Venue Overview – Our Fleet Mariposa Cruises operates a high quality fleet of six cruise ships in the Toronto Harbour and Lake Ontario. Our fleet provides a perfect balance varying in size and styles to meet the needs and accommodate groups of 20 to 575 passengers for many different functions. NORTHERN SPIRIT Delightfully bright and contemporary, the Northern Spirit is the favourite choice to comfortably entertain large groups from 150 to 320 wedding guests. With an impressive list of high profile functions hosted onboard, this 140-foot ship boasts three spacious decks. The two interior decks, with their abundance of natural light and subtle tones, create a spacious and luminous atmosphere and include beautiful black Chiavari chairs. The third open deck provides you with the largest dance floor in the harbour! No other ship offers the Northern Spirit’s dining capacity, and versatility to accommodate just about any wedding. The spacious outer decks offer additional dance floors and bench seating from which one can admire the views. The Captain Matthew Flinders offers infinite possibilities to incorporate your personal style and wedding theme. It is ideal for weddings catering for 100 to 230 guests. ROSEMARY The classic choice for an intimate and informal wedding, the Rosemary can accommodates up to 40 wedding guests. A 62-foot, tastefully decorated yacht, Rosemary has a rooftop deck offering unobstructed views of the spectacular scenery while cruising through the Toronto harbour and Island Waterways. Passengers get pampered by the crew, and catered to by the executive chef. The Rosemary is an ideal venue to add elegance to any small and intimate wedding. Transport Canada certified: 45 passengers

Venue Overview – Our Fleet SHOWBOAT Make your special day a Showboat wedding! A southern charmer much like the musical of the same name, the Showboat was newly renovated providing modern features to its vintage vibe. The Showboat’s universal appeal, charm and versatility will allow your guests to relax and enjoy the scenic cruise through Toronto’s harbour and Island Waterways.

The Showboat is equipped with a multi-deck sound system, climate-controlled dining deck, and new dining room décor. The showboat is the perfect size for weddings between 60 and 90 guests. Its comfortable and bright main deck features large picture windows to enjoy the ever changing scenery. The Showboat’s all-season upper deck is ideal for a pseudo-outdoor wedding ceremony and cocktail reception, offering your guests 360 degree views of the iconic Toronto skyline and harbour. The Showboat is perfect for the modern bride and groom seeking a more contemporary lounge like atmosphere. Venue Overview – Our Fleet ORIOLE Lavish your guest with the unparalleled beauty of this elegant ship. When you need to impress the most discerning of guests, the Oriole delivers. A great lakes steamship replica, the Oriole takes guests on a voyage back in time. Decked with varnished wood, wrought iron, polished brash, plush upholstery and mahogany chiavari chairs, the Oriole is ideal for wedding groups between 50 to 72 guests. The Oriole’s upper deck is perfect for brides and grooms seeking an outdoor venue. KLANCY II Klancy II is ideally suited to small wedding groups from 40 to 56 guests. One of the best features of this stunning yacht is the bright and versatile upper deck, perfect for cocktail hour and later as the dancefloor. The space can be transformed into a lounge like atmosphere or setup with small tables and chairs depending on your vision. The Klancy’s comfortable dining salon is tastefully styled and makes a dramatic statement while the spacious bright upper deck offers versatile space that can be either fully enclosed or windows open to enjoy the spectacular views. The bow of the ship is a favourite spot for intimate ceremonies, providing a breathtaking backdrop of the water and sunset through Toronto’s harbour and Island Waterways. Weddings with Mariposa! What to expect from our Team The professional team at Mariposa is committed to hosting your day - your way. Our team of skilled professionals will be with you every step of the way. From your Sales Manager and Event Coordinator, our exceptional hospitality and culinary team to our navigational crew, we have an entire team working together to deliver your wedding vision. Together we have hosted more weddings than any other Toronto cruise operator, an honour we do not take lightly. Here is an explanation of the roles on your wedding team:

with your planner, MC or Key Contact onboard. It is the same document our team will reference to ensure that we are all “singing off the same song sheet”.

• Discusses in detail your Banquet Event Order with your Event Coordinator prior to your wedding.

• Is your main contact onboard and is responsible for the event timing, set up and flow.

• Sets the floor plan, works with your vendors, and

organizes details with the DJ and MC. Along with the Hospitality Team, your Cruise Manager works in the background to ensure the focus is on you.

• Ensures that the meals & beverages are served and dishes are cleared, all with warm and friendly service.

• Our DJ will have the play list provided and be prepared to get the celebration going.

Your Navigational Crew:

• They are equally important as they will be

responsible for your safety onboard all while giving you an amazing cruise through Toronto’s waterways.

• The Captain, Mate and Deckhand will be

planning to provide you with a smooth voyage based on wind direction, lake conditions and boat traffic. They will adhere to the schedule as set out, but can also be flexible, depending on late arrivals, etc.

After your wedding, your Sales Manager will follow up to hear all about your celebration. Our team especially enjoys seeing your stunning photographs! At Mariposa, we love hosting weddings and one thing is certain - no two Mariposa weddings are ever the same. It is our team’s commitment that YOUR wedding is celebrated YOUR way.

We are licensed by the LCBO and cannot permit any alcohol or wine onboard beyond what we have ordered under our license. We have a range of beverage services to choose from including: Cash Bar – Your guests can purchase their own beverages. Host Bar – Based on consumption, the host will pay a minimum of $25.00 per person as a deposit prior to the cruise. Upon reconciliation of the bar, outstanding payments are due upon docking and any refunds will be processed within 30 days. Unlimited Fountain Pop – the host will pay a minimum of $6.00 per person prior to the cruise. This includes all fountain soft drinks. Unlimited Pop and Juice – the host will pay a minimum of $6.75 per person prior to the cruise. This includes all fountain soft drinks, juices, and bottled water Drink Tickets – Host can purchase drink tickets for their guests from our gold and silver drink packages, any unused tickets upon disembarking can be returned to the Cruise Manager for a refund within 30 days.

Gold Bar – Includes the same beverages as the Silver Bar, as well as: Premium and Imported Beers (Keith’s, Stella Artois, Corona), Premium Red and White Wine, 10 different flavoured liqueurs, McGuinness Long Island Iced Tea, Amaretto Dell Amorosa, Bailey’s Irish Cream, Kahlua, Ramazzotti Sambuca, Bombay Sapphire Gin, Crown Royal, Johnny Walker Red Label, Jack Daniel’s Goldschlager, Jagermeister, Jameson Irish Whiskey, Meaghers Triple Sec, Southern Comfort, Absolut Vodka, Malibu Rum, Appleton Rum. Martini Luge – Ice sculptures may be ordered with varying designs to match your theme or colours and then hire an additional bartender to serve drinks all night through the Luge. Signature Drink served at Cocktail Hour – Let our mixologist create a cocktail specific to your event. Prices vary.

Wine Service – Our hospitality team can serve your guests while they enjoy dinner with their choice of red or white wines. Wine service is complimentary, and you only pay for the bottles of wine consumed. Wine types must be preselected from our house varieties, or you may choose to Special Order. Refer to our Specialty Orders section for more details.

Specialty orders – while you cannot bring your own wine or alcohol on board, items not on our bar list can be ordered under Mariposa Cruises liquor license through the LCBO with a standard 3x industry markup. These specialty orders must be pre-paid for the specified quantities. Please note a $5.00 restocking fee per bottle is applicable for any unopened bottles that may be refunded. To ensure availability, wines must be ordered 14 days prior to event. Orders are subject to LCBO availability.

FAQ

Can we have our ceremony onboard? Yes – depending on the number of guests, each of our vessels has specific capacities for onboard ceremonies. Unlike The Love Boat, however, our Captain is not an officiant.

Your final number of guests must be confirmed 48 business hours prior to your wedding.

Do you offer rehearsals for our wedding?

We do not include the minister or officiant in our packages; however you will have access to our preferred suppliers which includes officiants.

We can offer a wedding rehearsal for you at an additional cost however it is subject to the boats availability. This must be arranged with our events department one week in advance of your wedding date. It is important to note that your vessel will not be set up for your wedding at the time of the rehearsal.

How many people can you accommodate?

Do you include the minister or officiant?

Each of our vessels has varied guest capacity and seating capacities depending on the type of event you have chosen.

What is the timeline for cruising?

Absolutely you can bring your own wedding cake, although you will be required to fill out a food waiver prior to boarding. We cannot guarantee that the vessel will have refrigeration space for your item.

We offer both afternoon and evening cruises based on 5 hours.

Can we bring our own alcohol and/or wine?

We are licensed by the LCBO and cannot permit any alcohol or wine onboard beyond what we have ordered under our license.

Depending on the boats schedule, additional hours of cruising may be purchased. Speak with your Sales Manager directly about the additional cost as it varies by boat.

How far in advance do we need to book? In order to secure your anticipated wedding date, we recommend you book as far in advance as possible, as popular dates will fill up quickly. We have also hosted weddings within a week’s notice.

How are payments made and when do we have to guarantee the number of guests? At time of booking, your initial charter fee deposit will be required along with your signed contract. Following this, your charter fee balance will be due 60 days prior to your charter. Food and beverage totals will be required 10 business days prior to your wedding based on your minimum guest count guarantee.

How much time do we have for decorating? You will have access to the venue 2 hours prior to your boarding time for set up and 45 minutes following the final departure of your guests to tear down your décor. All décor does need to be removed from the boat the same day.

What are your décor restrictions? Confetti, lit candles, or adhesives (packing tape/ duct tape) are restricted. We suggest you discuss your décor prior to your wedding with your Event Coordinator.

Can we drop off giveaways and gift box earlier then the day of? You may drop off small, non-perishable items to our office in the days leading up to your wedding date. Florals and large items will be accepted at the boat on your wedding day.

FAQ (continued) When should our equipment and décor be dismantled by? You will have 45 minutes after final disembarkment to dismantle your equipment and décor items.

What are your power needs/restrictions? Special power requirement needs must be discussed with your Event Coordinator prior to sailing to ensure we can accommodate your requests.

Are chair covers included? Chair covers are not included as part of the rental fee, however we would be happy to help source chair covers for you from an event supplier.

Is the DJ included? Yes, one of the great benefits to 5 of our vessels is that they include a DJ! You will work closely with your Event Coordinator to detail your music preferences.

Can the menu be customized? Of course - all our menus can be customized to suit your needs; however the price may change depending on what modifications you wish to make to our menus.

Can we sample the food? We do not offer food tastings, however, if you and your partner would like to join a Public Lunch or Dinner Cruise to try a variety of our food offerings once you have booked your wedding with us, your Sales Manager would be happy to arrange this.

Are soft drinks included in the menu? All our wedding menus include coffee and tea with dessert, however all soft drinks and alcoholic beverages are additional. You may want to consider our unlimited soft drink package- check out our beverage offerings for more details.

Host Bar vs Open Bar We do not offer an Open Bar, but offer a Host Bar instead. Our Host Bar is based on consumption, where the host will pay a minimum of $25.00 per person as a deposit prior to the cruise. Upon reconciliation of the bar, outstanding payments are due upon docking and any refunds will be processed within 30 days.

Is there a change room for the bride? Unfortunately, there is not a bridal suite or change room for the bride on any of our vessels.

Are water taxi’s available? Water taxis are available on certain vessels (Northern Spirit, Showboat, Oriole, and Klancy). If you have booked one of these 4 boats, we can pre-arrange your water taxi for your minister or photographers if they have a scheduled time that they are getting off the boat. Alternatively, you may ask your Cruise Manager while on board to request a water taxi for any guests who may be looking to get on or off the boat. Keep in mind, you do need to be in the inner harbour for a water taxi to get to the vessel.

Do you have a preferred hotel? We do work closely with both the Radisson and Westin Harbour Castle and your Sales Manager would be able to provide you with pricing and connect you to the individual hotel Sales contacts.

What is the exact address I should use on my invites? Always include the name of the boat: (i.e. The Captain Matthew Flinders) 207 Queens Quay West, Toronto, Ontario (at the bottom of York St.) All Mariposa boats are docked beside 207 Queens Quay, either on the east or south side of the building.

What are the parking rates in the area?

Parking rates vary, however most are between $15 and $20 for daily parking in the waterfront area.

Board any Harbourfront Streetcar directly from Union and exit at York St. (second stop). We are also a short walk south from Union Station, either through the PATH or along York St. BY AUTOMOBILE: EAST BOUND (COMING FROM THE WEST): From Lakeshore Blvd, turn right on Simcoe Street. Park either in Standard Parking (entrance on your left) or enter the Harbourfront Parking Lot straight through the Queens Quay traffic lights. WEST BOUND: (COMING FROM THE EAST): From Lakeshore Blvd, turn left (south) on to York St. At Queens Quay, turn right (west) onto Queens Quay. FROM DOWNTOWN: The most efficient route to parking at the waterfront is south bound Simcoe.

Deliveries? Delivery access may be permitted for vendors and caterers- speak with your Event Coordinator for access times and routes. Please see map below for delivery route.
