On-Campus vs. Off-Campus •

Advantages of On-Campus Housing •  Individual contracts/leases •  Convenience to classes, campus activities •  Furnished rooms/apartments •  Academic year option (Arroyo Vista) •  Cost – Value: Rent is competitive with local market •  Utilities, internet service, cable access included •  Live-in Resident Advisor and live-on professional staff

•  Off-Campus Housing Your son/daughter is not required to live on campus. If you think they might want to live off-campus next year, the Anteater Housing Network (online housing search engine) is a good place to begin your search. There are many options within walking distance.

Anteater Housing Network

What Can You Do? •  Research the options—all info/links available via housing.uci.edu •  Talk to your son or daughter about their options •  Remind them to check (and read!) their UCI email from Housing •  Review costs and contract terms •  Make sure your son/daughter knows when to apply: 7 a.m., Tuesday, November 13 – 12:00 noon, Monday, November 19, 2012 •  Keep communicating throughout the process •  Missed deadlines result in loss of the housing guarantee
