SWEDISH SHORTS 2005 So far 2005 has been a great year for Swedish short films. Apart from ClermontFerrand, Berlin, Cannes, Annecy, Tampere and Rotterdam, some 50 international film festivals have included short live-action films, animations and documentaries from Sweden in their programmes. The Swedish short film production seems in deed to be alive and kicking! We hope that this catalogue of short films produced since our last catalogue in 2004, will give you some insight into what the Swedish Film Institute has to offer in the short format. We are certain that Swedish short films have something to offer festivals from all over the world specialising in (almost) all genres.

Visit the small town of Tärnaby in Lapland, Sweden, on a day when the temperature drops dramatically. For the people here, severe cold is just as common as anything else. A laid back and humorous film about a natural state that is nothing to get excited about.

An old man, sick with cancer, asks a young filmmaker to document his death. BEST WISHES, BERNHARD is a macabre portrait of a peculiar man who has an unsentimental relationship with dying.
