2016 GEO
The sixth annual GEO will race through the area of southern Illinois known as “Little Egypt”. Saturday will see the GEO kick off at the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds with a new time trial and circuit race. The morning session will feature a time trial in the Du Quoin area starting at 8am and followed immediately by the circuit race. Then on Sunday we will return to the fairgrounds for the GEO Criterium. Omnium points will be awarded to the top 10 riders in each stage (15,12,10,7,6,5,4,3,2,1). Omnium points (3,2,1) will also be awarded to the first 3 riders to cross the finish line on each intermediate lap during the road race and on an equal number of sprint primes during the criterium. In the case of a tie, the rider with the most first place finishes, or if still tied, the most second place finishes, will win. If riders are still tied the rider with the highest placing in the last race will win. Riders must compete in all 3 events to be eligible for Omnium points payout. Online registration at www.usacycling.org is limited until midnight July 28, 2016. **********First Time Racers********* First time racers should participate in the Category 5 or Women’s Category 4 Races and will be required to purchase a one-‐day USA Cycling License ($10) for each day of participation or an annual license ($70) that is good through the end of 2016. Juniors may purchase an annual license for $35 or daily for $10.
Riders may pre-‐register online or late registration will open one hour prior to the race start and remain open until 30 minutes prior to the start of each race. A late fee of $5 per day will be added to all on site registrations. Riders competing in more than one race per stage will receive a discount of $10 off of each additional race.
2016 GEO Time Trial The time trial is an 8 mile loop around the fairgrounds and consist of flat roads with only 140 feet of elevation. Riders will be grouped with their category and will be started in one minute intervals. First rider off at 8am. The fairgrounds are located at 655 Executive Drive, DuQuoin, Illinois, 62832. Time Trial is limited to the first 120 riders, early registration is encouraged. Category

2016 GEO Circuit Race We are pleased to offer a new race format – a circuit race through the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds. The course is 3.27 miles with an elevation gain of 68 feet. The fairgrounds are located at 655 Executive Drive, Du Quoin, Illinois 62832. Start

Omnium points will be awarded to the first 3 riders to cross the line on the intermediate laps. Juniors and Masters will have combined fields that start at the same time but will be scored seperately for each age group. New this year Masters 40+ and 50+ riders will be competing for separate purses.
2016 GEO Criterium The GEO returns on Sunday to the fairgrounds for the Criterium stage. This course will be technical in nature and feature a flat landscape. Start
