Tablet Landing Page Configuration Guide There are a few items associated with this Tablet Landing Page Workspace download that need to be configured so that it will work in your own installation of Novell Vibe. This Table Landing Page Template workspace is designed for easy navigation while using a mobile device. The first thing you need to do is edit the permalinks for each workspace. There are a total of nine landing pages that belong to this import. You don't have to make custom permalinks but it does help to make the process of adding links to the images easier. 1.We will start with the Main landing page. Go to Workspace>Configure Views, URLs, and Controls...

2. A window will pop up with four tabs at the top. Select the Simple URLs and E-mail Addresses tab.

3. This is the area where you can create shorter URLs for your workspaces which help when

linking images for navigation. First, you'll want to remove the username from the URL. Do this by selecting the drop down box.

4. The next step is to create the simple URL. Since this is for the main page you will simply put the word 'main' into the text box and select Add. You now have a simple URL for your Main Landing Page.

5. Close this window and you should have a new URL for the landing page. In order to see if this action was completed successfully simply click on the Permalinks at the bottom of the landing page. You should see two URLs, one that is fairly long and another that is much shorter. The shorter URL is the custom URL that you created.

6. 4. Repeat steps 1-3 for the other eight sub-workspaces. This is your workspace now so don't feel confined with the names of the workspaces or what they contain. You can use whatever name you feel is applicable for your organization. 5. We will now add links to the images on our landing pages which will basically make them into buttons for your mobile users. Go to the workspace tab but this time you will select the Edit Workspace... option. This will take you to the landing page editor canvas. 1. Lets add the background to the landing page. There is a tiny pencil in the top-right corner of the editor that is for editing the landing page background. This is a new feature to Vibe 3.2. When you click the pencil a little dialogue box called Landing

Page Properties will appear.

2. Now you will notice that the background image says none. This import comes with a background image but feel free to use your own image if you want. By clicking the import button to the right of select box you can import any image that is saved on your computer. For simplicity we will select the Blank_bg_1280x800.png in this walk through. We can also repeat the image vertically and/or horizontally, but since this image is already 1280x800 we will leave the setting as Do not repeat. Also we can add a background color, in this case we will use gray. To save the changes, select, OK. You will not see your background in the editor canvas but it will be there when you finish editing the workspace. 3. Now you can move on to adding links to the images. These images are being held in an HTML landing page elememt. To edit this you click on the pencil that is between the crosshairs and the X. This will pop up the Vibe text editor, with our images in a table.

4. To add the link you need to highlight the image.

5. Once the image is highlighted you can add the link, by clicking on the link button on the toolbar.

6. This will give us a new dialog box to enter our URL for this image. This is where the the simple URLs that you created earlier will come in handy. Instead of copying the whole URL to paste into this dialog we can use a backslash and the name of the last part of the URL that we created in first steps. This is the URL we created in those first steps http://***.***.***.***/vibe/meetings, we will reference this URL in our link by entering /meeting. We also want to select Open link in the same window.

7. 8. Repeat steps 3-6 for the rest of the images for the landing page. 9. Now you can add the back links to the sub-workspaces and their folders. We will start with the Meetings workspace. We can first add the background image like we

did in step 1-2. We will now add the back link to the main landing page. This button is located in an HTML element just like before. We want to highlight the image and click the add a link button. This time we are going to link back to the main page so we will will put /main into the text box.

10. 11. Repeat this for all the sub-workspaces and their folders. The folders will link back to their appropriate sub-workspaces.
