Application for Accommodation, Campus Kolding ____________________________________________________________ IMPORTANT INFORMATION Please read the following information carefully before you fill in this application form The University of Southern Denmark campus Kolding guarantees accommodation for international full degree and exchange students. The guarantee only applies to applicants who apply with a complete student application form and an accommodation form within the deadlines mentioned below. Application You must submit this application when uploading the online application form. Since we need your signature, you must print this form out, fill it in and scan it.

Please be aware that: By submitting this application form, you undertake to enter into a tenancy agreement with the landlord or housing association who owns or administrates the accommodation. The most essential conditions in the tenancy agreement are described in the following, and please see an English translation of a standard Danish housing tenancy agreement at the following link http://www.sdu.dk/~/media/Files/Information_til/InternationalStudents/Housing /A8_UK_STANDARD.ashx We can also refer to descriptions on accommodation in Kolding here. Right of withdrawal In accordance with the Danish Act on Certain Consumer Contracts, you have the right to withdraw from your residential tenancy agreement up to 14 days after you have received the accommodation offer which is sent to you by e-mail (the cooling-off period). In order to withdraw from the accommodation offer, you must fill in a form and return it to the International Office in Kolding. You will find the form here. If you withdraw your application after termination of the cooling-off period (i.e. the period in which you can withdraw from your tenancy agreement), you will be charged with up to three months’ rent.

Accommodation offer In Kolding there are 3 accommodation alternatives: 1. A student studio or a 1-room flat with own kitchenette, toilet and bathroom 2. A room with own bathroom and shared kitchen with up to 4 fellow students 3. Sharing a flat with 2 to 3 other students (you will have your own room and share the bathroom and kitchen) It is not possible to choose one alternative over the other. You will receive only one accommodation offer. It will be sent to you by e-mail by the International Office in Kolding, usually in July or early August/late December or early January.

As there are many signal transmission suppliers on the Danish market, we are not able to state the monthly price. We therefore advice you to check your tenancy agreement for specifications on how to pay for the internet access and if it is not included in the rent, check out the market before making a decision. As a student in Denmark with your own room, you are defined as being a household. You should therefore expect to have to pay this fee while you are here. The fee is approximately DKK 195 per month. Contents insurance In Denmark, you are expected to have a contents insurance. If you choose not to take out insurance for your housing, you should be aware that there is no coverage for you in case of theft, burglary and fire. Rental period You must pay rent from the date on which your accommodation is available. If you arrive in Kolding for the autumn semester beginning 1 September, you will usually have to accept and pay for accommodation as early as from 1 August and as late as of 1 September. If you arrive in Kolding for the spring semester beginning 1 February, you should expect to have to accept and pay for accommodation as early as from 1 January and as late as of 1 February. You are responsible for paying rent for the room assigned to you until the termination of the tenancy agreement. Please notice that you must pay rent for two weeks after you move out of your room. Finding accommodation on your own If you decide not to accept our offer to help you find accommodation in Kolding, you must find accommodation yourself. If, after a period of time in the accommodation that we helped you find, you decide to choose alternative accommodation, you are free to do so, if you are not on a time-limited tenancy agreement.
