The information in this guide is written in English and Spanish, and is a collaborative effort of the Cherokee County Board of Commissioners and the Chairman’s Diversity Task Force, a group of volunteer community leaders. The agencies listed herein are governmental, social and faith-based, and the descriptions are a general summary of services. GOVERNMENT GOBIERNO Cherokee County government consists of a County Board of Commissioners, representing the four (4) posts in which the county is divided and one county commission chair. There are five (5) cities within the county with their own municipal governing bodies: Ball Ground, Canton (County Seat), Holly Springs, Nelson, Waleska and Woodstock.
