Project background and description : - Based SITRAMP II study of 2004 : - Traffic in Jakarta will be gridlocked by 2020 if it is not carried out repairs on the transport system; - Losses IDR 65 trillion / year , consisting of Rp 28.1 trillion for the extra vehicle operating costs and Rp 36.9 trillion for a period longer travel; - 80 % of air pollution comes from motor vehicles. Based on these studies, it is necessary to the construction and development of rail-based mass transportation lines.
