The VL2221/2821 PCL driver printer properties window has 7 tabs; Setup, Per-Page Setting, Overlay, Watermark, Quality, Font and Version. The Setup Tab allows users to select paper, binding and output options. The Per-Page Setting tab gives options for covers and inserts. The Overlay tab shows print resolution. The Watermark tab provides the ability to print using watermarks, stamps and distribution numbers. The Quality tab lets users have control over the printing of black for text, images and patterns. The Font tab allows users to select TrueType or Printer fonts, and control whether they are downloaded as bitmaps or outlines. The Version tab simply displays the version of the driver. Combined, these selections can help produce excellent quality presentation-ready documents worthy of employees and customers.

SELECT Print from the File Menu 3. SELECT the Generic 36/28/22BW-3 PCL Driver 4. CLICK Properties 5. On the Setup tab, CHECK Staple and then SELECT 1 Staple from the menu 6. SELECT Double-Sided from the Print Type option window

PLACE two 8 ½ X 11 sheets of colored paper in the Bypass Tray, portrait position Note: If using printed sheets, place paper face down in the bypass tray 2. Open a multi-page Microsoft Word Document 3. SELECT Print from the File menu 4. SELECT the Generic 36/28/22BW-3 PCL Driver 5. CLICK Properties 6. Under the Per-Page Setting tab, SELECT Front Cover and Back Cover

7. SELECT Blank for both the front and back cover 8. Under Paper Source, SELECT Bypass Tray 9. CLICK OK to start printing the document

VL2221/VL2821 PRINT JOB SHOPS Booklet Creation Print documents in booklet form directly at the MFP. The MFP will saddle staple and crease sheets for folding. Just fold the documents and hand them out. Note: 11 x 17 Paper must be loaded in Tray 2. 1. Open a Microsoft Word Document at least 6 pages long 2. SELECT Print from the File menu 3. SELECT the Generic 36/28/22BW-3 PCL Driver 4. CLICK Properties 5. On the Setup tab, under Print Type, SELECT Booklet

6. SELECT Center Staple and Fold 7. CLICK OK to start printing the document Note: 8 ½ X 11 booklets may also be created by eliminating steps 11 – 13.

VL2221/VL2821 PRINT JOB SHOPS Document Control Print a document using Secure Print Secure print allows sensitive documents to be printed to a public MFP. The documents are held in the HDD until the owner enters the proper password. 1. Open a Microsoft Word Document 2. SELECT Print from the File menu 3. SELECT the Generic 36/28/22BW-3 PCL Driver 4. CLICK Properties 5. On the Setup tab, SELECT Secure Print from the Output Method drop-down menu

6. When the pop-up box appears, ENTER a Secure Print ID and 4-digit password

7. CLICK OK to close the pop-up box 8. CLICK OK to start printing the document Pg 7

5. ENTER the Secure Print ID, then TOUCH Enter

VL2221/VL2821 PRINT JOB SHOPS Print Watermarks A watermark can be printed on a document to identify it as Confidential, Draft or a Proof Copy (for example). Watermarks can help control document distribution, and keep them from being handled improperly. 1. Open a Microsoft Word Document 2. SELECT Print from the File menu 3. SELECT the Generic 36/28/22BW-3 PCL Driver 4. CLICK Properties 5. CLICK the Watermark Tab and CLICK the Watermark check box

SELECT the Generic 36/28/22BW-3 PCL Driver 4. CLICK Properties 5. On the Watermark Tab, CLICK the Watermark check box and CLICK the Distribution Number Stamping check box

6. Under Pages to Print, SELECT All Pages 7. The default starting number is 1; if a different number is required, ENTER the desired starting number 8. Under Density, SELECT Light 9. CLICK OK to close the Properties menu 10. CLICK OK to start printing the document

For this exercise, print a document with 4 pages on each side of the paper 1. Open a Microsoft Word document at least 4 pages long 2. SELECT Print from the File menu 3. SELECT the Generic 36/28/22BW-3 PCL Driver 4. CLICK Properties 5. On the Setup tab, Click Combination and SELECT 4 in 1 from the drop-down menu
