America’s Business Benefit Association (ABBA) provides you an outstanding opportunity to join with thousands of others across the nation and enjoy savings on health, travel, consumer and business services. Described below are several of the valuable features included in all four membership packages — Principal, Personal, Professional and Protection. All four packages include all the benefits included in the ABBA Principal package, with each successive package including additional consumer benefits and different and higher dollar insurance protections. All ABBA membership packages include the following valuable features:

Identity theft insurance

Pays up to $2,500 ­— with no deductible ­– for expenses resulting from identity theft. This benefit can help pay for expenses you incur as a result of identity fraud, including attorney fees, notarized affidavits, lost wages and certified mail.

Roadside assistance

Through Road America, 24-hour coverage for the first $50 per occurrence for defined roadside emergency expenses. (Pre-registration required.)

Medical air travel assistance

When traveling more than 100 miles from your permanent residence, you will have a range of services to assist you in the event of an emergency, including emergency evacuation/repatriation, vehicle return, transportation of mortal remains, transportation of escort, minor children return/escort. (Not available to residents of Florida or Connecticut.)

Telephone a doctor

When your doctor is not available for nonemergencies, contact a CallMD physician 24/7 toll-free.

There is no ownership affiliation between ABBA and the insurance companies or product vendors whose products it endorses. Independent Producers of America, LLC (IPA), an insurance agency, is the exclusive marketer for ABBA. As such, IPA agents are both sales representatives for the insurance companies whose products ABBA endorses and membership enrollers for ABBA. Membership in ABBA can be purchased alone or in conjunction with an insurance plan. Separate rates would apply accordingly. In states where the insurance policy is issued to an association group master policy, ABBA membership is required to obtain the insurance coverage, and in states where the insurance policy is issued on an individual basis, ABBA membership is not required to obtain the insurance coverage. As such, ABBA membership is required in all states except for MT & SD to receive the insurance coverages included within the packages and in all states except for CO, GA, KS, MT and SD to apply for the separate major medical and short term medical insurance coverages. Please note, even in states where association membership is required to obtain insurance, association membership is not required to maintain the insurance. Similarly, if an insured member subsequently terminates health insurance with an endorsed carrier, ABBA membership is not automatically terminated. The ABBA membership package fees include the following: association dues, including for costs of the association consumer/business benefits; association administrative fees and insurance premiums.

Additional ABBA – endorsed insurance coverages available

Major medical insurance plans

Today, health insurance needs to provide you with choices. Through ABBA endorsed plans, you have choices of: • Lifetime benefit per covered person • Calendar-year maximum benefit per covered person • Calendar-year deductible plus coinsurance Easy to understand, easy to use • After your deductible and out-of-pocket maximum, plans pay the balance of covered expenses. • In choosing your plan options, remember that a higher deductible and coinsurance will lower your premium. • You cannot be singled out for premium increase or cancellation based on claims.

HSA-qualified high-deductible health plans

Health saving accounts or HSA-qualified plans, available in conjunction with the major medical insurance plan, combine high-deductible health insurance with a tax-favored savings account. Money in the savings account can help pay the deductible and out-of-pocket expenses. Money left in the health savings account earns interest and is yours to keep or spend on qualified medical expenses. There is no “use it or lose it” restriction with an HSA.* * Always consult your personal tax advisor regarding the tax implications of an HSA.

Short-term medical plans

These types of plans are limited in their benefits and provide coverage for up to 12 months.† • Coverage for individuals and families • Choice of benefit amount • Qualifies as creditable coverage • Flexibility – policy serves as basic or supplemental insurance for individuals between jobs, retirees and students. † Varies

Limited benefit insurance plans

These plans are suitable for members who: • Are not covered by corporate benefits • Are self employed and cannot afford a traditional major medical plan • Are uninsurable or have critical policy exclusions • Are unemployed or working part-time • Have health insurance but have limited or no coverage for dependents • Are healthy and rarely take advantage of insured benefits, but want access to reduced rates just in case

Hospital indemnity plans

These plans protect against covered medical expenses resulting from hospitalization, surgery and certain outpatient therapy services. • Daily cash benefits paid for periods of hospital confinement • Broad range of daily benefits available to meet your needs and budget • Optional benefits are available to customize coverage The major medical insurance plans listed in this brochure, including the HSA qualified plans, the short-term medical plans, the limited benefit medical plans and hospital indemnity plans are underwritten by Independence American Insurance Company. The availability of terms of coverage, including limitations and exclusions which apply, may vary by state.   America's Business Benefits Association also endorses health insurance plans underwritten by Madison National Life Insurance Company (MNL), Standard Security Life Insurance Company of New York (SSL),  Companion Life Insurance Company (CLIC), as well as plans underwritten by other highly rated insurance companies.  If you are interested in learning about other health insurance coverage options endorsed by ABBA, please contact your ABBA representative or call ABBA at (800) 992-8044 and you will be referred to a licensed insurance agent.
