During the Reporting Period, three full-time positions were filled. The information required by FCC Rule 73.2080(c)(6) is provided in the charts that follow. INITIATIVES The employment unit engaged in the following broad outreach initiatives in accordance with various elements of FCC Rule 73.2080(c)(2): Established an internship program designated to assist members of the community to acquire skills needed for broadcast employment.

KFAI worked with 7 interns during this time period. Five interns came from McNally Smith College of Music; one came from Minneapolis Community and Technical College; and one was a high school intern from Minneapolis Southwest High School via The Step-Up program. All interns assisted with the production of on-air promotional carts, digital audio editing for news stories, and live performance audio engineering.

Participated in job banks, Internet programs, and other programs designed to promote outreach generally (i.e., that are not primarily directed to providing notification of specific job vacancies).

KFAI was involved in numerous events throughout the reporting period, such as offering live remote broadcasts and sponsoring local events and concerts, which are designed to promote outreach generally by making the station visible and accessible to members of the community KFAI distributes information about available opportunities (employment and volunteer) within KFAI at these events via station brochures and job announcements. Training Class Requirement: KFAI offers free training for active volunteers. Volunteers at KFAI come from diverse backgrounds and are recruited through on-air announcements, websites and various print ads. Board Certification Course The board certification course is a four- or sevenweek class that teaches basic board engineering and announcing skills.

September 2, 2013: KFAI welcomed 31 students from Augsburg College on its "Day of Service" to tour the studios, learn about careers in broadcasting and give 4 hours of community service in the field of mass communications.

Participated in other activities designed by the station employment unit reasonably calculated to further the goal of disseminating information as to employment opportunities in broadcasting to job candidates who might otherwise be unaware of such opportunities.
