either purchase or sell the asset (ie trade date accounting adopted). Financial instruments are initially measured at fair value plus transactions costs except where the instrument is classified ‘at fair value through profit or loss’ in which case transaction costs are expensed to profit or loss immediately. Classification and Subsequent Measurement Financial instruments are subsequentially measured at either fair value, amortised cost using the effective interest rate method or cost. Fair value represents the amount for which an asset could be exchanged or a liability settled, between knowledgeable, willing parties. Where available, prices quoted in an active market are used to determine fair value. In other circumstances, valuation techniques are adopted. (i) Loans and receivables Loans and receivables are non-derivative financial assets with fixed or determinable payments that are not quoted in an active market and are subsequently measured at amortised cost.

(ii) Held-to-maturity investments

Held-to-maturity investments are non-derivative financial assets that have fixed maturities and fixed or determinable payments, and it is the company’s intention to hold these investments to maturity. They are subsequently measured at amortised cost.

(iii) Available-for-sale financial assets

Available-for-sale financial assets are non-derivative financial assets that are either not capable of being classified into other categories of financial assets due to their nature, or they are designated as such by management. They comprise investments in the equity of other entities where there is neither a fixed maturity nor fixed or determinable payments.

Fair value Fair value is determined based on current bid prices for all quoted investments. Valuation techniques are applied to determine the fair value for all unlisted securities, including recent arm’s length transactions, reference to similar instruments and option pricing models.

WYONG RUGBY LEAGUE CLUB LIMITED - A COMPANY LIMITED BY GUARANTEE - ABN 11 000 834 908

Notes to the Concise Financial Statements (cont.) FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 JUNE 2014 Impairment At each reporting date, the company assesses whether there is objective evidence that a financial instrument has been impaired. In the case of available-for-sale financial instruments, a prolonged decline in the value of the instrument is considered to determine whether an impairment has arisen. Impairment losses are recognised in the income statement. IMPAIRMENT OF ASSETS At each reporting date, the company reviews the carrying values of its tangible and intangible assets to determine whether there is any indication that those assets have been impaired. If such an indication exists, the recoverable amount of the asset, being the higher of the asset’s fair value less costs to sell and value in use, is compared to the asset’s carrying value. Any excess of the asset’s carrying value over its recoverable amount is expensed to the income statement. INTANGIBLES Poker machine entitlements are now considered to have an indefinite useful life as a result of the expiry of the 10 year period initially indicated by the NSW Government. As a result, no further amortisation of these entitlements will occur and they are considered to be held at their net realisable value. PROVISIONS Provisions are recognised when the company has a legal or constructive obligation, as a result of past events, for which it is probable that an outflow of economic benefits will result and that outflow can be reliably measured. Provisions are measured at the present value of management’s best estimate of the outflow required to settle the obligation at the end of the reporting year. The discount rate used is a pre-tax rate that reflects current market assessments of the time value of money and the risks specific to the liability. The increase in the provision due to the unwinding of the discount is taken to finance costs in the statement of other comrehensive income. CASH AND CASH EQUIVALENTS Cash and cash equivalents include cash on hand, deposits held at call with banks, other short-term highly liquid investments with original maturities of three months or less, and bank overdrafts. REVENUE AND OTHER INCOME Revenue from the sale of goods is recognised at the point of delivery as this corresponds to the transfer of significant risks and rewards of ownership of the goods and cessation of all involvement in those goods. Poker machine revenue is recognised net of payouts. Interest revenue is recognised on a proportional basis taking into account the interest rates applicable to the financial assets.

Notes to the Concise Financial Statements (cont.) FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 JUNE 2014 Dividend revenue is recognised when the right to receive a dividend has been established. Membership revenue is recorded on a cash basis when monies are received and there is no right of repayment after receipt by the company. Commissions are recorded on an accruals basis. BORROWING COSTS All borrowing costs are recognised in expenses in the period in which they are incurred. COMPARATIVE AMOUNTS Comparatives are consistent with prior years, unless otherwise stated. Where a change in comparatives has also affected the opening retained earnings previously presented in a comparative period, an opening statement of financial position at the earliest date of the comparative period has been presented. CRITICAL ACCOUNTING ESTIMATES AND JUDGMENTS The directors evaluate estimates and judgments incorporated into the financial report based on historical knowledge and best available current information. Estimates assume a reasonable expectation of future events and are based on current trends and economic data, obtained both externally and within the company. Key estimates - Impairment Poker machine entitlements are now considered to have an indefinite useful life as a result of the expiry of the 10 year period initially indicated by the NSW Government. As a result, no further amortisation of these entitlements will occur and they are considered to be held at their net realisable value. Key estimates - Provisions The company calculates the carrying amount of provisions under AASB 137 based on a variety of available information. The estimation of the provision is based on the net present value and the probability of the employee completing the required number of years to become entitled to the entitlement. Key estimates - Tax Exemption The Directors are of the opinion that the company is exempt from income tax pursuant to Section 50-45 of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997. We have applied for a Private Ruling from the ATO for the tax exemption on 3 March 2009 and we have a copy of the acceptance from the ATO dated 2 April 2009 in our records. The financial report was authorised for issue on 24th September 2014 by the Board of Directors.

Wyong Rugby League Football Club Report FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 JUNE 2014

Season 2013 was a watershed year, with Wyong Roos competing for the first time in the VB NSW Cup as well as returning to the Central Coast after 10 years in the Newcastle competition. The Club was aiming this year to consolidate its brand as the premier rugby league club in CCD, to be consistently competitive in the NRL second tier competition, and to continue as the brightest star in the CRL constellation. There were several changes to the rugby league landscape in 2014, some effected by the governing bodies, whilst others were initiated or furthered as part of the Club’s rugby league program. CCDJRL assumed responsibility for the administration of the Under 17’s competition. Wyong Roos entered into a strategic alliance with the Central Coast Centurions representative organization and provided generous sponsorship to the CCD representative program. A portability arrangement was secured with The Entrance, principally permitting players surplus to NSW Cup requirements to be loaned to the Tigers. Most importantly, the Club has reached agreement with Sydney Roosters to replace Newtown Jets as its primary affiliate, effectively making Wyong Roos the foundation club’s Reserve Grade commencing Season 2015. Wyong Roos Juniors in 2014 fielded 35 teams in age competitions from Under 6 to Under 17, giving 501 boys and girls (the most of any CCDJRL Club) the opportunity to play rugby league and enjoy all the other benefits associated with the game and being a member of this proud club. Wyong Roos Juniors had 14 teams qualify for the finals series (Under 10 and above), with two of those teams progressing to contest the Grand Final in their respective age divisions. The seniors had a total of 146 registered players across five grades; under 19, Open Age, Reserve Grade, 1st Grade and NSW Cup. Wyong Roos were Minor and Major Premiers in Under 19’s and Open Age. Reserve Grade were Minor Premiers and beaten Grand Finalists. 1st Grade finished the home and away season in fourth, but proved irresistible through the finals series to secure the premiership. NSW Cup finished seventh, but fell to Wentworthville in the second week of the finals. The Club’s great strength continues to be its junior development program, with local talent prominently featuring across all senior grades and at representative level. Blake Andrews was the only Central Coast player selected in the Country Under 16’s to tour Qld. Blake will likely find himself fast tracked into grade next season after he completes his SG Ball commitments, and already has the frame and maturity to play at that level. Jacob Liddle starred for NSW CHS Opens in the national schoolboy championships, and on the strength of his performances in that competition, has been selected in the Australian Schoolboys team to tour England and France later this year. As well as playing an important role in the Under 19’s defending their CCD premiership this season, Jacob’s efforts were critical to 1st Grade’s run through the finals series and

ultimate premiership. Jacob was also named Central Coast Centurions Player of the Year. Jacob has contracted to play with Wests Tigers Under 20’s for the next two years. Damon (DJ) Goolagong Jr was awarded Central Coast Centurions Best Back in Season 2014. DJ returned from SG Ball commitments to play with the Under 19’s early in the season, had a taste of lower grade football, and was called into 1st Grade against Erina. DJ made his NSW Cup debut on 5th July, 2014. Remarkably, DJ held his position in that team as a 17 year old into the finals series. Anyone who witnessed his outstanding display against Wests Tigers in the first semi final will have marked him as a rare talent, with poise and an intuitive grasp of the game. DJ has contracted to play with South Sydney Rabbitohs NYC squad in 2015. Jacob Liddle and DJ Goolagong are the joint winners of the 2014 Youth of the Year. Canterbury Bulldogs permitted last year’s Youth of the Year, Brad Keighran, to play 1st Grade with Wyong Roos until mid-season, when he secured a permanent position in their NYC starting team. Brad’s younger brother, Adam Keighran, was also given leave by the Bulldogs to turn out for Wyong, and on the back of outstanding performances in the Under 19’s, 1st Grade Coach Dean Amos brought Adam into his starting team. Adam and Under 19 team mate, Robbie Rodger, were selected for the Country Under 18 squad which toured Queensland. Adam was named CCD Rookie of the Year and is contracted to rejoin the “Dogs next season. Adam returned from a knee injury to help Wyong annex the CCD Under 19 Premiership trophy. Robbie was an integral part of 1st Grade’s push for the premiership, and was perhaps best on ground in the Final win over Kincumber. Luke Sharpe received the Star FM Under 19 CCD Best & Fairest award. Luke skippered the Roos Under 19 team to this year’s Grand Final victory, then backed up as starting fullback in 1st Grade. Luke’s 90m first half try in the top grade ranks amongst the best ever seen in a Grand Final, and will never be forgotten by those fortunate enough to be present. Luke is a prodigious talent with a long, bright future with the Club. Nathan Clarke was the only Wyong Roo selected in the Central Coast Senior representative team which contested the Country Championships. Nathan performed strongly at NSW Cup level and in 1st Grade, and provided much of the steel required for the Club’s successful assault on the premiership. Brady Barwick caught the eye of the CCD selectors and represented Central Coast Centurions in the Country Under 18 Championships. WYONG RUGBY LEAGUE CLUB GROUP - 2014 ANNUAL REPORT

Damon Goolagong, Jacob Liddle, Luke Sharpe, Wade Kemplen, Mitch Connor, Daniel Langbridge and Bailey Shiach-Wise were part of the well performed Centurions SG Ball squad this season. Although the NSW Cup team finished last in 2013, winning five matches against NRL aligned teams was a wonderful effort. Rip Taylor took the reins of the NSW Cup squad for 2014, and assisted by Ian Bourke and Strength & Conditioning Coach Matt Toohey, put together a campaign which had the boys only two wins from a Grand Final appearance. Alex Langbridge and Blake Carter returned to the fold after respectively spending time with Melbourne Storm and Canterbury Bulldogs Under 20’s. Test and Origin forward, Mark O’Meley, rejoined the Roos, where he had played some of his junior football. Mark’s experience on and off the field was invaluable. Mark, his wife Sandy, and sons Nick and Jake have been welcome additions to the Club. Six Wyong juniors appeared in the Club’s maiden NSW Cup semi final match against Wests Tigers on 7 September; Jay Florimo, DJ Goolagong, Mark O’Meley, Mitch Williams, Shaun Boss and Alex Langbridge. Whilst the Coach and players were disappointed not to have beaten Wentworthville and progress to the third week of the finals, their effort to secure 12 wins and seventh position on the table was an outstanding achievement. Mitch Williams and Magnus Stromquist were selected in the NSW Residents representative squad that played Qld Residents at Suncorp Stadium on the undercard to this year’s final Origin match. Mitch was the starting hooker, and Magnus a shadow reserve. Both men have gained selection in the VB NSW Cup Team of the Year. Magnus Stromquist is the 2014 Player of the Year. From a footballing perspective, the Club has undergone enormous change since Season 2012. The affiliation with Sydney Roosters will see further change in Season 2015 and beyond. Sydney Roosters are planning to invest heavily in the development of the game on the Central Coast. Wyong Roos have an ongoing and fundamental role in the Roosters long term plans for this area. Aspirational Wyong juniors now have a home grown pathway to elite competition at NRL level, whilst the game in general on the Central Coast will be better resourced and administered as a result of the Roosters involvement. Many thanks must go to our coaches; Rip Taylor NSW CUP, Dean Amos Player/ Coach 1st Grade, Joel Anderson Player/Coach Reserve Grade, Jerry Hill Open Age and Jason Parker Under 19’s. The contributions and importance of their respective assistants, Ian Bourke, Tony Keevill and Brent Wood, Matt Ross, Ian Naden and Les Hannah must be acknowledged and cannot be overestimated.

Wyong Rugby League Football Club Report (cont.) FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 JUNE 2014

Support Staff 2014 The support staff and volunteers are the lifeblood of the organization. The quality of their work, good humour, professionalism and dedication are second to none, and differentiates this Club from all others. The contributions of team managers, Jeff Munday, Rod Cox, Mitch Thomas, Gavin Wand, Scott Purcell, Harry Butler, Brian Rudd and Dave Lewis often go unnoticed, but are essential to the smooth running of the operation and putting players on the field. Similarly, the services provided by our blue and yellow shirts are critical to our onfield performances and should never be overlooked. The diagnosis, support and rehabilitation of our injured players is the best outside the NRL and something of which we can all be proud. Special mention must be made of Brendan Clarke and his staff from Total Physio Kanwal, and our medical people, Craig Davis, Shane Selby, Michael Callaghan, Robbie Williams, Richard Gardner, Kevin Gardiner and Jenny Brown. Football Committee Bob Pettiford retired from the Football Committee at the beginning of the season after years of service, in that time personally bearing responsibility for much of the decision making, and shouldering much of the workload. Bob has more than earned his “rest”, our thanks and best wishes. The Football Committee comprises myself, Phil Langley (Chairman), Stephen Marks, Gerard Andrews and Rip Taylor. The extent of our football program and its day to day management can at times be both daunting and challenging. I am grateful for the energy, support and expertise shown by the other committee members. Board and Management The Club, in many ways, is defined by the success of the football program. The ambitious nature of the program is reflective of WRLCG as an organization, and has been underpinned by the bold decision making and vision of the Board and Senior Management. I am grateful for their support and the resources provided. Under 19’s Sponsored by Fill & Carry Fruit Market Kanwal Coach – Jason Parker 2014 – Minor and Major Premiers Congratulations to the U19s on a “three-peat” (Newcastle/Hunter 2012 and Central Coast 2013 & 2014). Any team losing players of the calibre of Brad Keighran, Dylan Thorne, Mitch Subotin and Rory Steven, ordinarily could be expected to struggle against quality opposition, but if anything, the infusion of new players Adam Keighran, Mitch Connor, Robbie Rodger, Brady Barwick and Joseph Marshall and a further season under Jason “Angry” Parker and Les “The Legend” Hannah, has added another dimension to this team. Under 19’s dismantled and demoralized the highly fancied Erina Eagles in the Major Semi, before beating the tough and well-credentialed The Entrance Tigers 32-12 in the Grand Final. Coach Parker and his staff have made it a habit of producing ready made 1st Graders, but probably his most significant achievement has been developing players who have never before played the game, or who were second and third division players as juniors, into serious footballers. The team is full of talented individuals, but is also well organized and disciplined. Supporters can expect to see many members of this team graduate into grade and feature prominently in season 2015. The team were victorious 26 – 12 over a spirited Kincumber in the Grand Final. The Roos rattled eventual Minor Premiers and Grand Final opponents Berkeley Vale on the Panthers home turf, and that game provided a tantalizing glimpse into the competition decider. Wyong navigated a tough route to the Grand Final, first eliminating in form Woy Woy 1410, then Terrigal 32-10 and ultimately Kincumber 34-4 to secure a spot in the big dance. The Grand Final at Morry Breen Field will long be remembered as a tense, gripping contest. The match featured individual brilliance from Luke Sharpe and Jacob Liddle, relentless go forward from Kene Te Whata, and heavy defence from Nathan Clarke and Brent Murray. The Roos had to resist a surge by Berkeley Vale late in the match, but astutely led by Dean Amos, the boys held on for an 8-6 victory. 1st Grade Awards Best & Fairest..........................Dean Amos Players Player..........................Blake Carter Best Back................................Mick Forgham Most Consistent......................Nathan Clarke NSW CUP Coach – Rip Taylor Sponsored by – Austbrokers Central Coast & Northlakes Glass & Glazing 2014 - 7th following home and away season. Under the stewardship of Rip Taylor and his assistant Ian Bourke, the team developed into a genuine title threat despite having to play week in week out against fulltime professionals. Wyong Rugby League Football Club Report (cont.) FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 JUNE 2014

Rugby League Development Development officer Mitch Williams co-ordinated and conducted various rugby league programs both pre-season and in season. Assisted by Joel Anderson and some senior players, Mitch established and supervised a summer squad comprising more than 50 junior players 13 years and above. Wyong Roos provided practical support to the Rugby League program at Gorokan High School and the Targeted Sports Program at Wadalba Community School. The annual junior development day coordinated by Mitch attracted over 80 players. Mitch also conducted specialist skills sessions throughout the competition and he and senior players provided assistance to the junior coaches on request. Grounds - Morry Breen Complex Grounds Supervisor, Nathan Mantellato, and his staff worked tirelessly to keep the complex in top condition over the last twelve months. Each year the demand for use of the Club’s fields and facilities increases. Over 30 different organizations accessed the Morry Breen complex in the last twelve months including Central Coast Division Rugby League Juniors and Seniors (for early season competition matches, semi finals, grand finals and representative games), Central Coast Centurions, Wyong Cricket Club, Kanwal-Warnervale Rovers Soccer Club, Oztag and Rugby Union Sevens. The maintenance and improvement of the fields and related facilities represents a significant investment by the Club, and the local community benefits on many levels from the fields and facilities being regularly made available free of charge to not for profit bodies. The construction of the new gym and audio visual/ meeting room will further enhance the development of our players and coaching staff. Plans are well advanced for the establishment of a mod/training field at the northern end of the complex. Website and Social Media Wyong Roos Seniors and Juniors websites provide up to date football news and a wealth of information and items of interest. The websites are also a valuable tool for our sponsors to advertise their products and services. Year to date (1/1/2014-22/9/2014), the Seniors website (www.wyongseniorroos.com,au) has had 69,907 visits and 2,558,693 hits (pages looked at). The Juniors website (www. wyongjuniorroos.com.au) in the same period has had 58,371 visits and 1,629,216 hits. We can also be found on Facebook and Twitter (#roosallday). Dean Amos 1st Grade Player Coach Dean Amos broke the news of his retirement in the weeks leading up to the Grand Final. Dean was called into 1st Grade prior to his 18th birthday and has played more than 200 1st Grade games with the Club. Dean is one of the most gifted and loyal players the Club has produced, and he has enjoyed remarkable success and a wonderful career. Dean represented Country five times from 2002-2006 and in 2006 was named Country Player of the Year. He has been Wyong’s Youth of the Year twice 1994 and 1995 and Player of the Year once in 2001. Dean has twice won the Central Coast 1st Grade Best & Fairest (Sterland Medal and Central Coast Leagues Club Medal) in 2002 and 2014 and led the Club’s 1st Grade to this year’s premiership. Excluding Dean, the victorious grand final squad

included 12 Wyong juniors. Dean provided the inspiration for many of those juniors, and returned the trust and confidence vested in him at such a young age. On behalf of the Club I wish Dean all the best in his retirement as a player, but like many, hope to see him remain with Wyong Roos in some capacity. Others will retire as players or support staff, or simply take a breather. I hope you have enjoyed your time with Wyong Roos, and look forward to seeing you again soon. I am extremely grateful to all those people who have been part of the rugby league program this year. Success is a function of hard work and having the right people in the right positions. As a Club we work harder than any other. The people involved could not do better or be more dedicated. Planning for Season 2015 is well underway, and there are exciting times ahead. On a sad note and with the assistance of Club Historian, Terry Wand we should record the passing recently of the following stalwarts, players and members: KEITH BARBEN - involved with the club since 1966 - former Assistant Manager, Caterer, President and Chairman of the Board. DAVE SUMNER - former President and Chairman of the Board, Team Manager, contributing engineer to much of the club building. DON BARNES - Huge fund raiser in the 1970’s, Director, Team Manager. GORDON HATTLEY - Wyong player in premiership sides in 1947 - Leading Central Coast Referee. MICK JENNINGS - Tough captain/coach of Third Grade sides. Won a premiership in 1970’s. ALAN (POMMY) TURNER - Former player, Won a premiership in 1947 - great supporter. DOUG EDWARDS - former junior, leading 1st Grade player, several premiership sides, Central Coast Player of the Year. OWEN SMITH - member of 1967 undefeated under 19 side, no nonsense forward, went onto 1st Grade. JOHN MILLER - former North Sydney junior, a tough forward who played all grades with Wyong being part of premiership winning sides. ANN BREEN - wife of Morry - great lady who loved the club and supported her husband and boys with rugby league passion. Our sincere condolences to all of their families. Matt Lavin Football Manager

Budgewoi Football Club Report FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 JUNE 2014

The 2014 season has been another successful one for Budgewoi Football Club (BFC). On the field, we had 603 players and 51 teams representing BFC in 2014. Of the 51 teams, 37 of them represented BFC at junior level, and 14 teams at senior level. Of these teams, 25 played in competition football, with 9 of those teams qualifying for the finals series, which in its self, is a fantastic effort. BFC Team Achievements; Semi Finalists - M35CN/1, MAA1, 18B/1, Grand Finalists - W13A League Champions/Grand Finalists – MPL Thirds, Grand Final Winners – 13D’s League Champions/Grand Final Winners – 14B’s, SWL Firsts, and Women’s 30 The 2014 season was a year where the BFC Committee and the WRLCG worked hard to continue the working relationship between the two parties. As a result, the WRLCG have been very supportive and forthcoming with any requests that have been made by the BFC Committee. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the appointed manager of the Budgewoi Soccer Club, Samm Glynn, for all her support and assistance since taking over the role as manager from Paul Hope. I would like to thank all the bar staff for their assistance and help when needed, and Rip TAYLOR and Brent FARNSWORTH for all the effort and support that they have provided to the BFC during the 2014 season. Taking everything into consideration, I can only see the relationship between the BFC and WRLCG getting stronger and stronger, which in turn will benefit all parties involved. The Budgewoi Soccer Club is a fantastic club, which has a lot of passionate members and patronage. If it wasn’t for the support of the WRLCG, the club wouldn’t be the pleasurable little club it is today. I would like to thank my hard working executives, Alicia Hills (Junior Vice President) and Luke Mayne (Senior Vice President) for their support, hard work and commitment throughout the 2014 season. We would have not accomplished and achieved what we have this season, if it wasn’t for the efforts of these two. A big thankyou goes to Leanne Faber (U10 – U18’s Coordinator) and Maria Berrios (U5 – U9’s Coordinator) and the committee members, for their hard work, in what can be a very tireless and thankless job. Also, a big thankyou goes to the Budgewoi Soccer Club Coordinator, Haydn APPO, for the support and hard work that he has put into the 2014 for BFC.

The Bay Bowlers Report FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 JUNE 2014

The past twelve months have flown and been most successful again for The Bay Bowlers. We have welcomed 23 new members; unfortunately we have lost more than this number, due to ill health by many and the passing of some members. At this present time we have 210 members. Most Mondays we have between 80 – 100 bowlers on the greens at Wyong. Our year started with a four day weekend at Old Bar with 54 of our members on this excursion. Bowling games were organized against Taree Leagues and Old Bar Bowling Clubs. In November we held our Melbourne Cup/ Fun Day which had 86 starters dressing up for the occasion. A great day had by all. Our Christmas Party at the WRLC in December was without a doubt one of our most successful to date, everything ran as planned for which we thank the WRLC. Our yearly Competitions were again hotly contested events: Mixed Pairs Winners: Elaine and Alan Webber Runners Up: Marilyn and Adrian Last Ladies Singles Winner: Lorna Colvin Runner Up: Margaret Harrison Men’s Singles Winner: Les Fitzgerald Runner Up: Rick Greener The Bruce White Shield another competition held annually between Wyong RSL and The Bay Bowlers was won by The Bay Bowlers in July 2013. Unfortunately this year the event has had to be rescheduled to later in the year. The Creightons Memorial Triples in July 2014 was won by the team of Doug Roffey, Joyce Pirie and Barry Kohler with second place going to Jim Fuller, Barry Troope and Ronnie Bradley. This is an all day event and teams are drawn from the ‘hat’ with the teams playing 3 games. Visitations are also an integral part of our year and in addition to Old Bar weekend we have visited Nelson Bay Diggers and Gwandalan Clubs and have received visits to Wyong by St John’s Park and Soldiers Point. The running of our Trading Table weekly over the last 4 to 5 years has enabled us to donate in excess of $10,000 to local charities such as Palliative Care, Shirley’s Shuttle and Wyong Hospital. We thank everyone for their contribution to this effort. Adrian Last President

Wallarah Bay Indoor Bowls Report FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 JUNE 2014

The Wallarah Bay Indoor Bowlers have enjoyed another full and happy year. Our current membership is 51 financial members, we usually have between 30/35 who attend regularly on Monday and Thursday nights. Our prizes remain the same as last year, 8 $5 Coles/Myers cards per night. Plus the raffle we run with 2 prizes, one of $20 and one of $10. We also have a “fun” night once a month, with breakfast trays given as prizes. The Indoor Bowlers chose to have their 2013 Christmas party at Wyong Leagues instead of Canton Sports. The Club did us proud, the table settings and decorations looked amazing. Everyone who attended voted to have further Xmas parties at your venue. Needless to say they all enjoyed the food & drink. In March we visited Goulburn Workers Club, we stayed three days and had a few Roll Ups and some good food and great company. They will reciprocate when the weather is warmer, we look forward to returning the hospitality they showed us. We have been on a few day trips this year as usual. The Hawkesbury River History Cruise was outstanding. Our members enjoyed a lovely morning tea with homemade Anzac biscuits, followed by a ham salad. The crew made sure that everybody had a full tummy by offering seconds to anyone who could fit it in. The History of the Hawkesbury is rather significant seeing that we all live locally. In July we attended a Christmas in July Cabaret Lunch, which was well attended. Everybody got into the swing of it and enjoyed the Xmas Dinner. There will be a BBQ in September for all the bowlers, we will provide the meat and salads. These Social events are all subsidised with funding from our Bowls club. We are currently doing a membership drive due to the fact we are losing Members mainly to old age and unfortunately deaths. We have approached Wyong Leagues and they have printed fliers to be displayed around the clubs venues. Our publicity Officer is submitting ads to various local publications who let us advertise for free. So hopefully we will have some new members in the near future. Our new committee is working well together, we are all new to the position apart from Jim Naylor the treasurer. We are all dedicated to giving our best to the bowlers and the Wyong Club. New bowlers of any age are always welcome to join our friendly club. We bowl every Monday & Thursday night at 6:oo pm. Our members sincerely thank the Board of WRLC for their continued support and the grants we receive. The staff are always prompt in preparing the auditorium, and we appreciate their help. Canton Beach Women’s Bowling Club Report FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 JUNE 2014

Canton Beach Women’s Bowling Club (CBWBC) has had once again a very successful year. Our membership numbers at the end of the financial year includes: 102 Full members, 5 Social members and 6 Associate members. Pennants this year saw the club enter three teams: 1 in Grade 3 and two teams in Grade 4. Our Grade 3 team made the playoffs but unfortunately this year we did not progress any further. Hopefully the 2015 Pennant season will see us once more come into contention. Externally four groups of our ladies travelled to Soldiers Point one of which ended up winning the Blue Water Classic competition against some impressive teams from across the state. This team consisted of Pene Turner (Skip), Carol Banks (3rd), Raewin Macdonald (2nd) and Angie Zalewski (Lead). The other three teams/ composite teams competed in the new Golden Sands Competition and will be competitive once again in 2015. Another group entered the Tuncurry Triples Tournament and won their competition. This team consisted on Jo Whittaker (Skip), Raylene Dillon 2nd and Patsy McFadden Lead. Earlier this year several teams travelled to Nelson Bay to compete in the Winter Wonderland competition. One of our teams (Pene Turner, Raewin MacDonald, Laurel O’Brien and Angie Zalewski) were runners up. Congratulation to all our ladies in their success over the past twelve months. Our Challenge Cup team will compete at Wamberal on the 15th September which unfortunately clashes with this year’s Prawn Carnival. During the past financial year CBWBC have continued to work tirelessly for our chosen charities and this year we have donated to Bowls for Others, Shirley’s Shuttle, Camp Breakaway and on ANZAC Day a gift voucher was donated to Toukley Primary School. Once again our Gala Day and Friendship Days were very successful with all greens full for Gala Day (130 players). Friendship Day was washed out but ladies present played Hoy and had a very successful day.

Canton Bowlers Report FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 JUNE 2014

Once again I have the pleasure to report on a successful year for Canton Mixed Bowlers. We love our bowls, and play to win, but our main objective is to ensure that everyone who comes to play, member or visitor, experienced bowler or novice, has an enjoyable time. This year we are proud to have assisted in the rehabilitation of a wheelchair dependant bowler, who has now progressed to bowling with the aid of a walking stick. Age or injury are no bar to our bowlers as we often share a team spot with bowlers playing half a game until they return to full fitness. The other important part of Canton Bowlers, is our social side where we try to augment the bowling experience with dinner nights, bar-b-ques, Xmas, and of course Australia Day celebrations. We also award weekly prizes for winners, losers, and lucky picks. For the fifth year running we held a charity day, with the proceeds donated to Camp Breakaway, a local charity supporting disabled children and their carers. This year we presented Camp Breakaway with a cheque for $4000, which included contributions from the Men’s Bowling Club, and “Dad’s Army”, a group of senior players. We have also donated to “Shirley Shuttle Bus”, another local charity, providing hospital transport for cancer patients. My goal during my presidency is to work closely with Wyong Rugby League Club, Canton Beach Sports Club, staff and greenkeepers, and the Men’s and Women’s Bowling Clubs. I am lucky to have inherited an excellent working relationship with all of the above, and will strive to maintain and build upon that relationship. I would also like to commend the greenkeepers for their exceptional work in providing high quality playing surfaces despite the extremes of heat and rain that we have endured this year. I have also been most fortunate in retaining an efficient and knowledgeable executive and committee. We have benefitted from a steady influx of new recruits. We have also had the pleasure of nurturing new bowlers who have been recommended to us by the Men’s and Women’s Bowling Clubs, and their coaching staff. Two of our members are now qualified club coaches, and we now have several umpires within our ranks. We have enjoyed visitations from both Morisset and Toronto Bowling Clubs. Another highlight of our year was the privilege of hosting one round of the NSW and Queensland Real Estate Bowlers annual championship. This year’s treasurer’s report shows that membership remains at a fairly constant level, the club remains on a stable financial footing, with the club raffles being well supported, and that we closed the year with a positive financial balance.

Wyong Men’s Bowling Club Report FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 JUNE 2014

Once again it gives me great pleasure to submit my yearly report to the Wyong Leagues Club Group for the 2013/2014 year. This is my last report as president as I am standing down from the position of president as of August 2014. The highlight for this year was to see the Grade 2 pennant players travelling to Port Macquarie to represent our club and play for the State Flag. To the players and supporters it certainly was a great weekend and goes to show the strength in our club. Our other grades did well over the pennant season and we can only get better for the following pennant seasons. Thanks to all the managers for their effort throughout the pennant season and to the selectors who always have a hard job to keep everyone happy. Other achievements were, 2 of our members made it through to the Zone 15 finals. Mark Wheatley in the Champion of Champions and Peter Redman in the Seniors. We certainly have great workers in our club and my thanks go to the following, the bar and bistro staff, the greenkeepers and to our BBQ Chefs Danny and Brian. On behalf of the committee I would like to thank Wyong Leagues Club Inc & Sue Manning for their ongoing support. ln rounding off, I would like to thank the committee members I have worked with over the last 5 years, a great group of guys and all those who have supported me over the years in my position as President. Wyong Women’s Bowling Club Report FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 JUNE 2014

After another year of successful bowling the Wyong Bowling Club Ladies would like to thank the Wyong Rugby League Club Group for their continued assistance and support. We would also like to thank the management and Bistro staff at the Wyong Bowling Club for all the help they have extended to us during the past year. Thanks also go to our greenkeeper Jason and his helpers. Donations this year were made to the Wyong Hospital for which we raised enough money to buy two syringe drivers funded by way of a successful Cancer Day Tournament in October, 2013. Donations were also given to Shirley Shuttle, the Wyong Bush Fire Brigade, and the Biggest Morning Tea. Our membership this year stands at 85. During the year some older members have resigned and others have transferred to other Clubs. Our deepest sympathies are extended to those Ladies who have lost family members this year. As in past years, in November we hosted the children of St. Cecelia’s Primary School for a period of one hour per week over five weeks in coaching classes, and both the children and those adult members who assisted had a very enjoyable time. We may see some bowling stars of the future from these endeavours. Teams from our Club again competed in the District Singles, Pairs, Triples, with one of our teams reaching the semi finals of the District Triples. We were also represented in the Hetherington Trophy, Challenge Cup, and the Pink Ribbon Cup for Breast Cancer. There are always a large number of teams entered in these competitions from all over the Central Coast, and our Club is well represented every year. Three teams were entered in Pennants in 2014, with all teams playing very well. Congratulations Ladies, the Club is proud of you. We also had three Wyong Women’s teams in the Saturday Morning Triples competition played each year over 5 weeks in August. Our own Club Championships were well supported, with the following results: Singles Champion Fay Feros Pairs Champions Julie Coulson and Pat Frewin Triples Champions Barbara Currey, Joyce Pirie, and Carol McCleer Fours Champions Joyce Pirie, Sue Robb, Carol McCleer and Barbara Jansen During the year several other special days and tournaments were run, including our Roo & Joey and Versatility Fours competitions, Friendship Day, the Baker Trophy, Frank Laird Trophy and Christmas Twilight Triples. We again competed in our annual competition against Kurri Kurri, and also in the Joan Williams Shield against Lemon

Tree Passage, both of which were lost in close contests. These days were very successful and we aim for a better result next year. A competition is also held against Wyong RSL each year which is also a great day, and this year resulted in a draw. Finally, we must pay tribute and give special thanks to our Sponsors, the Creightons Group and the Wyong Rugby League Club Group, whose continued support is very much appreciated. Goulburn Railway Men’s Bowling Club Report FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 JUNE 2014

The past year has once again been a roller coaster ride for our committee. The loss of members is always hard to come to terms with however this past year has seen the passing of one of our patrons Ivor Thomas as well as life member Joe Cooke. We always hold a period of silence for all passed members however it would be remiss of me not to recognise both Joe and Ivor. The year didn’t start well for the new committee as we were left without a Secretary following the 2013 AGM. This was a challenge that our committee didn’t see coming. Changes had to be made to how we conducted our business for the first part of the year and this put us on the back foot for some months. Once we managed to fill all positions we could then move forward. I have to say that we did not achieve all we wanted to in the past year and this could well have been the major reason. Along with the difficult times we also had good news. We managed to secure a major sponsor for the next ten years allowing us to change our old tired bowls uniform. Gutter Vac has come on board and I look forward to a long partnership with the new sponsor and I also thank John Withers for the time and effort he has put in with the design an ordering of our new shirt that will carry our new sponsors logo. Congratulations go out to all the championship winners for the past year. All finals were played in a competitive spirit which resulted in some cliff hangers. It was also good to see some good crowds turning up to watch the finals. Our Pennant teams put in full efforts each week however we fell just short in reaching the finals. The new year brings some changes to the Pennant program and I know we will put in another strong performance trying to get into the finals. We continue to have strong representation at a Zone level. To those who have represented our club I congratulate you and look forward to further representation over the coming years. Like all bowls clubs, we are having difficulty either recruiting new bowlers or retaining current members. This is a situation that we cannot sustain and may get to a critical stage in the coming years. We need to have a close look at our options. This is a whole of club issue and will need a whole of club response. Whilst the committee is working hard at recruiting new bowlers, I ask that all members assist in any way the can. We have had many visiting clubs come and enjoy our company and we will continue this networking throughout the coming year thanks to our travelling bowlers.

Goulburn Railway Men’s Bowling Club Report (cont.) FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 JUNE 2014

Our financial position remains strong however this shouldn’t make us complacent. We are still focusing on our bowlers and will be offering more incentives over the next twelve months. We continue to assist local charities through the wrong bias box. I want to finish by offering my thanks to the following people. Early in the year the committee was faced with a very difficult and delicate situation relating to member protection. Some committee members found themselves in a very difficult and uncomfortable position causing an increase in stress levels for all. I want to thank them all for the support they gave each other during this trying time. John Withers makes himself available each week to drive the bus for those of us who wish to spend our time after bowls enjoying the company of our fellow bowlers. Thank you John. We have had some great success with sponsorship over the past twelve months. Due to family reasons Greg Rice decided to stand down from his role of sponsorship officer. The very able Reg Thoms stepped up to the plate and took his conversation skills out there and managed to get extra sponsors to ensure our financial success over the coming years. We should always recognise our sponsors and the important role they play in sustaining us. Great job Greg and well done Reg. Each Wednesday after bowls Boyd Cook manages to con us out of a couple of dollars in the hope that we may pick up a frozen chook or two. It is this type of effort that also ensures ongoing financial independence. Thanks Boyd. I will finish by thanking Scott Cooper and his staff for all the assistance throughout the year. Goulburn Railway Women’s Bowling Club Report FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 JUNE 2014

2014 has been a quieter year for the ladies of the club. Members have represented the club proudly and successfully at all levels of bowling. At district level members of the club won four out of the five district championships. However at regional level we did not do so well with only one team progressing to the state championships at Tuncurry in late October. Members of this team are Judy Cooke, Lorraine McNeil, Barbara Edwards and Heather Thornton. We wish them good bowling and the best of luck in their efforts to win a state title. The results of the 2014 Club Championships are as follows – Singles Champion Judy Cooke Runner up Heather Thornton Pairs Champions Margaret Lawless and Heather Thornton Triples Champions Margaret Lawless, Barbara Edwards and Judy Cooke Fours Champions Karen Marshall, Margaret Lawless, Heather Thornton and Judy Cooke Earlier in the year our Charity Day raised $1,100 for The House With No Steps. This is a charity which provides assistance with living skills and leisure activities for young adults with disabilities. The charity’s representative was overwhelmed with our effort and while expressing his thanks told us would likely go towards the purchase of an air hockey table which the young people had expressed a wish for. Some of our members were invited out to their centre recently for morning tea and to see the table and watch how much the young ones enjoyed the interaction with each other while playing at the table. Through our monthly spiders we donated $500 to the Red Cross Bush Fire Appeal for the Blue Mountains Fire. We are holding our Versatile Fours Carnival in early November. The entries are not quite as good as in previous years but we are still hoping for a successful outcome. During the year we were fortunate to welcome several new bowlers who are enjoying the bowling and developing their abilities and are looking forward to entering championship events for experience next year. It was sad to say farewell to several of our long term members who have worked hard for the club over a number of years and have always been regulars on the green. But they have decided that their best bowling days are behind them so we wish them well in their future endeavours. Many of our members travel away to special days in the district and beyond to carnivals. They enjoy the experience of meeting other competitive bowlers and improving their own skills. The State Carnival is always well supported with on team winning their section. Our club continues to stage, in conjunction with the members of the men’s club, many mixed days in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. These are always great days to play in, are always fun filled and well attended.

Goulburn Railway Women’s Bowling Club Report FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 JUNE 2014

With the ongoing support and generosity of our members and a close working relationship with the men’s club we are looking forward to another successful year of competitive, social and mixed bowls, but above all continued friendships and good health. In concluding all members would like to thank the management of the Wyong Rugby Leagues Club Group for their continued support and our local Venue Manager and his staff for their assistance throughout the year. It is very much appreciated. Joyce Wade President

Avoca Beach Men’s Bowling Club Report FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 JUNE 2014

2013 – 2014 has been an eventful year for the bowls club. Players doing well in zone competitions and the No.1 pennants team reaching the final of Zone 15 being runners-up. In-House competitions have been a success and well supported by members. New sponsorship has been secured by President John Moore from Travel World and John Singleton. We thank our regular sponsors David McMillan (B-Mac Constructions), Retire Australia, APIA, Creightons, Graham Ross and Tim Miller (Flooring Extra) for continued support of our Club. We also thank Wyong Rugby League Club group for its support and generosity over the past year for which we are grateful. Club membership is down slightly, but new members are coming in slowly from the city and other clubs. Next year’s pennant season we hope to field teams in Grades 1, 2, 4, 6 & 7. The Sister Club Challenge at Goulburn was well supported this year and everyone enjoyed the friendly competition with Wyong the winners. Avoca is looking forward to doing better at the next one to be held at Canton Beach, Toukley. The 2013-14 Committee, led by President John Moore, had a productive year which sees the club with a sound financial position for the ensuing year. I would like to thank all committee members for their interest and diligence in running the men’s bowls club and Avoca staff and greenkeepers for their guidance and service during the year. Avoca Beach Women’s Bowling Club Report (cont.) FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 JUNE 2014

IN CONCLUSION It has been a very eventful year with changes in the Management Committee, but the end result was that we functioned admirably with all the Committees doing a wonderful job. Running the different Committees takes time and effort and a lot of pre planning but our ladies always do a wonderful job when they are called on. There are also many ladies who are not on Committee who have helped out when required and a big thanks goes to them. Our members have been generous and supportive with our raffles and 50 clubs this year and this is very much appreciated. Once again many ladies give their time as well as generous gifts which are used as prizes. A vote from members was taken at the Quarterly Meeting in May to reduce the prize money for Winning Rinks to $10.00 and Losing rinks to $5.00. The vote was a very positive to reduce the prize money. Our representation at District Level has been stepped up with our new members and I am sure that Avoca Beach Women’s Bowling Club will again be very busy in the upcoming year with ladies from our Club being called upon to represent the District. My thanks go to President Bev who has been very supportive throughout the year. There has been a lot of liaising with Management of the Club (usually about Catering and Food) and a compromise has usually been reached. President Bev has carried out her duties very professionally and it has been a pleasure to be able to assist her in her position. My gratitude must also go to the ladies in the Management Committee who have all been very helpful in their duties and have made my position a much easier job to do. These ladies have to make the tough decisions and bear the brunt of these decisions very graciously. A thank you must go to all the Staff of the Club Limited in particular Louise Tully who is always helpful and willing to assist with any problems that arise from time to time and Cameron Grentell who has always been very approachable and willing to help. In conclusion I wish the incoming Committee my very best wishes and hope that our Club keeps going from strength to strength. To the ladies who stand up and perform duties for our Club it is a great big THANK YOU because without you our Club would not be able to operate the way it does. Don’t forget ladies Committees do their work voluntarily and this is a very big commitment for their part. GOOD BOWLING LADIES. Avoca Beach Social Golf Club Report FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 JUNE 2014

The Golf Club continues to go from strength to strength, especially off the course! Unfortunately, this is not reflected on the course, an influx of new members has failed to deliver any single figure handicappers! As a result, the likely hood of winning any challenges this year remains a feint hope, despite our President’s claim to lead an elite golf division! Membership continues to grow with upward of 40 financial members and our monthly attendance at games is up. We enjoy our golf across the coast and BBQs and refreshments at the club as the 19th. Our trip to Nelsons Bay was the highlight of the year so far and we will tour again early next year. As ever, we need more members to help with the raffles on Saturdays. The committee continues to keep the club successful and I’m sure their efforts are appreciated by all members. Any complaints, please see Butch, our complaints department head and President. Keef as Treasurer and Handicapper keeps the books up to date , and evens monthly winners, despite some suspect mathematics on score cards at times. Cairnsy, does his best as Secretary. Thanks to Avoca Bowling Club and Wyong Leagues for their support and to individual club sponsors. Any enquiries please contact Butch on 0405 251 467. Chris Cairncross Secretary
