General

Better teamwork and the development of a trustworthy and cooperative atmosphere – these are the goals of the new outdoor team training module at the Olympic Park in Munich. There is a clear purpose behind this: teamwork is more than the total work done by each individual in the team: with optimal group work, the members achieve a far greater performance than the total of the performance of each individual could possibly produce. Regardless of whether it is a team, department or some other organisational unit, wherever human beings cooperate with one another, trust and communication are important for the effectiveness and efficiency of the work done as a team, as well as for the motivation and satisfaction of the employees.

The outdoor team training module creates common experiences, which makes this dimension tangible and lively and is oriented towards all workgroups that would like to improve their level of teamwork and cooperation.

Learning goals

Some of the learning goals • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • •

Motivation by jointly achieving success Getting to better know the other team members Mutual support Problem-solving competence Planning the common approach and procedure Appraisal of one's own strengths and those of others for supporting the team in the accomplishment of the task Selection of a person suitable for the exercise Physical coordination Verbal communication Cooperation competence Coordination of joint dealings Capability of getting others to interact and participate Trust within the team Trusting the capabilities of the other team members Feeling of security within the team Creativity Provide assistance and accept help

Exercices

Loop games Ingenuity, coordination, communication and mutual support are the features of the most diverse loop exercises, with which you can climb up with them, pass them on to others and much more.

Exercices

Olympic flame The common task of the team while transporting the Olympic flame consists of transporting the flame (ball) on a ring that is held by each member of the team with the help of a cord fixed to it. Since some team members are blindfolded, they are dependent on the clear and specific instructions of those who can "see". It is only when all team members communicate and cooperate well that the flame can be transported to the destination without dying out

Exercices

Fold / Flip the tarp One group stands on a carpet and has to flip it over (top side at the bottom), without leaving the carpet and without touching the ground. In an advanced version, the carpet is first folded without the players touching the ground and, finally, the carpet is flipped over.

Exercices

Crossing the river The players have the task of crossing the lively river and the only aids are some magic stones. The stones, however, carry the players only if they are in constant physical contact. As soon as physical contact is lost (the board is thrown or lies untouched in the river section), the stones are lost for good. The river, moreover, should not be touched other than with the stones. Otherwise there is the risk that the player will "sink" immediately.

Exercices

Magic wand The magic wand is a very light, thin and long round rod that needs to be balanced by the players on their forefingers and then placed on the ground collectively.

Exercices

Acid pool The field of action for this outdoor module is an area cordoned off by a rope that represents the acid pool. A treasure is concealed on a small island in this pool marked by a large flat stone or a board. The group needs to cooperate to retrieve this treasure. In the process, no player should step in or touch the pool.
