Are you interested in the future? We have your dream job

Swerea aims to be an attractive workplace with skilled employees able to continually develop both personally and professionally. Excerpt from Swerea´s HR policy

Does Swerea only employ people with doctorates as researchers? No, a doctorate is not necessary. Our researchers include graduates with bachelor’s degrees, master’s degrees and doctorates. Our needs determine whom we employ. Please feel free to contact us to discuss this further. Do you work internationally? We participate in many international projects, which means business trips mostly within Europe, but even to the rest of the world. Moreover, we have daily contact with international partners and clients. We also have a subsidiary in France with operations in Brest and Saint-Étienne.

Do you offer internships? Internships are always offered at all our workplaces and are a good way for us to get to know each other.

Why is working at Swerea so interesting and enjoyable? At Swerea, you get the opportunity to test your ideas in real environments as we deliver tangible benefit to our industrial clients. You also get to work with a wide range of companies and products and, quite simply, to enjoy the best of both worlds – industry and research. We often work in teams, which we find a creative, enjoyable and productive work method. In addition to a specific role, almost everyone who works at Swerea acts as a project manager with broad opportunities to influence their career path.

Would you like to stretch the boundaries of what is technically possible? All while enjoying continual career and personal development?

Swerea is a knowledge-based company that delivers tangible business benefit to Swedish industry. Our projects, which are increasing in both number and size, are based on a scientific foundation and are driven by curious, creative people with great technical expertise. We continually recruit talented young professionals just beginning their careers. Naturally, we also recruit experts with experience in certain fields and people with good leadership skills. Instead of a traditional career path, we offer you unique opportunities to develop in many different areas. Perhaps you would like to lead a major EU initiative? Run confidential projects on behalf of our clients? Or further your knowledge in a particular field? Swerea offers you great freedom in shaping your projects, broadening your expertise and delving into subjects you find interesting. Moreover, if you become an industrial doctoral student you can be employed by us while working on your PhD. Would you like to influence the future? Create a career together with us.

Researcher

Here I have the opportunity to influence and shape that which I find interesting, such as the surface treatment of textiles. The fact that my research also gets put to practical use, that is, I can see the results of my work in stores in town, is especially satisfying.

Ideas can flow freely in any direction at all times here. I simply have to walk down the corridor and I’ll meet someone who wants to discuss a new idea, a new thought.

There are many opportunities to develop here at the company. I, for example, have moved from material corrosion in biofuels to the department that works with high-temperature corrosion. And now I’ve also begun doctoral studies at Chalmers University of Technology, as an industrial doctoral student at Swerea KIMAB.

I’m driven by being able to influence development in the energy and climate debate. Here I can make a real difference, together with colleagues, academia and industry. Parallel to this, the fact that I’m building a fantastic network of interesting people is an added bonus.
