Families who already have three children attending Catholic Systemic Schools will not be charged school tuition fees at Parochial Primary or Regional Schools for their fourth and subsequent children. The Archdiocesan Tuition Fees will continue to provide student accident insurance cover through Catholic Church Insurances Limited. This 24 hour cover is for school activities during school hours and other approved school activities outside school hours such as school camps, school sports, work placement, and travelling to and from school.

LEVIES - 2014 Maintenance Levy The Maintenance Levy goes towards the cost of maintaining building, grounds & equipment: $56.00 per student for each of Terms 1, 2 and 3. Parents and Friends’ Association Levy The Parents & Friends’ Association Levy goes towards the upgrading of resources and facilities: $25.00 per family for each of Terms 1, 2 and 3. Building Fund Levy This is necessary to cover the School’s required servicing of Loan Repayments for the new building and to provide upgrading of existing building facilities. The Building Fund Levy will be $506.00 per annum and will be billed over Terms 1, 2 and 3. Families with children attending more than one Parish Primary or Regional School in the Archdiocese of Sydney, will be billed on a pro rata basis.

ICT Levy The ICT Levy covers such costs as: ICT charges to schools for broadband access, licence fees, data charges and antivirus management; partial cost recovery to CEO for ICT primary technicians, battery replacements, insurance costs, computer purchases, internet costs, etc.

OTHER FEES – 2014 Student Administration Fee A fee of $188.00 per student per year is payable by Thursday 30th January 2014. This covers a variety of items including such things as:  Official School Planner  Recycle Bag  College Magazine  Entrance Fee and Bus Fares to selected College events  Library Fee  Administrative and Printing costs  General Equipment  Cost of Printing reports and Official Certificates  NSW Combined Catholic Colleges (CCC) Sports Association fee ($2.35 per student Yrs 7-12) Subject Resources Fees This fee covers a variety of items such as the printing of class notes and examinations, stationery materials, and consumables, English, Maths and Science Competitions, Art Resources and Wood for Technology for Years 7 & 8. The amount of the subject resource fee is calculated according to the particular subjects each student is studying. Subject resource fees for core subjects for the year 2014 are payable by Thursday 30th January 2014. Subject resource fees for elective subjects for the year 2014 are charged in Term 2. Excursions The amount for excursions will be calculated according to the relevant subjects studied by each student and will be billed on Term 2 and 3 fees accounts. Please note, however, that the balance of the Year 11 Retreat Fee and the Year 12 Retreat Fee will be billed in Term 1 and are payable by Thursday 30th January 2014. Sports Fees - Years 8 - 10 Years 8 - 10 students will continue to have a compulsory Sports afternoon every fortnight in 2014. Each term, students will pay for a programme of Sport at either an external location or on the school premises. The Sport Fee will be $120.00 per annum and will be billed over Terms 1, 2 & 3. This is an essential part of the school curriculum. Those who do not pay will be required to perform alternative duties on sports afternoons.

PAYMENT OF FEES Term 1 Accounts Term 1 accounts will be mailed/emailed to parents from Tuesday 21st January 2014. Fees payable by 30th January 2014 are the Student Administration Fee, Subject Resource Fee, the balance of the Year 11 Retreat and the Year 12 Retreat as detailed on page 7. Balance of fees payable by Friday 14th February 2014 are the Term 1 tuition fees and Term 1 levies. Term 2 fees are payable by Friday 16th May 2014 and Term 3 fees are payable by Friday 1st August 2014. The College office will be open from 9.00am to 3.00pm from Thursday 23rd January 2014 to receive these payments. The office will be closed on Monday 27th January, Australia Day holiday. Catholic Education Foundation – applications for support from the Catholic Education Foundation will be available to Catholic families who are seeking to enrol their child in Year 7 and who are in genuine need of financial help. The bursary criteria will be consistent with the CEO Sydney’s enrolment policy. Fee Relief is available for those families experiencing financial difficulties. A Confidential School Fee Reduction Application Form must be filled in each year. Please attach all relevant income and expenditure documents and return to, Mrs Sue Ryan (Bursar). If eligible, a discount will apply to the School Tuition Fees. Youth Allowance Centrelink administers the Youth Allowance scheme which provides financial assistance to fulltime students who are aged 16 or over. You may wish to contact your nearest Centrelink office or visit the Centrelink office at 138 Maroubra Road, Maroubra. To check eligibility requirements call 132 490. For information in Languages Other Than English ring 131 202. How to pay for School Fees: BPAY - please refer to the BPAY section on the top right hand corner of your School Fee Statement. DIRECT DEBIT can be arranged through your bank account. Our BSB Number is 062-784 and our Account Number is 8343100. CASH AND CHEQUE payments can be paid in person at the College Office Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 4.00pm. EFTPOS facilities are available at the College for payment. Credit card payments (Visa and Mastercard only) can be made over the phone during Office Hours. A Credit Card Deduction Authority is available for regular fortnightly or monthly instalments from your credit card. Please ask at the College Office for a Deduction Authority. Centrepay is an easy way to stay in control of your finances. Centrepay is a free direct bill paying service offered to customers receiving Centrelink payments. The Subject Resource Fee includes Art Resources and Wood for Technology for Years 7 and 8. OLSH COLLEGE JUNIOR UNIFORM COMPULSORY FOR YEARS 7, 8, 9 & 10 2014 The stockists of the OLSH College Uniform are: Wylies - 629 Anzac Parade, Maroubra Junction (9344-5777) Berelle – Shop 6, 108 Maroubra Road, Maroubra (9349-2705) Regulation College Backpack, navy blue with College Crest. College backpacks will be available from Wylies and Berelle Padlock for locker - medium size, keyed padlock NOT combination lock. Not flimsy or extra heavy duty. Lockers can not be assigned to students without a padlock. SUMMER UNIFORM - COMPULSORY ITEMS Navy/dark green checked tunic, length to top of knee. Dark navy ankle socks. Black leather lace-up school shoes. Regulation OLSH cap with crest - to be worn at school during recess and lunch breaks and for outdoor activities. SPORT - Dark navy shorts, with ‘OLSH’ wording. Gold polo T-shirt with embroidered crest. White sports shoes, white sports socks. Only to be worn to school on the day of the cycle when the year group has sport. YEAR 7 & 8 TECHNOLOGY – White Apron YEAR 9 FOOD TECHNOLOGY – White Apron Optional Items - for Summer Regulation dark navy dress shorts, worn with off-white short sleeved blouse (Senior Blouse). If the optional shorts are purchased and worn in summer, the student must still also have a summer tunic for formal occasions, such as College liturgies, some excursions, debating and other representative activities. Shorts must be knee length. WINTER UNIFORM - COMPULSORY ITEMS Navy/dark green plaid tunic, length to top of knee. Off-white long sleeved blouse. Students in Year 7 are to purchase the new college blouse. Dark navy 30 denier pantyhose. Black leather lace-up shoes. Plain dark navy woollen jumper, jumper may not be worn to and from school without blazer. Navy blazer with crest. SPORT - Regulation dark navy and gold College tracksuit - compulsory for Years 7 10. May be worn to and from school, only when Years 7 - 10 Sport occurs. Regulation College Cap with crest. Optional Items - for Winter Regulation dark navy dress slacks, worn with blouse, jumper and blazer. If the optional dress slacks are purchased and worn in Winter, the student must also have the Winter tunic and wear it on formal occasions. 8

OLSH COLLEGE - SENIOR UNIFORM COMPULSORY Regulation navy and dark green plaid skirt, calf length. Regulation off-white short sleeved blouse for Summer, long sleeved for Winter. Plain dark navy woollen jumper – may not be worn without blazer to and from school. Regulation dark navy College blazer with crest. Dark navy ankle socks in summer, dark navy 30 denier pantyhose in winter. Black leather lace-up school shoes. Regulation College Cap, with crest must be worn during outside breaks and for all outdoor activities. A plain dark navy cotton jumper is available for purchase at Wylies, Maroubra for students allergic to wool. This is the only alternative to the College jumper. In winter a plain dark navy scarf and plain dark navy gloves may be worn. A plain dark navy overcoat may be worn over the College jumper and blazer. Such a plain overcoat is not an alternative to the blazer. EVERY student must own and wear a blazer.

COLLEGE TRACKSUIT Students playing representative sport will be expected to purchase and wear the College tracksuit. Years 11 and 12 wear the tracksuit for sporting events. Sports Shoes: White Sports shoes should be athletic with proper grip on soles for athletic activity. Optional - for Seniors Regulation dark navy dress shorts for Summer, regulation dress slacks for Winter. If either of these optional items are purchased and worn, the student must still have and wear on formal occasions the plaid skirt.

UNIFORM EXPECTATIONS – FOR ALL STUDENTS COLLEGE CAP All students in all years must purchase and wear the new College cap. The cap must be worn whenever the student is out in the sun, at recess and lunch time, for practical PD/H/PE lessons, and for any outdoor activities. Students will be encouraged, but not strictly required to wear the cap to and from school. NOTE FOR ALL STUDENTS: All items of uniform must be clearly and permanently labelled with the student’s name. Students may wear sunglasses. Jewellery: Only the following jewellery may be worn: One pair of small plain gold or silver studs or sleepers, worn one in each ear, in the lowest hole in each ear lobe (sleepers should not be worn during sport).One wrist watch. One chain with a religious medallion, with the chain long enough that it is not visible above the blouse or tunic. Hair Colouring: Only colours that are natural to the particular student can be used. Nail Polish: Should not be worn to school.

Tattoos: Are not permitted if they can be seen whilst wearing the school uniform.

STUDENT TRANSPORT SCHEME PUPILS WHO ARE ELIGIBLE FOR FREE TRAVEL IN 2014 ON PUBLIC TRANSPORT AND PRIVATELY OPERATED BUSES ARE TO ONLY USE THEIR BUS PASS WHEN TRAVELLING TO AND FROM SCHOOL. In 2014 eligible students will be issued with a 2014 bus pass. Free transport is available on Government trains and buses where students live more than 2.0 kilometres (radial distance) from the College, measured on a radius from the centre of the school site. All students who currently hold a free pass will be automatically issued with a pass for 2014 unless they have had a change of address. If there is a change of address an Application Form must be completed and returned to the school office for processing. Application Forms for new students in Years 8 - 12 will be available at the Front Office. As in past years, a short period of time will be allocated where all school children will be permitted to travel free to allow distribution of passes.
