Overdue Repair Fund . . . Please notice some of the very visible lighting updates, the Emergency Lighting System back up and working properly, floor tile replacements and exterior door kick-plates that have been completed as part of the Overdue Repair Fund initiative. A separate Overdue Repair Fund has been set up to help defray the cost these (and other) repairs that will exceed what we had planned in our normal Budget line item for routine maintenance. There will continue to be special Overdue Repair Fund offering envelopes in the Narthex Sunday mornings in Lent and Easter in hopes that this special Fund will allow many of the deferred maintenance items to be accomplished. Gifts so far are roughly 2/3 of where we need to be to fully fund this necessary work – so please continue to be generous as we work to be good stewards of the property entrusted to our care. Special thanks to Greg Urffer for all his hard work to help get Emmanuel Church buildings back up to acceptable standards.

Thank you, in advance, for your understanding and support!

Know Your Vestry Sue Goushian

Greetings!! My name is Sue Goushian. I am married to Berj Goushian and am enjoying my retirement after spending years as a Social Studies teacher and Department Head in the School District of Philadelphia. I am a life long Episcopalian, attending St. Paul’s Church, Aramingo (now Holy Innocents St.Paul’s Church, Tacony). Five years ago I began to attend Emmanuel Church, Quakertown and had my membership letter transferred to this parish. Since joining Emmanuel Church, I have served as chair of the Basket Bonanza and the Committee on the Revision of our Bylaws. I currently serve as Lector and Chalice Bearer and as a member the Vestry, holding the position of Vestry Secretary (Secretary of the Corporation). Before coming to Emmanuel, I participated in a number of church activities including Sunday School, Choir, Worship Committee, and Personnel Committee. I have twice served as chair of the Discernment Committee. I have been elected to Vestry numerous times, serving as Secretary, Accounting Warden, and Rector’s Warden. It is my desire that our parish provide spiritual nourishment in an environment which shares and honors our traditions while embracing change and enables us to integrate our worship with our lives as we fully participate in our parish, community, and the church universal.
