Join Miss Sarah and Miss Beth for a special week of music-making! This week children will move, sing and play instruments every day while spending time in the preschool routine. Perfect for little learners, this musical week provides a gentle refresher or introduction to the joy of the preschool world during the summertime months. Children will learn about an instrument every day as well as make some of their own to bring home! On Friday morning, camp will conclude with a performance of the children’s favorite tunes from the week.

Week 2: June 13 –17 Once Upon a Time: The Classics

Classic children’s stories, music and costumes little ones love. Each day includes a ballet class, craft, movie clip and a performance. Each character’s prince or animal friend will join us for our boy participants. Supplies and snack included. Characters: Cinderella, Belle, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Ariel

Little Chefs Camp

Yummy, yummy in my tummy! Come join Miss Jenny as children learn to mix, measure and pour to cook some fun foods. We will be exploring different tastes and textures of foods every day. When kids help prepare their own food, they develop a sense of achievement and are willing to try more foods! You may be surprised what your little chef might eat! We will be using a variety of foods that may affect children with allergies. It will be a peanut-free camp. Please contact the front desk with any questions regarding allergies.

Mary Poppins Broadway Tap and Voice Intensive

Welcome to Number 12 Cherry Tree Lane, London. Enhance your musical theatre skills in this dance, tap and vocal intensive. Students will combine both dance and vocal techniques to present a review of some of Mary Poppin’s greatest hits, including “Step in Time,” “Chim Chim Cher-ee” and “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!”

Ballet Variations Intensive

Immerse yourself in a week if classical ballet technique, pointe work and variations from classical ballets like Don Quixote, Giselle, and Les Sylphide.

Week 3: June 20 –24 Mad Scientists!

Do you have a child who is interested in how things work, likes to get a little messy, and is always up for trying an experiment? If so, this is the camp for them! Kids get the opportunity to use their active minds to become budding preschool scientists. Miss Jenny will offer hands-on, age-appropriate science experiments every day of the week! Children will be exploring magnets, slimy concoctions, fizzy experiments and all kinds of things to help engage their natural curiosity about how things work.

Star Wars

Have you ever wanted to be a Jedi? Come spend a week immersed in the world of Star Wars! We will explore this world with song, dance, craft and film. By the end of the week, you and your friends will be certified Star Wars enthusiasts.

Poms Camp

Do you love to dance with a team and share your spirit of dance? If so, then the Nolte Poms Camp is the perfect fit your you! You will learn the fundamentals of pom technique and a poms dance while having fun with your friends. At the end of the week, you will go home with your own set of Nolte Poms!

Ballet Variations Intensive

Do you want to improve your ballet technique? This is the week to do it. Spend the week getting stronger as you immerse yourself in technique, pointe and variations classes from the classical ballet Le Corsaire.

Tap Intensive

Come join Sean and a guest tap master as we spend a week honing in on technique and learning brand new choreography. This camp is for the dedicated tap dancer who wants to expand their style, musicality and skill!

Week 5: July 5– 8 Oh A Camping We Will Go!

Join Miss Beth on a “camping trip” at preschool! Children will learn camp songs, have campfires with storytelling and s’mores, make crafts, study Iowa wildlife, and learn how to set up a tent! Learning how to camp gives kids a sense of independence and teaches responsibility, collaboration, respect for nature and outdoor safety. Each day campers will learn about an important part of camping: getting ready to go camping, setting up camp and safety tips, building a fire, and respecting the camp site.

Avengers Hip Hop/Tap

Attention boys: We are calling on all Super Heroes! Enjoy the week exploring the modern marvels of your favorite Avenger Super Heroes through hip hop dance and tapping toes. You’ll also assemble daily crafts and nurture your own inner super hero.

Write a Musical with Ian

Create a musical! Over this week long camp students will collaborate to create a new and original musical of their own. From set and costume design, to playwriting, to song and lyric composition, students will learn the basic structures in cultivating and creating a new musical work.

Broadway Voice

Explore and unlock your vocal potential with this Broadway Voice boot camp! Explore and learn the styles of Broadway singing while enhancing great vocal technique and performance skills. Over this weeklong class, we will explore the different vocal styles of rock, jazz and contemporary Musical Theatre. Previous vocal experience is recommended.

Matilda Musical Theatre Camp

Currently playing on Broadway, Matilda has captivated audiences globally with its catchy music and resounding themes of youth empowerment. When Matilda, a young girl with mystical powers, meets her match in her callous principle Miss Trunchbull, all bets are off. This musical theatre camp is sure to be a favorite!

Elements 1: Intensive Camp and Choreography

Elements Intensive is for dancers that want to experience a professional, intimate dance workshop. Participants will learn from elite soloists from some of the best dance companies in the world, as well as some of the best choreographers in the field. Students can choose to attend the workshop for 1–3 weeks. This intensive will end with a student performance. Evening rehearsals for the August 4–5 Gala

Week 7: July 18 –22 On the Farm

Miss Sarah invites your child to join her for a week on the farm! Spend the week singing, reading, creating works of art and learning all about the farm while getting used to the preschool routine. A great review during summer months or gentle practice for first timers! Children will love learning about farm animals and investigating the seeds that farmers plant. Each day children will create something to represent farm life, including tractor track painting, veggie printmaking, and corn mosaics. Miss Sarah will share literature such as Miss Wishy Washy’s Farm, Otis the Tractor, The Cow Who Clucked, Big Red Barn and much more with your child each day. To inspire pretend play and spur on little imaginations, there will also be some fun, hands-on surprises like “sheep shearing” and “cow milking!”

Once Upon a Time: All Stars

Classic children’s stories, music and costumes little ones love. Each day includes a ballet class, craft, movie clip and a performance. Tangled Musical Theatre Camp

This exploratory musical theatre class will allow every child to relive the story of Rapunzel and begin to utilize the components of acting, singing and dancing while working our way through Disney’s Tangled. Will Rapunzel discover that she is actually a lost princess? Will Flynn Rider turn over his bad boy ways for a dazzling girl that lives in a tower? Find out in this action-packed and interactive camp!

Which emotion are you? Join us for a weeklong journey of exploring your favorite Inside Out characters. Each day will be a fun-filled adventure with Joy, Anger, Disgust, Sadness and Fear through theatre, dance, music and craft. We will provide a daily snack.

Sing Disney Voice Camp

Explore and learn fundamental singing techniques while we sing some of Disney’s greatest classic and contemporary hits! This beginning vocal class will help young students develop tone, pitch accuracy and use vocal expression, all while singing some of the most beloved Disney hits.

Broadway Rocks Voice, Dance and Theatre Camp

Become a rock star with this fun and interactive vocal camp! Enhance your vocal chops over this weeklong camp while we explore rock-and-roll hits from some of Broadway’s best rocking shows, including Rock of Ages, We Will Rock You and School of Rock!

Week 9: August 1–5 Planes Go High, Submarines Go Low

For ages 3-5 and potty trained. Join Miss Leslie and Miss Natalie on the discovery adventures on a plane and in a submarine! Kids get the opportunity to use their imaginations while captaining an airplane and driving under water. What will we discover way up high and at the bottom of the sea? Children will be exploring the sky, the sea and the creatures we find in both. Join us to let your imagination run wild, your plane fly at the speed of sound and your submarine touch the ocean floor!

The Magic of Stage Make-up with Special Guest Instructor

Join us as we delve into the magical world of stage makeup! Over the course of this class, you will learn to skillfully apply your own makeup, to create and render your own designs, and how to use the power of makeup to transform yourself into any person or fantastical creature you can imagine. The end of the class will culminate in a demonstration to showcase a character entirely of your own creation!

No Fear Shakespeare Theatre Camp

Does Shakespeare have to be the boring stuff you learned about in school? Absolutely not! Join us for an in-depth, action-packed exploration of the history and language of his plays, how to perform them with panache, and how to bring the work of the world’s first superstar out of the past and into the year 2016! Sharpen your acting skills (and your wits) as we work towards a presentation for the ages.

Nutcracker Ballet Camp

Our favorite holiday tradition comes to the studio this summer for a week of ballet, Nutcracker choreography and holiday crafts. Dancers interested in auditioning for our December Nutcracker may use this week as their audition. Please note: Age 6+ and enrollment in Ballet 1 or higher this fall is required for all participants.

Sewing 201 — Platter Tutu

Do you want to learn how to make a tutu and become part of the Nolte sewing team? Spend the week learning the traditional techniques used to make a platter tutu. By the end of the week, you’ll know the tips, tricks and traditional methods used to make these beautiful costumes.

Week 11: August 15 –19 A Tale of Two Stories

Take a story and make it come alive with drama, movement and music! Come spend a week with Miss Betsy and Ian as they explore the book Lon Po Po: a Red-Riding Hood Story from China, translated by Ed Young, as well as our own well-known version of Red Riding Hood. Throughout the week, children will learn about storytelling through music (song and instrumentation), dramatic movement, use of props (made by the students during the week) and spoken word. This camp will conclude with a short performance!

Chicago The Musical Camp

The roarin’ 20s are alive and well with Kander and Ebb’s musical, Chicago. Crime, liquor and murder run rampant in Chicago’s speakeasies, and Velma Kelley, an infamous jazz performer, finds herself front and center in one of Chicago’s most infamous murder trials. Combining the classic jazz style of Fosse and the unique vocal styling of 1920s jazz, this class promises to be a rip-roaring, swinging good time.

Summer Technique Tuition and Camp Fees and Cancellation Policy I agree that all technique classes, camps and intensives require a non-refundable* or transferable deposit to hold my student’s spot at the time of registration along with a registration fee for new students or families The remainder of the amount will be due the first day of the technique class, camp or intensive. I understand that in the event that I decide to cancel or change my student’s enrollment in a program or class it is my obligation to inform the office in writing of this request at least 2 weeks prior to the program. There will be no refunds, transfers for withdrawals or cancellations after the camp or class has begun. *All deposits are non-refundable or transferable to other programs, classes or students, with the exception of cancellation or withdrawal of a program 2 weeks prior to the start date and we are able to enroll a student from the waitlist to fill your student’s spot.
