ONLINE RENEWALS – preferred !! This season we are encouraging all existing members to complete their membership registration. If you have previously renewed online, your log in details will remain the same. If not, it is easy to create your username and password. You will need to make sure your details that you are entering are the same as what SLSWA has (especially email addresses and DOB). If you are having any issues with this process, please contact Ainslie on [email protected]

Family memberships –The new family group feature will mean that 1 person (the primary member, we suggest that the primary member is the parent or guardian who is over 18) from each family will be able to login to their Portal account and renew/update details for all members of the family group. Family group requests will be ‘pending’ until Club administrators approve the request. Once your family group is approved, parents/guardians will be able to renew all members of the family group using their login. To complete your membership online (have your credit card handy prior to logging), see the steps below: 1. Go to portal.sls.com.au 2. If you created an account last season, click the ‘log in’ 3. If you haven’t yet registered, click the ’create account’ – please record your password for next season 4. Select ‘Lifesaving Online’ tab, then ‘Membership’ - you can create a “family group in this area (as above) 5. Go to ‘Renew’ 6. Check that ALL your personal details are CORRECT, tick the relevant boxes and follow the steps to renew. 7. Transaction Type = membership fee. JUNIORS & SENIORS Hi to all U/14 + Mal Paddlers, with season fast approaching if you are interested in commencing board training in October please reply email to [email protected] Please include details of days/times( ie 6am/4.00pm etc) and October school holiday period if you are available so we can gauge interest. I do understand that some may have commitments on specific days..swim club etc. So let us know. Due to my shift work, days may vary week to week if we get some training organised. I am proposing training twice a week and we may possibly alternate between Middleton Beach and Inner Harbour as training venues. cheers Dean

Strategic Planning Albany Surf Club welcomes ALL MEMBERS to attend a Strategic Planning Workshop at the club on Thursday 15 th September 5.30pm for a 6pm start. The ASLSC is fully committed to providing the best opportunities and experience for those that want to be involved in surf lifesaving in Albany. As part of ensuring a sustainable and focused future that will take us from strength to strength, we have decided to engage an external consultant to assist us in the development of a strategic plan. The consultant, Ian Crawford, has over 30 years experience working in the sporting industry both in Australia and internationally. This plan will: - provide a transparent direction for the whole club to follow. - allow us to be significantly better at managing our time and resources. - increase our chances obtaining grants and sponsorship. - set us apart from other similar organisations. - establish a framework of sustainability. We encourage all those that are interested in ensuring the success of our club to come along and provide their view on our future direction. Ian will be delivering a highly interactive and engaging session that will last NO LONGER than 2.5 hours.

Winter Swimming @ ALAC

Tuesday nights from 6-7pm.

Ending Tuesday October 25th. This is an Adults only training program and will be between the hours of 6 and 7pm on Tuesday nights. Strong swimmers 14 year old plus will able to swim on approval.

the course of normal Surf Club activities your child’s or your photo could be taken. Sometimes these images may be used for public viewing such as newspaper articles, website, FACEBOOK , newsletters and Surf Club publications. If you do not want your or your child’s image used for any purpose outside Surf Club please inform the Surf Club in writing to [email protected] Please be advised that given the amount of pictures taken during a Surf Club season it is not always possible to identify all the children. Alternatively if you have taken photos through the season that are suitable please send to the above email for inclusion and or archiving. (name & date images.) Any articles for the newsletter must be emailed to [email protected] or [email protected] by Wednesday 2pm all articles and advertising must comply with SLSWA policy and are subject to approval.
