The South Australian State election is where you choose the people you want to make laws for South Australia.

Voting is when you choose from a list of people who you want to make the laws for South Australia.

When are elections? South Australian State elections are every 4 years. The next election is 15 March 2014.

You are an Australian Citizen.

You are 18 or older.

The Electoral Roll

The electoral roll is the list of people who can vote at elections.

Who can be on the electoral roll? You can be on the electoral roll if:

You are an Australian Citizen.

You are 16 or older.

You have lived at your address for more than one month.

How do I put my name on the electoral roll?

You must fill out an enrolment form.

Where can I get an enrolment form?

From a post office

Where do I vote?

On Election day you vote at a polling place.

Where are polling places? Polling places are announced before every election. They can be at: • Schools • Community centres • Churches • Halls

Before the election we can tell you where your nearest polling place is.
