77 Pct. Community Newsletter March 2015 A Message From The Commanding Officer….. Peace and greetings from the men and women of the 77th Precinct. I would like to thank everyone who continually support the efforts and excellence of the 77th Precinct, and pledge a sincere commitment to nurture and forge the successful partnership between the 77th Precinct and the dynamic Crown Heights community it proudly serves. It is through that viable partnership we become empowered to effectively address crime, traffic and quality of life concerns.

Upcoming Community Events: Community Council Meeting - Place: at St Joseph R.C.C. – 856 Pacific Street (Underhill Ave -

Year to date, although the 77th Precinct is experiencing a 15% decrease in overall index crimes, there is a 28.6% (year to date) increase in robberies. However, because of responsive, effective uniform deployment, and timely , relentless investigative follow-up by the 77th Precinct Detective Squad, within the last 28 days there has been a 23.5% (or 21 verse 17) increase in robbery arrests. Those arrest effectively closed several identified robbery patterns that were established in December and January; and because of those key arrests, robberies have decreased by 9.5% within the last 28 days. Once again I am urging the 77th Precinct’s greatest resource, the community to partner with the police and assist us in crime. Remember: “ See something, say something, do something!” Any information regarding violent crime can be anonymously communicated through Crime Stoppers (1-800-577-8477), information regarding illegal firearms can be anonymously communicated through Gun-Stop (1-866-486-7867).
