COMPANY HISTORY Formed in April 1997, L-3 Communications encompasses over 90 Business Units worldwide, with over $13 billion in annual sales and over 65,000 employees. L-3 Communications, Aviation Recorders (L−3AR) designs and manufactures the industry standard in Flight Recorders. The Aviation Recorders product line dates back to the early 1960s and has been in continuous production since then. More than 80,000 recorders have been manufactured, and most are still in service. L-3AR recorders are recognized worldwide for their excellent crash survivability, state-of-the-art performance, and low cost of ownership. Over the years, ownership of the product line has passed from Fairchild Camera Corp. to a number of companies including Schlumberger, Loral, Lockheed Martin and L-3 Communications. Through these changes, our high−level of product quality and support has been maintained by our dedicated Aviation Recorders employees. From our AS-9100 and ISO-9001 certified facility in Sarasota, Florida, 200 dedicated L-3AR employees support customers worldwide with engineering, production, quality assurance, product support, marketing, and sales activities.

AIRCRAFT-ON-GROUND (AOG) SERVICE L−3AR provides 24−hour, 7−days−per−week AOG support and service in accordance with ATA WASG guidelines. PLEASE NOTE THAT AOG SUPPORT IS PROVIDED AT THE LINE REPLACEABLE UNIT (LRU) LEVEL ONLY. REQUESTS FOR SPARE OR REPLACEMENT SRUs OR COMPONENTS, OR INQUIRIES REGARDING LRUs NEEDING OR PREVIOUSLY RETURNED FOR REPAIRS, REGARDLESS OF WARRANTY STATUS, ARE NOT HANDLED ON AN AOG BASIS. For ALL AOG Service Requests: It is expected that Customers/Operators manage their operations in accordance with ATA WASG guidelines. With respect to these guidelines, Customers/Operators may be asked during an AOG call if spare inventories have been purchased according to L−3AR recommendations, and if availability of the spare inventories has been researched prior to the AOG call. You will be required to provide Your Name, Customer/Operator Name, Phone & Fax Number, Aircraft Type, Aircraft Tail Number, Location of AOG, Brief Summary of LRU Failure Mode, the Part Number of the failed LRU, and, if available, the Serial Number of the failed LRU. If you cannot provide the necessary information, L−3AR will nevertheless attempt to handle your request as “critical” and respond to your inquiry within 24 hours. In some cases, you may need to wait for information until the next business day. L−3AR Factory AOG Telephone Service, Normal Business Hours Monday − Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST. In some cases, the AOG Administrator may recommend contacting an L−3AR Authorized Repair Facility for a more timely response to your AOG needs. Authorized Repair Facility AOG Service Customers/Operators are invited and encouraged to contact the following Authorized Repair Facility locations for AOG service. If the Repair Facility requires L−3AR Factory assistance in response to the AOG, this will be coordinated in most cases by the Facility Representative taking the AOG call. Depending on the circumstances of the individual AOG, you may be referred to the L−3AR Factory. For North America, contact L−3AR or L−3 Communications (COR). For Europe & UK, contact Muirhead. For Asia, contact SAFRAN. For Australia, contact Flight Data Systems.

READ-OUT SUPPORT EQUIPMENT (ROSE) The Read−Out Support Equipment (ROSE) software is used to read out, analyze, and test L−3AR’s Model FA2100, F1000, and FA5000 families of recorders. Each copy of your ROSE software must now be registered via fax (941) 377-5591. Failure to register your ROSE software, and renew your annual software license agreement, may result in our inability to provide you with technical assistance with ROSE questions or problems. A single copy of the ROSE software costs $10,000 USD, and includes a one−year Software Maintenance Agreement. For information on multiple license discounts, and site license costs, refer to the current L−3AR Pricing Catalog. The annual ROSE Software Maintenance Agreement Renewal costs $1000 USD per copy. You are not required to use the latest version of ROSE if your fleet operations do not require it. However, you will not receive subsequent revisions of ROSE, or engineering support, if your Software Maintenance Agreement has lapsed. Once you have registered your software, you will receive an automatic e−mail notification to renew your agreement approximately 60 days before your existing agreement expires. The e−mail will request that you order part number 860−E2501−00 ROSE Software Maintenance Agreement. Include the serial number of the currently−registered ROSE license on your purchase order, and send to Daren Welker at [email protected], or fax (941) 377-5591.

ON−SITE INSTALLATION SUPPORT, 17TES3000 L-3AR provides technical service and installation support to customers during the installation and verification of our recorder systems. The man−day (8 hours) rate for these services is $2,500 USD with a three−day minimum. Advance notice of ten working days is required. If a ten−day notice is not provided, an expedite fee of 50% of the daily rate ($1,250 USD) will be charged. These services are provided at a man−day rate plus all lodging, incidental expenses, food and rental car. Airfare expenses are additional charges. The Product Support Group is comprised of personnel fully−qualified to train, service, and support our equipment.
