resources/equipment/materials and vocationally competent teachers as required. Details relating to co-requisite and pre-requisite requirements are listed in the validated Qualification Checklist. No Students participate in flexible on-line learning activities & participation for a minimum of 6 hours/week as part time study for approximately 1 year. A student who studies full-time can complete the qualification in approximately 3 to 6 months. Students can enrol in individual units and duration will be in line with the nominal hours of the unit. Training and assessment for this qualification will be offered through Devonport campus as online participation and/or other flexible learning opportunities. Enrolment will include rolling intake throughout the year for students undertaking the full qualification as well as those students undertaking individual units. The process is sufficiently flexible to allow for assessment to occur on campus or off campus. There are no licensing outcomes associated with this program.

Section 3.0 – Clients and Support The target group consists of Student/client a) Mature age people looking at upgrading or enhancing their business skills group(s) to gain employment b) Post year 12 students c) Those in the workplace looking to either gain recognition or develop business skills This qualification reflects the role of individuals who perform a range of mainly routine tasks using limited practical skills and fundamental operational knowledge in a defined context, working under direct supervision.

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification

Selection process

Preferred pathways for candidates considering this qualification include: BSB10112 Certificate I in Business or other relevant qualification/s OR with vocational experience assisting in a range of work settings without a formal business qualification. Students who have no previous computing experience will be referred to the Foundations Program as it is essential for students to have basic computing skills, including how to access and use the internet and email. All students undergo a suitability process prior to enrolment.

Recognition in the form of RPL and Credit Transfer is offered to students.

Training will be delivered via students accessing learning and assessment resources flexibly online off campus or through attending any TasTAFE campus. Assessment resources associated with this program including assessment plans and assessment packages are located on https://casas.tas.edu.au/vle/index.phtml or at: O:\PostYear10\Statewide\Business and ICT NW Shared\Certificate II in Business Flexible Assessment activities have been developed to meet the specific evidence requirements of each unit of competency as per the Training Package/Course details. TasTAFE utilise Assessment Packages that include the following components: assessment tasks, instruments, student and assessor instructions, evidence criteria, competency mapping, decision making rules and recording and reporting documents. As per the ASQA Direction, TasTAFE will retain all completed student assessment items/work for a period of six months from the date competence was achieved. All assessment resources associated with this program including assessment plans, assessment packages and validation schedules and records are located at

All trainers and assessors must meet the training and assessment and vocational requirements specified in both the Standards for NVR Registered Training Organisations (SNR) and the relevant Training Package/Accredited Course. TasTAFE trainer/assessor and competence policies and procedures are located on the TasTAFE Intranet. TasTAFE has documented procedures in place outlining the training and assessment and vocational competence requirements of teachers including requirements for those teachers delivering training under supervision and co-assessing. Competence is verified and documented as per the procedure and evidence of continued competence development and currency is monitored by Educational Team Leaders. Resources and equipment requirements

As part of TasTAFE’s program planning and development processes, teaching teams undertake a review of all required resources/equipment and facilities. This process ensures that required resources and equipment have been identified and will be available to deliver selected units. The resources and equipment identified for this program are listed in the Qualification/Course Resource and Equipment Checklist located at O:\PostYear10\Statewide\Business & ICT North West Shared\TAAS\2015\Business Students are advised prior to enrolment that to study online and off-campus they need access to a computer, an email address and the Internet. The Computer will need to have Microsoft Office installed. TasTAFE can provide a flexible learning environment with access to these resources at most regional campuses. As part of ongoing improvement activities and industry consultations, TasTAFE teaching teams consult with industry to ensure that resources/equipment and facilities utilised for programs meet current industry standards. Teams retain documented evidence of consultations.

Section 6.0 - Administration Stakeholder consultation strategy

This Training and Assessment Strategy has been developed in consultation with industry. Industry members consulted include: • Deb Spillane, MeadCon • Jackie McDougall, Devonport City Council • Daryl Connelly and Peter Murden, Cradle Coast Innovation Industry and other stakeholder consultations occur on an ongoing basis throughout the year. Evidence of industry consultations and resulting actions is documented. Ongoing consultations with stakeholders assist in evaluating the course and identifying opportunities for improvement.

This plan details the order that units or clusters of units are delivered, including details of the weeks/dates students will undertake assessments. Refer to the example below.

Flexibly delivery and study options will create different training plans for each student, based on individual requirements and timing of initial enrolment.
