Toorak College Heritage with bay views Toorak College was first established in 1874 as a boys’ school in Toorak and in 1897 the school was converted into an all girls’ school. Co-Principals Miss Isabel Hamilton and Miss Robina Hamilton decided to relocate Toorak College to the countryside, however after negotiations with the new site fell through, their plans were abandoned and the school was set to close. It didn’t take long for a passionate group of parents, students and the old girls, to begin an appeal to save the school. Thankfully their efforts paid off and Toorak College Mt Eliza was established. Toorak College is an independent school located on the stunning Mornington P­eninsula in Mt Eliza. Wardle House is open to boys and girls ELC - Year 4, while our Middle and Senior Years are thriving girls only environments with boar­ding facilities. We are located approximately 40km south of Melbourne, Victoria. This location provides for breathtaking bay views from the school grounds, with easy walking distance to the beach and Mt Eliza village, access to our school’s outstanding facilities, including the heritage listed Hamilton building.

We offer you and your guests the choice of some of the Peninsula’s most outstanding and enchanted facilities in an amazing location. With the character and charm of heritage buildings dating back to the early 1900’s coupled with manicured gardens and ocean views, the photo opportunities are endless. Our wedding packages are tailored to suit your needs, whether your ideal wedding is a large formal affair, or if you would prefer a small casual gathering, Toorak College can work with you to create the day of your dreams. Toorak Caterers will provide you with a variety of catering packages to choose from and will work with you to customize your own menu to ensure that all of your special requirements will be covered. Christening Packages Precious moments Toorak College can accommodate for all your Christening requirements with our onsite Chapel and reception facilities. This beautiful venue offers a peaceful and tranquil ambience and is the ideal location to bring family and friends together to celebrate the Christening of your child. Celebrate this special time with your loved ones and we will ensure that this special occassion is one to remember. Packages can include a ceremony held in the Chapel, floral arrangements, canapes, lunch / dinner (casual or formal options available), photography of the event and a Master of Ceremony is available on request. Our indoor venues are great for cocktail parties, lunches and dinners, while our outdoor grounds make a picturesque setting for expos, markets and exhibitions. Make use of the Dining Room, Drawing (Board)Room or Pavilion Cafe for a social gathering, whether it be a sit down meal or a cocktail party. Performance Spaces State of the art If you are looking for a venue for your next concert or performance, Toorak College can offer a variety of choices of performance spaces. Utilise our state of the art Music Centre, with its indoor / outdoor spaces and modern atmosphere. MacLean Hall offers elevated staging and polished floors and is perfect for an intimate audience of up to 150 people. Mary Herring Hall is a larger venue with an elevated stage, auditorium style tiered seating for up to 600 people, with lighting and sound facilities. The Cloisters is a spectacular outdoor space which provides a special atmosphere for a performance for audiences of up to 250 people. These locations make exciting venues for solo recitals, musical performances, dance recitals and theatre performances. Camps Great for team building Toorak College’s boarding house, Joan Ansett Hall, is available for hire during school holidays. It is perfect for groups wanting to organise a gathering over many days. Full catering services are available, plus individual or shared rooms. Our sporting facilities, including swimming pool, diving board, basketball court, squash courts, tennis courts and our barbeque facilities can also be made available for group activities and team building if required. Bardon House Lecture Theatre

Drama Studio (D4)

This purpose built Drama facility was designed specifically for small in-house drama / dance productions. • Make-up room at the rear of the building and rehearsal room adjacent to the make-up room • Control room providing audio and lighting situated on the second level • Capacity: can accomomodate portable tiered seating for up to 300 people • Heating is available • Cost: $60 per hour including GST (2 hour minimum)

Three outdoor tennis courts are available for hire to the public • Secure parking available • Cost: $350 including GST per season or $15 per hour including GST

The squash courts are located in the Marjorie Williams Centre • 2 courts are available for hire to the public • Toughened glass back wall for observing games • Cost: $15 per hour including GST per court

Playing Fields

Outdoor Basketball Court

The upper and lower playing fields are located between the Senior School and Wardle House. • Upper playing field available with soccer nets • Lower playing field available with goal posts • Cost: $35 per hour including GST per court

Venue Hire Gymnasium

This indoor facility provides opportunities for sports including basketball, netball, tennis, volleyball, etc. • Can be divided into 2 separate training areas • Exhibition facility for associations requiring a large display area • Substantial foyer and hallway can be used for displays • Kitchenette available providing refrigeration, cooking facilities, storage and counter space. • Cost: $40 per hour including GST or $300 full day including GST

Procedure Booking Process All booking requests must be made to the Community Office via [email protected]. The Community Office will confirm availability and a tentative booking will be placed in the School calendar. The Community Office will provide the Hirer with the Facilities Booking Form and the Terms and Conditions of Hire form which must be completed and returned to the Community Office along with Public Liability papers. If you require catering for your event please contact Toorak Caterers on 03 9788 7268 or visit us at www.toorakcaterers.com.au. Booking Forms must state any special requirements, including set up, catering, AV equipment, and security required. Please note the hire rate is for use of the facilities on an as is basis and additional charges apply for the following: setup/packdown: $45 per hour (2 hour minimum) including gst hire of audio visual/sound equipment: $150 including gst audio visual/sound technician: $55 per hour (2 hour minimum) including gst hire of piano: $100 including gst hire of additional staging: $250 including gst

Conditions 1. Your booking will not be confirmed until return of the signed Booking Form, signed Terms & Conditions of Hire, copy of a current public liability insurance policy and payment of deposit. You will receive a confirmation letter once your booking has been received and processed. 2. If using Toorak Caterers, final numbers must be confirmed seven days prior to the booking. Special dietary requirements also require seven working days’ notice. 3. The Hirer will take out a public liability insurance policy with a reputable insurer for the period of hire which indemnifies Toorak College for $10 million for any one claim and for all claims whatsoever including injury to persons or property arising from the use of the Toorak College premises or facility by the Hirer. 4. The Hirer hereby indemnifies and will keep indemnified Toorak College against all liability, claim demand actions, suits damages costs and expenses whatsoever (including bodily injury and damage to property) for which it or they may be or become liable directly or indirectly arising out of the use of the Toorak College premises or the facility by the Hirer and for such other amounts either in excess of those contained in any relevant insurance policy or not payable under such policy. 5. Toorak College does not accept any responsibility for any loss or damage to the Hirer’s property left prior to, during or after an event. Goods left after an event without prior arrangement will be deemed abandoned. 6. If the venue booked cannot be made available, Toorak College reserves the right to substitute an alternative venue. 7. It is the Hirer’s responsibility to familiarise themselves with the emergency evacuation procedures and to draw these to the attention of their attendees. 8. All food and liquor must be supplied by Toorak Caterers unless specific arrangements have been agreed upon. 9. The Hirer shall at their own expense apply for and obtain any permit required from any authority for the proposed use of the facility. 10. The Hirer is to use only the part of the buildings and grounds and other facilities specified in the Agreement and the entrances and exits thereto. 11. The Hirer shall observe arrangements regarding opening and closing of gates, doors, etc. and other security systems within Toorak College. 12. The Hirer is responsible for overseeing security of the function and the hire costs of security staff. 13. If the Hirer defaults in observing any of the terms or conditions of this Agreement, Toorak College may forthwith by written notice to the Hirer terminate the Hirer’s rights under this Agreement which shall then forthwith cease save as to the rights of Toorak College in respect of any antecedent break by the Hirer. 14. The Hirer shall observe the following additional conditions: a) The Hirer is to ensure that any furniture and equipment moved during the use of the premises is replaced and that the premises is left in a clean and tidy condition and that proper care is taken of the premises during use and any damage from such use whether causes by negligence, recklessness or the wilfulness of the Hirer or their servants, agents or invitees, is made good at the Hirer’s own cost. b) The Hirer shall provide suitable qualified staff to supervise activities on any part of the Toorak College premises. c) Parking or driving on grassed areas is prohibited. d) Toorak College reserves the right to exclude functions which they feel are inappropriate for the venue. e) A discretionary bond may be set depending on the nature of the function. f) Any damage to property is the responsibility of the Hirer. g) Smoking is not permitted anywhere on Toorak College premises during School hours. Catered events allow smoking ouside in designated areas with use of bins. h) Dogs are not permitted anywhere on Toorak College premises i) Toorak College retains the right to cancel any arrangements for the use of facilities at any time and to apply the bond to any costs incurred as a result of any break whatsoever. Toorak College further retains the right to seek legal recover of any costs incurred as a result of any break in these regulations. j) No items are to be pinned, glued or attached to any wall except by the use of Blu-Tack or similar. 15.
