TOOLS TO DETERMINE HEALTH OF CLUBS Club Health Assessment This tool provides important data that allows the zone chairperson to recognize clubs in the zone that may be struggling with membership, service activities, finance or LCIF contributions. Available to the zone chairperson as part of the district governor team, at a glance, one can view: • • • • • • • •

The status of a club Current member count Members added year to date (YTD) Members dropped year to date (YTD) Months since last Membership Report (MMR) Months since last Activity Report Finance concerns LCIF donations

Additional Notes:

Member Satisfaction The Membership Satisfaction Guide and the “How are Your Ratings?” questionnaire measure the satisfaction of members. They allow members to evaluate topics such as service activities, meetings, leadership opportunities, social experience and management of the club, which could help the zone chairperson better understand issues clubs may be having with membership. With this information at hand, the zone chairperson can then determine what type of support a club requires. Do club officers need to be counseled on effective meetings? Does a club need some support developing service projects or a membership growth plan? Additional Notes:

Club Visits Personal observations during club visits are an essential tool to help the zone chairperson understand the clubs and members better. Club visits not only help build harmonious relationships but also reinforce a sense of belonging to something bigger. Knowing the members and clubs in the zone will allow the zone chairperson to better understand some of the challenges – and successes - clubs and their members may be experiencing. Additional Notes:

Blueprint for a Stronger Club This tool provides a simple process for developing a strategic club plan with an emphasis on four core dimensions: • • • •

club operations service leadership development membership

The Blueprint for a Stronger Club helps clubs establish goals based on the results of an assessment, develop a plan and put the plan into action. Additional Notes:

District Governor’s Advisory Committee Meetings These meetings allow the zone chairperson to discuss concerns and elicit ideas from club presidents and secretaries. It also provides the zone chairperson an opportunity to provide updates on information obtained at the district level. The District Governor’s Advisory Committee will be discussed at greater length in module 3 of the zone chairperson online training. Additional Notes:
