HOW TO PR REPARE A P POSTER FO OR PRESEN NTATION 1. Creatte a banner aat the top off the poster with the pooster title and author(s) aand the health system name. Lettering for th his sign shou uld not be leess than onee inch (1") higgh (30‐36 pointts). 2. Prepaare a written n summary o of your proje ect. To improve Text – Use a m minimal amo ount of text material. F ocus on two o or three po oints maximum. Use one line s U statements or bullet poiints to highliight key poin nts rather th han full se entences. Break up largge amounts o of blocked teext by using indented paaragraphs orr su ubheadings. Organization O – Follow the “tried and true” arranngement of o objectives, m methods, ressults, and conclusio ons. Arrange e these mate erials like neewspaper co olumns on th he poster bo oard. Graphics – Us G se simple ch harts, graphss, tables, clipp art, drawin ngs, symbols, and photoss to illustrate key points. Fo ont Type – U Use large letttering, at leaast 3/8” highh (24‐30 points), but do not use all upper case le etters. Font sshould be sim mple and eaasy to read (ii.e., Times N New Roman, Calibri, etc). The text sho ould be read dable from a pproximatelly three to fiive feet awaay or itt is too small. Originality Make e your presentation note eworthy. Re eview what’ss already been presenteed on the sam me topic and talk to your colleaggues; look fo or a unique ppresentation n angle.
Format One aadvantage o of this session is the “no lecture” forrmat. It is no ot necessaryy to prepare a formal presentattion — just b be prepared to discuss a ny aspect off your poster on a one‐to‐ one b basis.
PRESENTA ATION CHEECKLIST

Bring one o B or two copies of your completeed abstracct to display at you ur poster booth. These sshould be in a presentattion fo older and cle early labeled d “Display Co opy – Not foor Distributio on.” Your completted abstract should not be posted o n the posterr board.

Assemble a A a functionaal took kit to bring witth you includding: push piins to mount yo our poster, ccloth or paper for the baackground, sscissors, whiite correctio on tape or flu uid, black felt tip pen (to correct errors orr scratches) and any oth her supplies you might n need. Tape, Velcro, T adhesive, or staples can nnot be usedd on poster bboards.
Plan to carr P ry your poster in a sh hipping tu ube or casee to the meeeting. If you must ship ma m aterials send them to your hotel andd clearly marrk the package with your name and arrrival date. A ASHP cannot store posteers for you. D Do not leavee your posterr in he poster area before yo our schedule ed time to seet up. th
