2017 High Gravity Extravaganza Brewfest Deschutes Brewery Don't Rock the Goat The Bock style was originally a dark, malty, lightly-hopped ale first brewed in Einbeck, Germany. It was later adopted by Munich brewers and adapted as a lager style. Due to the Bavarian accent, Munich citizens pronounced "Einbeck" as "ein Bock" ("a billy goat"), and thus the style became known as "Bock." ABV: 7.0% IBU: 27 Malts: Aromatic Munich, Vienna, Melanoidin Hops: 100% Hallertau Mittelfruh Ochoco Brewing Company Fusebock A fusion of traditional imported German malts fermented and cold-conditioned with our house ale yeast. Malty flavors fused with a clean ale fermentation make this Bock rich but not too sweet. Hints of chocolate, plum raisin and Munich Malt permeate. We love it, so if you don't, you can bock off. ABV: 8.0% IBU: 28 High Street Brewery Voorhees Vortex | Hanns Anderson This delicious Strong Ale was brewed last year and aged in tank with Hogshead-soaked oak spirals. This particular batch was aged further with more oak spirals down here at the High Street Brewery. An oaky aroma will rise from the off-white head that sits on top of the thick, deep brown beer. This strong, silent brew masks its malty complexity with a not-so-subtle sweetness. The name comes from Friday the 13th... sort of. Jason Voorhees is the killer and we happen to have an employee named Jamie Voorhees who isn't afraid to sick her brother (presumably Jason) on you. She asked for a beer named after her, or else! I thought it wiser to appeal to her brother. We’ve all heard the story of a certain reindeer and his red nose, right? But do you know how his nose got red? 'Cause he was madder than a wet hen sittin’ on a cold egg. And you would be too if you had to graze on corn while you waited for Kringle, while the other reindeer enjoyed a field of delicious Mosaic Hops. But don’t worry. This beer is packed with them, for an out-of-season kind of flavor. It’s like using a palm as your Christmas tree. It’s quite festive, though. Festivus for the rest of us. So raise a pint for all those poor deer still stuck eatin’ corn. Malts: Red-X Hops: Mosaic OG: 1.080 TG: 1.018 ABV: 8.0% IBU: 100+ SRM: 16 Wild Ride Brew Co. It's meant to evoke grey days in Dublin and memories of good times and bad spent by a fire, whose flame -- like a glass of tasty, strong beer -- inevitably will disappear. We sought out flavors to mimic the atmosphere of sitting around the “dying embers of a cold, old fire.” Jasmine Pearl’s Lapsang Souchong adds aromas and flavors of pine smoke, while organic jalapeno peppers provide the slight heat. Peppermint leaves represent the last note on the palate, signifying the chill that sneaks up. Stout and black tea -- well, in terms of Dublin, they speak for themselves, don’t they?
