SUPPORTS FOR PV MODULES Roof fixing supports for photovoltaic modules in plastic material. Suitable for any photovoltaic module with aluminum frame. To fix the single module you need 4 corner supports. The supports must be fixed to the roof safely by using appropriate glue. However, it is always recommended to reinforce the fixation with screws.

UFLEX® semi-flexible solar modules provide clean and reliable power even in adverse weather conditions. They are robust and resistant to corrosion, lightweight and ultrathin, therefore easily usable in various applications. Slightly bendable, they can be mounted even on curved surfaces. They are safe to step-on and anti-slip, therefore particularly suitable to be installed on the deck of a boat. They feature multi-crystalline high performance cells with silver anodized aluminium frames. Black or white frames also available on request. XUNZEL™ - SEMI-FLEXIBLE SOLAR PANELS The Xunzel™ solar panels are very thin (3 mm – 0,12”), light and bendable up to 30°. Thanks to the innovative All-Back-Contact Technology, these solar panels supply higher power than conventional PV modules of same size. By adopting the Back-Contact technique, the wafer can be coated with flexible materials and finally forms the high efficiency flexible solar panel. These panels offer high performances also early in the morning, late in the evening and even on cloudy days. They effectively absorb different wavelengths of light to generate more electricity. Furthermore, the hotter it gets, the better is their performance compared to competitor efficiency. Designed for boat and RVs applications, for off-grid solutions (telecom, ups-backup energy, street lighting, etc.)

MARINE PV SOLAR MODULES
1.4 Sunware solar modules, without glass, are functionally reliable, robust, light-weight, weather-proof and sea-water resistant: therefore they have been specially designed for marine applications on board. The innovative manufacturing process, make them particularly suitable to be installed on the deck of the boat, avoiding vibrations and the negative effects of high temperature. Self-cleaning and safe to step-on, SUNWARE modules are easy to bend and can therefore adhere to the deck (maximum bending 3%, i.e. bending of 3 cm per 1 m long module). Each module is supplied complete with stainless steel back-plate, a sea-water proof and UV resistant cable (3 m long – red/blue 2x1.5 mmq), a surrounding edge protection profile and mounting stainless steel eyelets for easy installation using screws, hooks or ropes.

METASOLE™ PV MOUNTING SYSTEM Mounting solution MetaSole™ enables fast and inexpensive installation of framed modules on roofing featuring corrugated metal sheets having a thickness between 0.40 mm and 1.00 mm. Only four different components are required for the direct installation of the modules: a clamp base with optimised weight, two thin sheet metal screws with special coating, one end clamp, and one middle clamp. The screw with a crowding tip makes pilot drilling unnecessary, which results in extremely short mounting time.

VARIOSOLE™ MOUNTING SYSTEM The VarioSole™ is suitable for all roofing types, framed PV modules featuring a thickness between 34 and 50 mm and, thanks to height-adjustable mounting elements, even for unlevelled roofs. The installation of the few, partially already pre-assembled components is easy and fast. VarioSole is a rail system that is mounted on the rafters with special roof hooks. All that is usually necessary for the installation is to remove or slide up single tiles. Removing the entire roof covering is therefore not required. Morningstar’s Ground Fault Protection Device (GFPD) is an innovation for ground fault detection and interruption for the photovoltaic (PV) industry. It has greater sensitivity and better isolation while maintaining the bond to earth ground. Ground fault protection is used in electrical systems to prevent current from following any unintended paths during a ground fault. ■ Simple and Flexible Installation: side or below flush mounting with coupling hardware included. Includes fused battery cable for power. Compatible with other supplier’s PV controllers and inverters. For positive or negative grounded PV systems ■ Greater Sensitivity: more precise than fused ground fault protection, it activates starting at 300mA compared to 1A for alternative solutions ■ Mantains the bond to earth ground: normally grounded components (conductors, controller, battery and DC loads) will not be left floating ■ No fuses: avoids problematic replacements of fuses, which are often unavailable at remote sites. Uses high quality breaker switches that continue to operate after ground fault interruptions ■ Safety features: breaks the connection to the PV array during a fault condition. It leaves the battery and DC loads grounded under all conditions. Alternative ground fault solutions require a warning label on the battery to note that dangerous voltage are present ■ Better isolation: disconnects both the positive and negative conductor. Completely isolates the ground fault the controller, battery and loads ■ Supports both single controller and multiple controller systems: will only shut off affected controllers while maintaining the system earth bond. The built-in BMS Battery Management System ensure that the individual cells will be charged and discharged (balancing) and ensure battery life if used with proper charging system and a charging/discharging protection. VICTRON ENERGY® Lithium-ION batteries 12,8 Volt Lithium-iron-phosphate (LiFePO4 or LFP) is the safest of the mainstream li-ion battery types. The nominal voltage cell is 3,2V (lead-acid: 2V/cell). A 12,8V Li-ion battery therefore consists of 4 cells connected in series; and a 25,6V battery consists of 8 cells connected in series.

4.4 ■ Efficient . In several applications (especially off-grid solar and/or wind), energy efficiency can be of crucial importance. The round trip energy efficiency (discharge from 100% to 0% and back to 100% charged) of the average lead-acid battery is 80%. The round trip energy efficiency of a Li-ion battery is 92% ■ Weight reduction of the battery pack (with equal energy used) up to 70% referred to lead type. ■ Lithium-ion batteries are more expensive when compared to leadacid. But in demanding applications, the high initial cost will be more than compensated by longer service life, superior reliability and excellent efficiency

Why a Battery Management System (BMS) is needed: ■ A LFP cell will be damaged if the voltage over the cell falls to less than 2,5V. ■ A LFP cell will be damaged if the voltage over the cell increases to more than 4,2V. Lead-acid batteries will eventually also be damaged when discharged too deeply or overcharged, but not immediately. A lead-acid battery will recover from total discharge even after it has been left in discharged state during days or weeks (depending on battery type and brand).

■ The cells of a LFP battery do not auto-balance at the end of the charge cycle. The cells in a battery are not 100% identical. Therefore, when cycled, some cells will be fully charged or discharged earlier than others. The differences will increase if the cells are not balanced/equalized from time to time. The differences between cells may become some so extreme over time that, even though the overall battery voltage is within limits, some cells will be destroyed due to over- or under-voltage. A LFP battery therefore must be protected by a BMS that actively balances the individual cells and prevents underand over-voltage. A 12V BMS that protects the alternator (and wiring), and supplies up to 200A in any DC load (including inverters and inverter/chargers) Alternator/battery charger input (Power Port AB) ■ The first function of Power Port AB is to prevent the load connected to the LFP battery from discharging the starter battery. This function is similar to that of a Cyrix battery combiner or Argo FET battery isolator. Current can flow to the LFP battery only if the input voltage (= voltage on the starter battery) exceeds 13V. ■ Current cannot flow back from the LFP battery to the starter battery, thus preventing eventual damage to the LFP battery due to excessive discharge. ■ Excessive input voltage and transients are regulated down to a safe level. ■ Charge current is reduced to a safe level in case of cell unbalance or over temperature. ■ The input current is electronically limited to approximately 80% of the AB fuse rating. A 50A fuse, for example, will therefore limit the input current to 40A. Choosing the right fuse will therefore: a. Protect the LFP battery against excessive charge current (important in case of a low capacity LFP battery). b. Protect the alternator against overload in case of a high capacity LFP battery bank (most 12V alternators will overheat and fail if running at maximum output during more than 15 minutes). c. Limit charge current in order not to exceed the current handling capability of the wiring. The maximum fuse rating is 100A (limiting charge current to approximately 80A). Load/battery charger output/input (Power Port LB) ■ Maximum current in both directions: 200A continuous. ■ Peak discharge current electronically limited to 400A. ■ Battery discharge cutoff whenever the weakest cell falls below 3V. ■ Charge current is reduced to a safe level in case of cell unbalance or over temperature.

BATTERY BALANCER The Battery Balancer equalizes the state of charge of two series connected 12 V batteries, or of several parallel strings of series connected batteries. When the charge voltage of a 24 V battery system increases to more than 27 V, the Battery Balancer will turn on and compare the voltage over the two series connected batteries. The Battery Balancer will draw a current of up to 1 A from the battery (or parallel connected batteries) with the highest voltage. The resulting charge current differential will ensure that all batteries will converge to the same state of charge. If needed, several balancers can be paralleled.
