Saint Theresa’s Feast becomes even more relevant for our parish. It is an established tradition in our parish to celebrate our patroness feast with an annual fall festival, which is very well organized and attended. This year we are trying to make our patroness feast even more relevant in our parish. To accomplish this, we will have two masses on October 1st to allow room for everybody to come and celebrate at mass and honor Saint Theresa. Giving thanks to Saint Theresa for her intercessions and asking her to continue interceding for us in front of God for the many blessings we need. We also will have our first ever “Community wide mass” where we bring everyone from our parish together to celebrate at one mass to be held on Sunday, October 3rd at 10 a.m. I invite all of you to come and participate in these masses which will bring many graces upon our parish family. And who can resist a day full of fabulous food, fun, music and games? You will find that and much more at the annual St. Theresa Fall Festival! The time has come once again to enjoy this wonderful celebration which also honors our patron saint and provides a unique opportunity for our parish family to come together as one, to celebrate with one another in fellowship and prayer, and helps us to build and strengthen our parish community. I would like to take this time to invite all of you to participate in this most joyous occasion. This year there will be plenty of excitement! The Festival has something for everybody, whether you are a music lover or someone who likes to try different foods from around the world, you will find something here that entices you. I am pleased to share the news that this year we will once again host this event on our church property! Many of you have worked very hard to ensure that this is possible and to you I give my heartfelt thanks. So mark your calendars and save the dates! This year we will celebrate the feast of our patroness beginning Friday, October 1st with 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM Mass followed by the Fall Festival held on Saturday, Oct 2nd, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on our church grounds and ending on Sunday, October 3rd with our Community Wide Mass at 10:00 a.m. to be held at 981 North Burnt Hickory Road in Douglasville across from the Grey Stone Power Corporation. I encourage all of you to take the time to come out and enjoy all of the festivities!

PENSAMIENTOS Y MEDITACIONES

La Fiesta de Santa Teresita llega a ser aún más relevante para nuestra parroquia. Ya es una tradición establecida en la parroquia el celebrar la fiesta de nuestra patrona con el Festival Anual de Otoño, el cual está muy bien organizado y atendido. Este año estamos tratando de hacer la fiesta de nuestra patrona aún más relevante en la parroquia. Para este fin, vamos a tener dos Misas el primero de Octubre para poder acomodar a todos los que vengan a celebrar la Misa y darle honor a Santa Teresita. Le daremos gracias a Santa Teresita por sus intercesiones y le pediremos que continúe intercediendo por nosotros ante Dios por las muchas bendiciones que necesitamos. También tendremos nuestra primera "Misa Comunitaria" donde reuniremos a todos los feligreses de nuestra parroquia para celebrar juntos en una gran Misa que se celebrará el Domingo 3 de Octubre, a las 10:00 de la mañana. Los invito a todos a venir y participar en estas misas que traerán muchas bendiciones a nuestra familia parroquial. ¿Y quién puede resistir un día lleno de comida fabulosa, de diversión, de música y de juegos? ¡Encontrará eso y mucho más en el Festival Anual de Otoño de Santa Teresita! Ha llegado el momento, una vez más para disfrutar de esta celebración maravillosa, que también rinde homenaje a nuestra santa patrona y nos ofrece una oportunidad especial para que la familia parroquial se reúna a celebrar juntos el uno con el otro en la hermandad y la oración, al igual que nos ayuda a construir y a fortalecer la comunidad parroquial. ¡Este año habrá mucho entusiasmo! SPORTS TICKER Our parish men put forth a determined effort to knock off the league defending champion but fell to Our Lady of Lourdes, 52-36 in basketball action last weekend. We were down 22-21 at halftime and the game was close until the final minutes as we played with ‘upset’ on our minds. Lee Spoor led our parish with 10 points but our balanced attack just could not catch the champions at the end. Plan to travel to Our lady of Mercy this Sunday and cheer on your fellow parishioners as we take on St. Mary Magdalene at 2 p.m.

CHILDREN’S CHOIR If you have a child in the 4th, 5th or 6th grade please take note - the children’s choir has resumed rehearsals from 6:15 pm to 6:55 pm every Wednesday. We pray you will encourage your child to participate! The children’s choir sings once a month at the 10:00 am mass and is open to children in the 4th to 6th grades We would also encourage any adults that may be interested in playing or singing with our choirs to come forth and join this important ministry. TELETIPO DEPORTIVO El fin de semana pasado los hombres de nuestra parroquia hicieron un gran esfuerzo para derrotar a los campeones de la liga de baloncesto pero fueron derrotados por Nuestra Señora de Lourdes 52-36. October is the month of the Holy Rosary. Octubre es el mes del Santo Rosario. La práctica de The practice of reciting the Rosary is a wonderful tradition of our faith. It is a style of prayer that should remind us Catholics that there are many ways to pray. The Rosary is really a mantra or a way of counting prayers in order to meditate on the mysteries of our faith. There are a great many variations on this prayer, but however it is prayed, the Rosary remains a marvelous way to reflect on the love of Jesus expressed in the mysteries that are the focus of this prayer. The Rosary is a popular devotion developed over 400 years ago when Catholics were completely cut off any meaningful participation in the liturgy. Most ordinary people could not read and so the Rosary became a simple way to pray. In fact, the Rosary is sometimes called “the poor person’s breviary” (the psalms said by clerics and those who could read). When the Mass was in Latin, many people prayed the Rosary during Mass. The Mass is a different kind of prayer. It is liturgical prayer, a prayer that calls for the common participation of everyone through what is going on in ritual, in prayer, or in song. It is hard, if not impossible, to do both at the same time.

PRAYER FOR STEWARDSHIP RENEWAL ORACION PARA LA RENOVACION DE MAYORDOMIA Please be a Prayer Warrior and pray the prayer below daily for the success of our Stewardship Renewal Program. Make it your “Little Way” of helping our family at St. Theresa become spiritually stronger. ‘God our Loving Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we Your children in Douglasville, have entrusted our plans, hopes and prayers to You for twenty-five years through the intercessions of Saint Theresa of Lisieux. We praise You and thank You, heavenly Father, because we know that everything that we have is truly a gift from You. We humbly raise our hearts today asking You to continue blessing our parish family and all our endeavors to open our hearts and spread Your love. God, please dispel our fears and strengthen our faith. Be with us, Lord, as we work to create an environment that invites all people to gather at Your table united as one community. Grace our community with joy, as we move forward together, confident that You are guiding our journey. We especially ask You to bless our stewardship efforts and plans as we become more filled with a passion for humility, peace, and love as we serve as the hands and feet of Jesus. Listen to these prayers we present to You through the intercessions of our Blessed Mother and St. Therese of Lisieux our patroness. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen’

‘Dios, amadísimo Padre, Hijo y Espíritu Santo, nosotros Tus hijos en Douglasville, hemos confiado nuestros planes, esperanzas y oraciones a Ti por veinticinco años a través de las intercesiones de Santa Teresita de Lisieux. Nosotros te Alabamos y te damos gracias, Padre Celestial, porque sabemos que todo lo que tenemos es realmente un regalo que Tu nos has dado. Humildemente levantamos nuestros corazones en el día de hoy para pedirte que continúes bendiciendo nuestra familia parroquial y todos nuestros esfuerzos mientras tratamos de abrir nuestros corazones y dar a conocer Tu amor. Dios, por favor disipa nuestros temores y fortalece nuestra fe. Quédate con nosotros, Señor, ya que trabajamos para crear un ambiente que invite a toda la gente a reunirse en Tu mesa unidos como una comunidad.
