Hells Bells – Indoor – The Medieval Quest Teambuilding Event Location:

Large Indoor venue required

Cost:

Event comes from the UK – price on application.

The Quest for the teams is to find out "At what hour, on what day, did Sir Richard the Very Brave rescue his fiancée, the lovely Lady Claire de Lune, from the clutches of the evil Duc de Coq Noir?"

The answer to the Quest

will be revealed if the group complete a series of sculptures and place them in the correct position. Twelve brightly coloured plywood 'mechanical' sculptures are positioned in the room, but of course, in their component parts. Teams are allocated a number of sculptures to construct from 'Haynes Manual' style drawings and other associated information. For every challenge within this indoor team building game, there is invariably more than one route to the solution. Logic, music, word-craft, mathematics, lateral thought, organisational skills, construction skills, general knowledge, research ability, genealogy (family tree), spatial awareness, mechanics, storytelling. The ending is spectacular and immensely satisfying for the participants.

14

Hells Bells Contd ….. Teams are also provided with information packs/books that contain a web of clues and riddles. The solutions lead the teams to the assembly and layout of the sculptures. The sculptures are completed and positioned and then a clock is completed in the last sculpture. This involves putting in pegs which should trigger off all the other sculptures and ultimately provide the answer to The Quest mentioned above. If the pegs are inserted correctly and if all the sculptures have been built properly, boules roll, there are various happenings in the different sculptures and then the clock chimes out the correct time. In the finale to the event after triggering all the sculptures, a costumed Duc de Coq Noir pulls the cord of a 'gunge tank' under which sits Sir Richard the Very Brave and the lovely Lady Claire de Lune. If the team are successful in their quest, the tank releases dowry (foiled chocolate). If the team are unsuccessful, the tank releases jelly!
