All of the following features are fitted as standard on the Volvo S80, V60, V70 and XC70 Police models unless stated otherwise:

Not only is the Volvo Emergency Service Vehicle Range more competitively priced than the leading rivals, but all of the vehicles in the range are EMC and Metropolitan Police brake test compliant and come with bespoke factory-fitted features as standard. You’ll also benefit from Volvo’s worldrenowned safety innovations, so you can ensure that your fleet is tailored to you and your colleagues’ needs – giving you everything you need to be first on the scene.

• 17" Police alloy wheels: Unique 5-spoke design for greater ventilation and cooling, with additional reinforcement.

• 17.5" brakes with wear sensor wires: These are the largest brakes we make and are specially designed for more intense driving. They also come with a sensor on the dashboard to warn when the brake pads are wearing down.

• Additional full size 17" Police alloy spare wheel (not V60): Designed so that you can quickly swap wheels if tyres are worn or punctured. Please note that this should be stored in your workshop and does not fit the wheel well in your Volvo’s cargo area.

• Extra exterior door mirror on passenger side (not V60): For use by the observer in the passenger seat. This can be removed for covert cars.

• Unique Emergency Services chassis with Nivomat shock absorbers: Designed specifically to allow for an increased payload, while retaining optimum speed, handling and comfort.

• Nivomat (automatic self-levelling suspension) (V70 only): Designed to balance out increased payloads in the rear cargo area and improve handling at speed.

• Heavy-duty anti-roll bars and shock absorbers: As above.

• Steel safety net (not S80): Reinforced to prevent heavy loose items from entering the passenger area.

This is the optimum size and speed rating for your Volvo.

• Tyre sealant kit and compressor: Included as a back-up in the event of a puncture.

• Jack and wheel brace: For situations where the spare (or a tempa spare) is carried in the car.

• Calibrated speedometer with +/- 2% accuracy and with 2mph increments, prepared by Instrument Repair Service (IRS).

• Additional wiring and fuse box for Emergency Service equipment (not V60): Pre-prepared for the fitting of additional electronic equipment.

• Centre armrest blanking plate: Designed so that additional equipment can be fitted to the armrest cavity.

• Cup holders: For when the vehicle is used on covert or unmarked use (not fitted, provided in luggage compartment for own installation if required).

• Upholstery, unique Police Interior Off Black (not S80/V60), Textile/Tricotech Off Black, available as an option: Police upholstery has a textile core with hardwearing leather-faced side panels, allowing for greater comfort for long shifts and the durability to withstand quick demounting and prolonged contact with utility belts.

• Vinyl rear seat cover for upholstery protection: One-piece bench seat, easily washable and with no cavities for the hiding of contraband by suspects.

• Rubber moulded floor trays (set of 4): Hardwearing and easy to clean.

• Emergency specification supplementary manual: To assist workshops or converters in the installation of additional electronic equipment.

• Heavy-duty battery (70 ampere hours/760 cold cranking amps): Larger capacity battery designed to cope with the fitting of additional electronic equipment.

• Alternator 180 amps: As above.

• 70-litre fuel tank: Increased capacity for longer patrol time.

• First aid kit • Service intervals set to 12,000 miles/12 months/650 engine hours: Although 18,000 miles is the manufacturer recommended figure, in our experience customers tend to service at 9,000–12,000 mile intervals. We have therefore set the service interval at 12,000 miles due to emergency use, although we can tailor the intervals to meet individual fleet requirements.

• Optional roof rails (NCO) These allow the fitting of lightbars without the need to drill holes in the roof.

• Optional load cover (NCO)

• Optional European Type Approval Certificate of Conformity (NCO): Required when purchasing Emergency Services specification vehicle to be registered as diesel car e.g. in the case of a covert vehicle.

We can also tailor the warranty period / mileage to match your individual requirements.

• Free familiarisation training We offer free familiarisation training for customers taking new Volvo models – both for drivers and technicians.

• 3-year Blue Light Roadside Assistance Cover: 24-hour breakdown cover, which will also cover the repair of punctures (driver will collect a spare tyre from the workshop and take it out to the car) and priority recovery of Emergency Services Vehicles (if it’s a police ARV then the car will be recovered to a secure area to allow transfer of equipment either to the armoury or another vehicle).
